its always nice to see someone that's still cares this much for viva piñata its such a wonderful series and it's a shame that not many people talk about it
Yes until you look it from a technical view. Every time I go into a store the shopkeepers face is broken. Wild non normally obtained pinatas like zumbugs. Dinosaur pinatas being difficult and finicky to get. Elephanilla just not wanting to unlock. The beekeeper hat just not showing up. Pinata textures going fully black white or one of their base colors. The AI pathing.
Leafos giving false rumors is actually part of the game to encourage players to experiment. When trying things like this, finding out that some of this is false, this encourages the player to continue doing other things in the game to potentially reveal secrets
44:18 Actually, there is something more to this one that would explain a lot: In the storybook journal entries, we see that Pester was actually once a helper himself named Lester (tho, from the weird disguise he had on in the illustration, maybe it was just a scheme, but its interesting how he named himself Lester, implying that's his actual name). If this is the case, and that's what Pester used to do before becoming the leader of the Ruffians, then you could assume Pester might actually be recruiting helpers, making them eat the sour candy, and corrupting them into Ruffians, and that's where they come from. If that's the case, then that has some interesting (and even dark) implications. Like does that mean Pester's minions are some sort of helper union rebellion against the order that governs Piñata Island? Or on the darker side, is Pester's group a sort of death cult that gets indoctrinated through sour candy, possibly killing them like Dastardos, but if they survive, they go on to cause disorder and indoctrinate/recruit more people to join the cult? 🤔
(Also side note, yeah, Pester 100% killed Stardos. That's something I found very obvious as a kid. The story entries are very tragic really. I mean Pester basically sent a man off on a wild goose chase to potentially get killed at sea. All in order to basically destroy all his life's work, and then poisoned and killed Jardinaro's son (who was still a child) that he was jealous of, jealous of a child bruh. That's extremely dark for a kids game. He probably would've attempted to kill the others had they not ran away from the garden. He did have a personal vendetta against Stardos tho. But I wouldn't be surprised if his intentions were to fully destroy Jardinaro's entire family if he was already set on attempting to kill Jardinaro & Stardos)
it was 2006, its friday, you just got in from school, you crack open an ice cold diet coke, no homework, no school tomorrow, getting pizza later. life was good.
Its so rare to see anyone talking about this game, so when this popped up suggest i was so excited. I had a blast listening to everything you had to say about this game, this game is a huge part of my childhood, great video!
Fun story about the Fourheads: My first introduction to the games (and to Rareware in general) was playing the demo on the Xbox Live Arcade disc, which got me hooked. I played the demo over and over until I finally got my family to get me the full game (& the sequel, which blew my mind that there was one) at Gamestop. But while I was playing the demo, I actually encountered something very rare at night. At the time, all I saw was some wild giant creature outside my garden with multiple heads, heaving and struggling to move and leave into the jungle. I thought it was some sort of glitch, but looking back, I think it was a wild Fourheads that either must’ve been extremely rare, or it glitched into the wild as a untamed, something I've never seen happen for a pinata like that. The way that thing moved though, it was so weird and creepy (and I just remembered it looking way bigger than a Fourheads, and it was cleary in pain when it lunged its body.) that every now and again I think it was more than just a Fourheads, but like some mangled bit of code, that created some sort of glitched out widened wild Fourheads, in the demo that just shows the demo isn't a finished version of the game. I guess I'll never know. Probably just my kid mind's overthinking imagination seeing it as crazier than it actually was. Idk.
Bro just made a whole creepypasta. This is incredibly intriguing. I'm making Viva Pinata art and animation, thinking about making a comic too, and might draw this or write a fanfic or make a comic on something like this after reading this story. If i ever do, then I'll credit you if you want, this is an awesome story regardless whether it was a misremembered childhood memory or a real glitch of some sorts. Thanks for sharing it, i wish something like this happened to me when i was playing viva pinata as a kid, but unfortunately my games were pretty stable and didnt really have any glitches or anything other than me performing the fence glitch to keep Professor Pester out of my garden

I found a something for the iceberg. When you unlock Bart's Exchange he says "Hello there my triangulated circular friend." Meaning that characters can see the outline of your mouse or xbox cursor when you move and select things.
