    Shakado Ruins Museum Part 1
    Jomon Heaven Yamanashi Prefecture
The shock of 1,116 clay figurines!!
You can encounter various Jomon clay figurines.
The first part is about the clay figurines excavated from the Shakado ruins.
A truly diverse collection of clay figurine fragments
Copies of clay figurines from various regions?
    After the exchange?
There are really a variety of clay figurines here!
It is located on the eastern side of the Kofu Basin, in the center of the Kyodo River alluvial fan, and stretches 450 meters from north to south. The altitude is about 450 meters.
From 1980 to the following year, in connection with the construction of the Chuo Expressway, excavation surveys were carried out by the Yamanashi Prefectural Board of Education, involving a total of more than 20,000 people.
There are many remains of Jomon pit dwellings and
As many as 1,116 clay figurines and pottery with water flow patterns were excavated.
The clay figurine had been broken and buried.
The oldest one is 16,000 years old!!
I don't know how old it is anymore lol
However, most of the clay figurines date back to the middle Jomon period, about 5,500 years ago.
This seems to be the period when it was at its most prosperous.
After that, it seems to have fallen into decline, and the number of remains has decreased even after people began living there.
It seems that there was a large-scale eruption and mountain collapse of Mount Fuji during the Late Jomon period, so this may have also had an influence.
In any case, the 1,116 clay figurine fragments are a spectacular sight.
Moreover, it looks like something I've seen somewhere before...
    Although it has been simplified,
Clay figurines from all over Japan are gathered here.
    What does that mean?
    Was there a trade?
    Was there any personal interaction?
    I don't know...
    This is just my hypothesis.
The Jomon were a group centered around women,
The style in which a man marries.
At that time, the clay figurine from the bride's original village is brought, disassembled, and shared among the bride, and then buried around the village to which she has been married.
    As a guardian deity.
The Earth Mother is a woman.
    Also, there's no looting...
I don't think there will be any conflict.
Anyway, there are many different clay figurines, and some of them have designs that look like something you've seen somewhere before.
Do the shapes of clay figurines differ depending on the region?
    Religious views?
Is it because they are dedicated to a different god?
    I don't know.
    There are too many (laughs)
In any case, the Shakado Ruins Museum may have been the cultural center of the Middle Jomon period...
    It's a masterpiece ♪
