ONE bass drum ! WOW ! Doesn't rely on double bass drums to kill it. Great beats, fills, speed, grooves, and showmanship. He's the whole package. A humble gentleman too. Plus he doesn't rely on E gimmicks. Ol' skool .
You do know he had double bass pedal right😂. I mean it's pretty clear if you look , you can see both legs moving and you don't see the hi-hat moving up and down do you
@@peakadventures_ he didn't use a double bass for this I assure you. I've seen past videos he taps his foot on the floor instead of the hi hat. 1 you don't hear double bass it's Bonham triplets and ghost notes on the snare that make it sound that way. Also if you have seen his master class on UA-cam he says he doesn't play double bass.
Sometimes I look at a front man or a guitarist, and I think to myself, "Damn, I would love to stand there someday". Then I watch a video like this and I think, "Nevermind, Im right where i should be!"
As someone who plays the guitar and sings, watching drummers is still by far the most energizing experience. At FF concerts I've spent 80% of my time watching Taylor flail around and I don't regret that.
My God dude how are you gone?? So sad we as fans will never get to experience that again!! Your always smiling face and amazing talent is missed more than I can express 😭😭
berkant akarsu Buddy Rich is undoubtedly one of the best jazz drummers of all time, and his influence still permeates almost every imaginable genre. That said, Taylor is (in my opinion) one of the best rock drummers of all time. That's not to say he is the most technically proficient, but he just 'fits' the music he plays perfectly.
I don't think people give Taylor a lot of credit: he has such a distinguishable style of drumming, and his form is ridiculously polished and clean. This is the guy I want to drum like some day.
drum sound by Taylor Hawkins are very suitable for the soundtrack of movies .. what a brilliant drummer .. his drumming like 4-7 peoples playing drum together in the same time
All my live i've been searching for someone someone always drums never stop for nothing nothing is to hard because he is the best one who finish this solo is FUCKING BLESSED!
would be a freaking awesome idea if someone could take the tame to record as many drummers he can with this kind of production, listening the drum so raw and close.
or use better drummers as the gold standard. Most drummers can pull off those simple yet complex sounding l r k ; lrlr ; rrllkk; patterns flawlessly. Look at tony royster at age 8. That is kinda the new good. Everyone that was impressed by this guys technique can’t play drums
Taylor and Dave are very different drummers.. but they have 2 things in common, they play with feel rather than technical stuff.. and both of them are self-taught.
i love music but am not a real student or into the nuances. but i just watched taylor hawkins in the foo fighters Pretender video and thats what brought me here. i just enjoy his crisp, high energy style. i'm guessing that helps keep 5% body fat.
Daniel Romeiro disregard my first comment, this solo wasn’t very good towards the in the middle in my opinion but I saw a few other of his solos and they are great.
This was very Musical! Something that most drummers don't get. Just want to go a million miles an hour on their bass drums. This was enjoyable! Anyone who thumbs down this is deaf!
@mufasahootenanny OK here we go again. The solo in BR is great because it's done by someone who has the tools to BRING THE PASSION OUT. The technique allows the player to express himself in ways much greater and diverse than a limited player. Technique alone is not enough of course but it allows options and avenues for the passion. A good player learns the rules before he breaks them
Solid chops mixed with the energy of a little kid banging on pots and pans in the kitchen. We will love you always. RIP Taylor Hawkins
There goes my hero. Watch him as he drums.
aged well
Vale Taylor Hawkins!
Gay
RIP Taylor Hawkins. They're definitely gonna hear him approaching the pearly gates.
He could do those Bonham triplets until the end of time and they'd still sound tight.
His energy is just amazing, and look at his smile.. He just loves to do what he's doing. That man was born to drum!
Taylor is truly an underrated drummer, Dave has always overshadowed him.
So true. It kind of stinks that you've 2 really good drummers in the same band. But you're right, Hawkins is an amazing drummer.
+greenday103921guns but still...dave is better than any drummer on the planet
+dark man x Ummm... Nope.
Sagar Hirani Ummmm...Yep.
I can name 10 off the top of my head right now who are way way way better than Dave Grohl. He's awesome no doubt... But... Ummm. nope.
Taylor is a freaking boss

Lots of drummers move their left foot like crazy but that doesn't mean they are playing double bass. Chad Smith does this and dave grohl does too.

