- The Truro River runs from the city into the Fal. It is a tidal river, forming the Malpas Estuary between the city centre and the village of Malpas.
The Truro is navigable right up the Garras Wharf, which is now a car park, and would have been an important river port for Cornwall up to the middle of the 20th Century.

This brought back memories.I once experienced being stuck on a sandbank in Southampton harbour (drydocks to wet) after refloating and bailing water out all night long.

It looks like it - the boats in Penny looked more mobile and they were half under the mud