One thing that happened to me that I didn't see in the video was my dragonache permanently leaving the garden. I was probably 13 or younger at the time, so my memory is a bit fuzzy. But essentially, I had a dragonache, you know, that one pinata that you can only have one of in your garden? Well, I had one, and then I didn't. Dragonache is unsellable and indestructible, so you'd think there's no way to get rid of it. I don't remember the context, it was either it got sad and ran away, or I sent it away and it didn't come back. Regardless, when I tried to fetch it, it just wasn't there. My sister and I both witnessed this, and we were totally stumped. To this day I still don't know what happened to it. But I thought I'd share the story anyway. I really enjoyed this video! I've been feeling a special kind of nostalgia for childhood media this past month, and it was incredibly sweet to hear someone simply talk about the franchise for nearly an hour. I can tell you did a lot of research on it! I really needed this, honestly.
if it was in TiP then dragonaches can absolutely run away if they're sad. i had two leave, and i haven't exactly figured out why but my theory is that they got stuck between the garden border and a birdproof fence which made their candiosity plummet idk if it's intended or some kinda bug, and i also don't know if it's possible in the original game sorry for the two year late reply lmao
There is something that a lot of people don't know that i found visiting someone's garden on TIP, which is the small piñatas, any piñata can stay at its baby size or a little bigger than that, all you have to do is when a piñata enters his coccon phase before he grows up you have to hit him with the tricks stick/baton, if you do the coccon then it will break and the piñata will stay in its baby size but be consider an adult piñata, different sizes can be get depending on when you hit the coccon with the stick/baton while it is growing
There are actual some extra variants even beyond the arctic and desert options. For example, a green Crowla was released for a halloween event based on Klungo from Banjo Kazooie. Mostly these were released through Piñata Vision
2 things One, about the pinata meat thing, in the show there's a bucket of cluckle legs in an episode about Franklin taming a sour macaracoon so I guess pinata meat exists somehow? 2, if I saw that costume of Hudson as a kid, I would've burst into tears lmao
Golf! I used to play this game obsessively and sometimes a random candy and hole would pop up? And you'd get a reward if you golfed with it! Could never find mention of it in the game guide I had, so I thought it was really cool
Ooh I really appreciate a lot of effort you put in this! I literally was so interested in everything you had to say. this game is so nostalgic for me Haha! started replaying the first viva piñata (I bought rare replay just for that Lol!) Maaan! They totally need to bring this came back!! I agree, a more fleshed out Spiritual successor would be a hit today. Since the animal crossing fandom is always looking for something Similar, and I feel like this game would be a hit with that Audience.
I USED TO HAVE ONE OF THE BURGER KING TOYS... i have no idea where it went but i had the macaraccoon one!! ;-; wish i knew what happened to that since i was a kid
YESSSSS I FINALLY HAD TIME TO WATCH IT... gosh. Viva Piñata is so fun, it's really a shame it doesn't get recognised more! I saw the iceberg post you made but this video certainly helped a ton elaborate a bit more on some of the points! either way, a really nice video
I love this video!! You managed to cram so much information into 45 minutes!!! Well done. Would you be ok with me sharing this on my Twitter? More people need to see this
Great video! I was surprised to see this game actually had an iceberg, i never hear people talk about it. I still play it, it's such an amazing game and still holds up!
I thought I knew everything there was about the pinata, you proved me wrong. If you want it play if he's a pinata trouble in Paradise with someone let me know because it will always be one of my most treasured games
This was great! I was looking through old Viva Pinata trailers to show a friend what I hope the Island Sanctuary expansion for FFXIV would be, and this was in the recommended list. Got a lot more than I bargained for :D 10/10 content! Viva Pinata is just the best - literally my childhood on the 360, my personal SIMs if you will (outside of the SIMs) At least Microsoft has let RARE out of the cage a bit these days, if just for Sea of Thieves, but there's some undeniable RARE magic in it - so at least there's hope for a Viva Dosñata. Good stuff!
omg i love this :-) i only get to play VP when i’m visiting my parents’ house now so i miss it a lot. i’ve been playing since i was little and the first game dropped!
Yeah back in the day I found viva piñata through the Xbox360 arcade the demo loved it. Then I got viva piñata tip still have that disk till this day. Nice video about this wonderful game.
An interesting note on completion. It is impossible to complete many pocket paradise files due to the fact that the rare piñata , the Jeli, will only spawn if a certain value is set which is assigned randomly at the file’s creation.