Frank Mensing as long as you're happy and really enjoy drumming :))
Michael Phelps Whatever you enjoy most man

Prepsi Of TDU2 not even close...

A natural talent. RIP Hawk
Sounds great! I rarely listen to an entire drum solo but I did for this one.
I had not seen this. I loved every minute I sat next to him at 14 yrs worth of shows
I don't think people give Taylor a lot of credit: he has such a distinguishable style of drumming, and his form is ridiculously polished and clean. This is the guy I want to drum like some day.
Absolute f'n beast on the kit. Thanks for sharing. That was awesome.
R.I.P. Taylor 😢
i was watching everywhere but home last night and i realized that taylor hawkins may have the best sixteenth notes i have ever heard on the hi-hat
Man this guy is so underrated. He is a good drummer
Pure energy
i will always more respect for drummers who do it with one foot
Why's that?
But he's using both
+mjrupps nah, he just goes nuts on his hi hat pedal with his left foot
Right, but he's using both feet. The left one keeps time
robbie thompson , no offense but it's ten times harder to play double pedals than single . Try it you'll see
Rest in peace,Taylor.Terrible loss.
best taylor vid ever, ive watched it a thousand times!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i love taylor hawkins!!!!!!!!!
guy in the back ground looks like he is having a bad high.
Wash_Your_Fruits lol it's Taylor's drum tech
LOLOLOLOL 8D
Taylor is amazing
There goes my hero😭😭😭
one of the very best!
Taylor has best teacher so he is one of my fav after Dave off course. But honestly, one of the most powerful and skilled drummers in the world!
I don't know how he does it....i really don't......he's just awesome in every way possible. I LOVE YOU TAYLOR :3
Mr. Hawkins turns the snare on at 1:22

drum sound by Taylor Hawkins are very suitable for the soundtrack of movies .. what a brilliant drummer .. his drumming like 4-7 peoples playing drum together in the same time

best drummer of our generation hands down
I love the way his toms pop
An expert in his profession - a specialist :) very engaging drummer ! (I watched this by accident !) Thank you for posting
Trying to play his stuff is like trying to catch a rabbit, almost impossible to catch, it sure is fun trying... Taylor you are great !!!
would be a freaking awesome idea if someone could take the tame to record as many drummers he can with this kind of production, listening the drum so raw and close.

Insane!!
I dont know how I got to this video but damn
Hes the only dude on the whole planet you just have to love even if its just for the name I mean how great does Taylor Hawkins sound man ? :D
Major Roger Taylor and Neil Peart influence going, outrageous solo.
T H is a fine percussionest and i like the fact that he's not so depedent on doubble base like most of the drummers today.
One word, incredible!
my fucking god, he's an ANIMAL.... someone close my jaw, please!!
three words... taylor hawkins rules!
Greatest fucking modern drummer...but those lights are giving me a damn stroke
best drummer in the world ...

@@nukillerfridaymusic911 BS, he is a good drummer and a good musician.
@@miisu indeed. But no technicien and that is the context here.
After watching Chad Smith this is pretty basic and boring
@kcdrummaster He doesn't use a double bass pedal. He uses the left foot to keep the rythm with the hi hats
bad ass drum solo
one the best drummers of the world!!! \m/
sick drumming, SICK!
LIKE A BOSS!!
I had no idea he was this good
Esse cara quase quebrou a bateria e estourou meus ouvidos
he went crazy at the end
I love the grin he has every time he turns xD
Taylor and Dave are very different drummers.. but they have 2 things in common, they play with feel rather than technical stuff.. and both of them are self-taught.
Such a talent
@ntbscomedykidz So is Taylor. Watch his left foot, its going the whole time and its not controlling the hi-hats, which means its double kick
i love music but am not a real student or into the nuances. but i just watched taylor hawkins in the foo fighters Pretender video and thats what brought me here. i just enjoy his crisp, high energy style. i'm guessing that helps keep 5% body fat.

laurent vince you must not be a drummer.
Drumisfum I'm a drummer and he's great imo. What difference does it make if you are or not?
