Then Ford said no to Kyle Larson and they came out with the next gen car prohibiting alterations to it. It was a bunch of decisions that just destroyed his love for the sport.

Having left NASCAR behind myself about the time Tony retired, I can clearly see why NASCAR sucks nowadays and why Tony has decided to move on. Seems there are other goals he’d like to accomplish other than waste money on stage (stooge) spec car racing while having the sanctioning body bleed him dry. Good video!
I’m pretty sure 2020 Martinsville was the most livid I’ve ever been as a Harvick fan. I told someone after he won Darlington in the playoffs that Martinsville scared me, because I don’t think ppl realized how bad the 4 car was there for some reason.
It’s sad seeing SHR like this, The random sponsors, The mediocre cup drivers, Pretty much everything about the team right now, Though I am glad about every driver pretty much getting better rides, This was a once great NASCAR team, Who knows what could’ve happened if they stayed with Chevy, Who knows what could’ve happened if they got Larson, All we know is that SHR is gone, And it’s gonna be a pretty good what if.
I think the team failed bc Tony wanted out, each year he committed more to his nhra wife and his drag racing career. I will always like the early years with Stewart and Newman, Tony’s run in 2011 was almost to perfect as a fan.
One of the things that killed SHR was size. Four cars didn't suit the company. Richard Petty wrote once that the more cars you have, the less focus can be given to each. I think that in part did the team, and the business in.
Ironically, Joey Logano (The Driver who took over The 20 Toyota Camry for Joe Gibbs Racing with Home Depot as The Primary Sponsor after Tony Stewart jumped ship to Haas CNC Racing with 50% Ownership renaming the team to Stewart Haas Racing in 2009) Won in Stewart Haas Racing's Final Race as an Organization
While '08 was indeed abysmal for the #70, their average finish wasn't quite as bad as you indicated. It was 32.0. 36.8 would put them on par with Jeb Burton's 2015 with BK Racing, where he never finished better than 27th. And they only wound up 43rd thanks to a 150 point penalty. Without it they would have beaten Furniture Row Joe for 42nd.
Great video, but please change the music up a bit throughout the video, 40 mins of the same background music is a bit tiring. Changing it at each chapter would help differentiate them as well.
Tony Stewart's interests have turned to drag racing, and Gene Haas is concentrating on F1. Plus, they no longer have to deal with the money pit that is NASCAR; that anti-profit sharing monopoly.
Selling their soul to Kevin Harvick is what killed SHR. Look how many teams & driver's careers were sacrificed just to keep Harvick top priority. Look how SHR was prior to their sellout. Then sure enough the year after Harvick retires, the team shuts down. Coincidence? I think not.
Having a guy be top priority isn’t a deal breaker. Look at Hendrick. Even they had a down year or two after Gordon retired and Johnson’s Pocono crash that effectively ended his competitive career. But the difference is they had a succession plan. Elliott was proven in XFinity, Byron tore it up in the lower series, and Bowman had Cup experience and proved to be consistent. They still retained a sensible “pecking order” during the transition from Gordon-Johnson leading the team to Elliot-Byron (now Larson with Byron and Elliott battling for 2nd on the team) SHR never really had that. They had Harvick and some good veterans, but they didn’t have young talent ready to replace them one at a time. All they really had was Harvick and Childers and they hadn’t done a good enough job of supporting Briscoe to help him be ready to lead the team when Harvick inevitably retired.
Also there was a rift torn between NASCAR and Tony Stewart when NASCAR decided to race the first Cup series dirt race at Bristol instead of Tony's Eldora Speedway, Also keep in mind that there is a new TV deal in which the teams get very little of the profit and NASCAR the sanctioning body reeps most of the rewards if there was no contracts holding the teams down and there was a Union in NASCAR all the teams would be on strike for a better deal.

31:07 Nice try
The numbers look awful, and the cars are awful just like the dumbass point system they have created lol.
Shoutout to Kurt being robbed from wins twice by Nascar while at SHR at both 2015 Fontana and 2018 Talladega 🥲
You forgot rain shortened daytona race that Justin Haley won...
And he would've won both if there was no overtime.
@@JasonRamme-g9w that too. But Nascar deliberately not throwing the yellow on both obviously bad last lap crashes cost him both times
Does a Tony Stewart fan I am still conflicted over the 2011 season
Well I am happy Tony won the championship he was not the best driver all season