I loved this on xbox... I remember finding out two glitches on TiP. One was for infinite coins and the other was for rare animal colours. You know when an animal is black and white in the introduction videos and classed as "wild"? Well there was a way to tame them and have them keep that colour variation! I remember everyone who saw them wanting one, so I would occasionally give off mated pairs of pinatas that had that variation with a few million choco coins when sending people stuff.
@@quangotango8061 Honestly can't remember as it's been over a decade, sorry. :( I'm sure there's a few people out there who remember me giving them out though.
also final thing sorry with the ruffians helping helpers i got a glitch were bart was stuck and the ruffian came and tryed to help him but could not destroy the gate that bart was stuck on and then just left and he was stuck there forever or until i released him
I dont care if this video is 3 years old I had no idea Wildcards were in the original game. Ive played that game numerus times and 100% it at least 3+ times and not once have I found myself with a wildcard so I assumed it was only in TIP, but if I was wrong. Thats crazy
Something else that can be at the very bottom of the iceberg is the lost music video Everybody do the viva pinata. Like besides 2 low quality uploads of the song on UA-cam and the instrument being used in Party Animals. The original music video is literally no where to be found. So the instrumental is the closest thing we'll ever have to a high quality version.
Just getting back in the Viva pinata. One thing of the graphical downgrade on PC is because of how Xbox 360 games rendered stuff. There was post-processing that made stuff look smoother find console and kind of upscaled the resolution and lighting. The graphical limitations on PC are basically none of those happening
42:41 - This one is partially false. As you get Xbox achievements, you’re supposed to get little cutscenes of different pinatas doing goofy things. They didn’t always trigger for some people, but I remember getting the 50th achievement and the pretztail clip played with a “congrats, you got 50 achievements!” Message over it. Super underwhelming, but there is SOMETHING. YT won’t let you give proof links, but there are clips/videos on Reddit and YT. The reddit clip is on r/VivaPinata and the specific post is titled “Even when I expect them, the achievement videos always startle me.” And for the one on UA-cam just look up “Viva Pinata - All achievement cutscenes.” Also, I’m surprised the BIGsheep gift wasn’t mentioned here. Back in the day, if you got all the TiP in-game awards one of the Rare developers, BIGsheep, would send you a giant goobaa. Also, same guy has an Etsy shop with little crochet pinata plush patterns. Probably the closest we can get to official plushes, lol.
You can actually get out of the chocolate coins here's how it works step one get Venus Piata trap and when it grows smash it with a shovel and then you get the head once you get the seed in the head sell them and then you can get a lot of chocolate coins
I'm sure somebody's already said this, but the fact that people can turn into piñatas, and that certain piñatas are sentient, implies that the piñatas who are sentient are the ones that used to be human. (´。_。`)
Is the giraffe at 25:36 official concept art? Because, although they mentioned cancelled giraffes in one of the making-of videos, I have never seen official artwork of them before.
It's actually a interpretation I made, since we've never gotten to see them officially (please rare if you went so far as to implement them then they certainly have concept sketches, just show us the goods). Originally i was gonna include interpretations of the other mentioned piñatas as well, but happened to find images of them so i put those there instead.
hearing Hudson's english voice is so freaking weird to me (dutch person) like i know who else that guy has voiced. Dan Green keeps showing up in whack things...
It's upsetting because I've got so far on my account, but it doesn't have Xbox live, as far as I'm aware, you can't add it on to your previous existing account, is that right? (Sorry if this isn't right to ask, there's just not much people who play this game and so recently, so I didn't know who to ask)
Hello, one of my subscribers told me about your channel and this video, I don't speak English and I would like to know, if you would allow me to translate this video into Spanish and upload it to my channel? Thanks for reading and that you know that I am a big fan of Viva Piñata
its always nice to see someone that's still cares this much for viva piñata
its such a wonderful series and it's a shame that not many people talk about it
I still have both of my 360 games the original and TIP. I'm 24 and still love these games they're what made me love crafting games as a whole.
and it's sad that they won't make a new viva piñata

Piñatas are masochistic.
In the intro the viewer is told that piñatas love going to parties. And we all know what happens to piñatas at parties.
Yet they get mad at you when you hit them with a shovel 🙄
And in the show too.
Well, all except Paulie and Fergy that is.
Especially the latter.
He HATES parties, probably due to trauma.
