would love to meet someone for whom this album was a formative part of their teen years. I had a big early warped tour phase.. and slowly moved from there. Though I often chuckle at myself when I remember one of the first albums I fell in love with was the Silent Hill OST, both 1 and 2. Was so unique and emotionally new for me at the time.
@@pricesmith8450 listening to this for the first time as a 31 year old man makes me wonder what I would have been like if I discovered this part of myself when I was 16
Definitely his most underrated album. Nobody ever talks about it but it's a masterpiece. Because of Duffy I found out about this guy and it is still the best vsnares sing to date.
Not much music like this. For creepy feel, “Winter in the Belly of a Snake” For melody “Rossz Csillag Allatt Szuletett” For drums, maybe “Detrimentalist”
Squarepusher, Aphex Twin, Hrvatski ("Swarm and Dither") and Autechre BUT nothing else really sounds like Venetian Snares, just like nothing else sounds like all them... The "Giant Alien Force..." 3" CD of his (pretty sure it's on here) is incredible.
I know it's been six years but if you're still looking there was another release by Vsnares the same year as this that's a bit similar. Cavalcade of Glee and Dadaist Happy Hardcore Pom Poms, full length and pretty dope.
It's 1 am and this is the first time I am exploring this kind of music (breakcore, glitchcore, whatever that's called?) and I kind of enjoy it. Really melodic, sounds a bit like IDM, doesn't it?
You'll never see this, but oh well. IDM is a larger genre that stuff like breakcore/glitch/etc often fall underneath. It's basically electronic music that is meant to be listened to rather than danced to.
very unique; was the melody style of "my love is a bulldozer" and has a new sounding style of drums... takes me back to the album "printf[shiver in eternal darkness];/"
After years of on/off listening I still hear details I haven't before, like that "ziiiiip" at 1:26... edit: or I just forgot about them, I didn't sleep much today and guess I'm hypersensitive to sounds.
It's very much classical, which he has in common with a lot of electronic producers like Aphex Twin and Squarepusher who cab both be really manic and hard but (like, say, Metallica) have arrangements that wouldn't bebout of place in Beethoven.
DO NOT BLEACH Now that I think of it it reminds me somewhat of a piece of artwork from Pearl Jams recent album “Backspacer” I am almost positive that it is the same artist. If so it is cartoonist Dan Perkins (Tom Tomorrow)
It starts off like the music for 'Casualty'. The illustration doesn't help. Trans-humanist? No thanks. I like being male, for whatever it means in 2018. Gonna be a machine very soon. we're already more cybernetic than we realise. Insanely angry & extremely perfect sequencing etc etc. Fuc%%in lovin it. Every man has this anger within them. How do you explain that? I dunno. Need an outlet. Snares found his. War is not the answer. Men/people are capable of great things when they channel this intense anger into something constructive. How do you keep the inspiration when you are going to spend days/weeks coming up with the reality? How to hold a dream?
Transhumanism is about modifying, reinventing and transcending what we have historically called being human. There are different philosophies and ways they achieve their goals. Some philosophies believe that being human has nothing to do with our form, be it through an immortal soul, be it through the human condition, be it through the human mind or be it through simply being a continuation of humanity even if it's only a machine. Some transhuman philosophies see everything we are as flawed and flaws as a bad thing. Different transhumanist philosphies view different parts of being human as something we could, or should transcend. Some of them seek variations of the idea of godhood and others just seek a continuation of nature albeit a synthetic one. One of the many philosphies asking "Where do I end, and another thing begins?" is externalism, according to which we are already transhuman, but that it's a natural thing for us to integrate direstly or externally with our environment and creations. My devices are a part of my mind, others are part of my thoughts and algorythms biases of my mind modulating my senses of information. Anyhow, interesting stuff very existential

maybe druqks di afx could be a good example of unique composition that can be similar for some aspects with this one