Viva Pinata was my childhood, I played it almost daily 🥺

YESSSSS I FINALLY HAD TIME TO WATCH IT... gosh. Viva Piñata is so fun, it's really a shame it doesn't get recognised more! I saw the iceberg post you made but this video certainly helped a ton elaborate a bit more on some of the points! either way, a really nice video
There is one thing I wish you mentioned The Shows Cancelled 3rd Season
I love this video!! You managed to cram so much information into 45 minutes!!! Well done. Would you be ok with me sharing this on my Twitter? More people need to see this
Thank you, and of course! Feel free to share it, it'd only be fun to have more peeps getting to see the video :D
aren’t you gonna do an ice berg too?
My first ever game
Great video! I was surprised to see this game actually had an iceberg, i never hear people talk about it. I still play it, it's such an amazing game and still holds up!
This game needs more people
I thought I knew everything there was about the pinata, you proved me wrong.
Viva Pinata is just the best - literally my childhood on the 360, my personal SIMs if you will (outside of the SIMs)
At least Microsoft has let RARE out of the cage a bit these days, if just for Sea of Thieves, but there's some undeniable RARE magic in it - so at least there's hope for a Viva Dosñata.
Good stuff!
Viva piñata is a beautiful masterpiece, I loved it
I only got to play at MCdonalds a few times. Knew more abouth the show, and even watched the cannibal episode as a child. Good memories.
This video is such a delight its easy to see all the hard work put into it!!!
omg i love this :-) i only get to play VP when i’m visiting my parents’ house now so i miss it a lot. i’ve been playing since i was little and the first game dropped!
Great video. I also loved these games as a kid. I'd like to revisit them but dont have an Xbox anymore.
holy shit i was listening to this and looking at your tumblr at the same time and i didnt even notice
I rememeber that game. I played it super candy rush. I had a Good Childhood. [The Flow of time will never cease.]
This game was so underrated i remember when i was very young i with my sis secretly played viva pinata at like 2am
Yeah back in the day I found viva piñata through the Xbox360 arcade the demo loved it. Then I got viva piñata tip still have that disk till this day. Nice video about this wonderful game.
Ok. I need to dump this somewhere. I found a wild zumbug. It shouldn't be possible. I got a screenshot of it and I'm not lying. Viva confuseita!
this is really thorough! great job!
Subbed! Know this is from a while ago but not seen a channel mainly based on viva piñata which is my favourite game!
What a gem of a video, thank you for making this. I loved it! 🐋
really nice video! i didnt know many of these things about this game i love so much
Someone get DougDoug to speedrun Viva Pinata and bring it back like he did with peggle
An interesting note on completion. It is impossible to complete many pocket paradise files due to the fact that the rare piñata , the Jeli, will only spawn if a certain value is set which is assigned randomly at the file’s creation.
THIS HAS HAUNTED ME MY WHOLE CHILDHOOD now I finally understand why I couldn't ever find a jeli no matter how many fir trees I planted, I thank you
@@georgiag812 haha I found one once luckily so that was enough to satisfy my soul but I don’t think I ever completed a game
The PC port is the bomb, this game was meant to be played with a mouse curser
I loved this on xbox... I remember finding out two glitches on TiP. One was for infinite coins and the other was for rare animal colours. You know when an animal is black and white in the introduction videos and classed as "wild"? Well there was a way to tame them and have them keep that colour variation! I remember everyone who saw them wanting one, so I would occasionally give off mated pairs of pinatas that had that variation with a few million choco coins when sending people stuff.
how did you do it?? !!!!
@@quangotango8061 Honestly can't remember as it's been over a decade, sorry. :( I'm sure there's a few people out there who remember me giving them out though.
@@KingFluffs aww it’s okay no worries!! i just started playing this game and i really love the black & white too
"Basically you can say all these piñatas are trans" freaking lost it. Great video!!
I think ruffians and sprinkler are cannonaly in love
I remember use to having a Wild-card wurmple that I named 'Wurmsaur' lol
i was playing viva Piñata the other day and wondering about the blue flower
then i watched this video
also KANGAROO as a conept oh if there is ever a third game made we need the kangaroo
also final thing sorry with the ruffians helping helpers i got a glitch were bart was stuck and the ruffian came and tryed to help him but could not destroy the gate that bart was stuck on and then just left and he was stuck there forever
or until i released him
I dont care if this video is 3 years old I had no idea Wildcards were in the original game. Ive played that game numerus times and 100% it at least 3+ times and not once have I found myself with a wildcard so I assumed it was only in TIP, but if I was wrong. Thats crazy
i hope they do something more with VP i really want a third game
Something else that can be at the very bottom of the iceberg is the lost music video
Everybody do the viva pinata. Like besides 2 low quality uploads of the song on UA-cam and the instrument being used in Party Animals. The original music video is literally no where to be found. So the instrumental is the closest thing we'll ever have to a high quality version.
Awesome video, love the content, love viva pinata. simple as.
yes!! viva pianta content!
Amazing video! Please may you make more content at some point?
Great video
42:41 - This one is partially false. As you get Xbox achievements, you’re supposed to get little cutscenes of different pinatas doing goofy things. They didn’t always trigger for some people, but I remember getting the 50th achievement and the pretztail clip played with a “congrats, you got 50 achievements!” Message over it. Super underwhelming, but there is SOMETHING.
YT won’t let you give proof links, but there are clips/videos on Reddit and YT. The reddit clip is on r/VivaPinata and the specific post is titled “Even when I expect them, the achievement videos always startle me.”
And for the one on UA-cam just look up “Viva Pinata - All achievement cutscenes.”
Also, I’m surprised the BIGsheep gift wasn’t mentioned here. Back in the day, if you got all the TiP in-game awards one of the Rare developers, BIGsheep, would send you a giant goobaa. Also, same guy has an Etsy shop with little crochet pinata plush patterns. Probably the closest we can get to official plushes, lol.
Sick video
thanks man (:
You can actually get out of the chocolate coins here's how it works step one get Venus Piata trap and when it grows smash it with a shovel and then you get the head once you get the seed in the head sell them and then you can get a lot of chocolate coins
Dislike is from porf. pester
epic
how did you go about freely walking outside the garden?
I tried finding the windows version for installation for nostalgia but I can’t seem to find it. Any tips?
Thank you for the video.
wow, you're just amazing :O
FYI the duplication glitch can corrupt your save file if you do it too much, it happened to me :(
I'm sure somebody's already said this, but the fact that people can turn into piñatas, and that certain piñatas are sentient, implies that the piñatas who are sentient are the ones that used to be human. (´。_。`)
god i wish a new game came out, but holding out that hope 14 years later just isnt looking good
worth it
Is the giraffe at 25:36 official concept art? Because, although they mentioned cancelled giraffes in one of the making-of videos, I have never seen official artwork of them before.
It's actually a interpretation I made, since we've never gotten to see them officially (please rare if you went so far as to implement them then they certainly have concept sketches, just show us the goods). Originally i was gonna include interpretations of the other mentioned piñatas as well, but happened to find images of them so i put those there instead.
@@smash_chu I absolutely love your interpretation! It's so cute! I hope they make a new game with a giraffe that looks like that haha
does anyone know the flash game where you bounce a pinata around the screen to collect the lollies?
I can't play this game anymore and I forgot my account password.
I do have the cd for the pc but I can't play it anymore.
PLEASE HELP!!!
Anyone else surprised there's no mobile game for this?
TCK was here
Sweet Cannibalism!
1:03 or rare doing adult jokes
nice video
9:31 nope, because the show is pretty diferente of the game idk.
can you still get this game on pc or have a similar game like it? I use to love this game as a kid and love gardening
It's abandonware so you can pirate it with some modifications
hearing Hudson's english voice is so freaking weird to me (dutch person) like i know who else that guy has voiced. Dan Green keeps showing up in whack things...
May I ask, if you still play this game, how do you save it?
It's upsetting because I've got so far on my account, but it doesn't have Xbox live, as far as I'm aware, you can't add it on to your previous existing account, is that right? (Sorry if this isn't right to ask, there's just not much people who play this game and so recently, so I didn't know who to ask)
you can add it on
Thank you so much for replying! I've been trying for a while so thanks for confirming, I think I may know what to to
I finally did it ^^
Porque pensaba que estaba en español?😞

Hello, one of my subscribers told me about your channel and this video, I don't speak English and I would like to know, if you would allow me to translate this video into Spanish and upload it to my channel?
Thanks for reading and that you know that I am a big fan of Viva Piñata
Jefe is pronounced "hef-ayy"
