They really are fantastic, far better than the purpose built ones. I always prefer trails that were not built with mountain bikes in mind, as I love the element of having to deal with what crops up rather than knowing that it will all be fine 😃
Excellent edit mate . You lucky buggers....what an amazing place ......and your commentary is great 😂. You’d hear nowt from me , apart from swear words....I’d be silently hanging on 😄
What a fantastic ride this was, easily the ride of the year, fantastic video, it really showed how great it was, this is a contender for best video too 👍
It was just amazing, start to finish. So glad you could make it along, especially as it was a last minute decision Would that be my top ten or your top ten videos for 2020? 😂
Brilliant video! The daft grandad dad dentist name, I have only heard in the last few years. Had always known it as the three witches. Whatever you call it, it's a great run down.👍
Cheers mate and yeah, doesn’t matter what it’s called, it’s a fantastic trail that just keeps going on and on. The slabs are ‘fun’ in the wet, especially if it’s not rained in ages!
Everything about this spot looks so great! The variety of terrain mixed with those sweet views. Places like this always make for great days out with the bikes. Especially with great company. Awesome content man. The footage on your channel just keeps getting better and better
Thanks mate and yeah, the terrain and views are hard to beat. The footage was helped greatly with the weather being outstanding that day; it’s always wet on the ground up there, as it does rain one hell of a lot in the Lake District 👍
I've often wondered about getting a job at the Eagle's Head in Satterthwaite just for the commute from Coniston. Another great Lakes vid Jason, No wonder it's so busy up here this year with all your publicity lol
Thanks mate and yeah, the commute would be fantastic but riding hope at Midnight on a wet January evening after a couple of post work beers would be a bit of a bind 😀 I’d love to think I have encouraged people to travel to the Lakes but the vast majority there still seem to be the park up, waddle 200 yards from the car and then head for Bowness type of tourist 😀
I am heading here this morning. Albeit with a lot less skill than you have! I am planning on doing the forest tracks and maybe a few single track bits. Great video!
I was a bit concerned that after riding so much other stuff recently, it may not be as great as I remembered but it was, and more. There's so much in the forest, and we didn't even touch the Enduro tracks (no time to unfortunately)
I'll look forward to your video 👍. What would have been great was if we literally were following and met you out on the trail (I know you've met Marc before so he would have made the introductions). The question is, would you have left the conversation at the tarn in your edit 😂😂😂
Stopadoodledoo I would have done yeah. It’s all part of the story 😂. Think I need a revisit of this area. As the trails in this vid look amazing. I did the one you did near the end of the vid. But that’s it. I’m always up for a ride. We will have to plan something.
Thanks mate, really appreciate that. This was the first time I'd ridden Claife and Grizedale in over a year and I had forgotten how nice the trails were. Great Lakes introduction ride for Christian and Marc too 👍
Best ride of year to date this for views, laughs and PROGRESSION 🤣 Honestly that Badger has a lot to answer for, the cause of your stinking bobby helmet!! 🤮 ruined a stunning view!! Everything about this day was fantastic! The views, the riding but christ almighty the laughs 🤣 Loved the day, perfect for the ebike and my chubby legs speeding away up those climbs, thank you for getting us up here!! Anyone else thinking about it, the question is more why have you not planned it already 👍🏼👍🏼 you will not be disappointed!!
Definitely the best ride of the year, haven't laughed as much in ages. It's very telling that all of us could have made 40 minute videos out of the footage if we had been so inclined. Dirty badger 😂👍
Yes but many years ago, on a wet day in December, on DH bikes. I did plan to go exploring there shortly after the ride we did on the silly stuff on the Coniston side of the forest but by the time the opportunity arose, Storm Arwen had hit and I didn’t want to risk driving all that way to find a devastated mess. Are the trails on that side still up and running?
I had to check what was at 6:15 then, there were a few 'moments' on that ride (thought you may have been referring to what was making the smell at the tarn 😂). No gimbal, I use a GoPro 8 on a Stuntman chest harness (way better than the GoPro one). The 8 has electronic stabilisation 👍
With the quality of the audio on the 4, you could use it for vlogging or third person shots. I am forever having to swap between chest harness and mini tripod with my one camera
@@Stopadoodledoo well I've got a little Hero Session too, which I often forget about lol, will have to figure out what is going where, good to know this smoothness can be achieved with just the built in stabilisation though.
Best yet... For laughs I reckon. Looks a rocky strewn loose fest. I ride the North Face the same day I did the old man of Coniston a few years ago. It was pretty dull. I can't remember any of it to be honest 😂
They just looked so miserable. We saw another group doing it last year when we went back to Grizedale and they looked even less happy. Maybe they expected them to do 30mph rather than 3… 😃
I wanted to like the North Face trail, but there's nothing really there to like. Dunno how they managed to make such an uninspiring trail in such fantastic terrain. Maybe it's targeted at beginners? It does nothing for me anyhow. But at least there's a bike trail there.
You're spot on mate; they could have done so much but somehow failed to, especially with the last descent. I honestly don't mind the climbs as they are a pleasant enough way to get to better stuff in the forest but all of the descents are just terrible. I do wonder why the Lakes needed any trail centres really, as there is so much amazing riding there anyway that you could spend a lifetime and not do it all 👍
The trails look fun!
They really are fantastic, far better than the purpose built ones. I always prefer trails that were not built with mountain bikes in mind, as I love the element of having to deal with what crops up rather than knowing that it will all be fine 😃
Absolutely brilliant descent there . Miles of single track goodness . Great ride and well done 👍 to all of you . Great fitness
Cheers Mitko. You need to source yourself a bike that goes up and along as well as down, so you can come along next time 👍😃
@@Stopadoodledoo I will push my self on my beast I think, looks super good to miss a riding day out there with you guys
Excellent edit mate . You lucky buggers....what an amazing place ......and your commentary is great 😂. You’d hear nowt from me , apart from swear words....I’d be silently hanging on 😄

Rad segway riding man 🤘🤘🤘
It just looked so slow and crap; I guess they all paid top dollar to potter around on those things at 2mph as well 😃
@@Stopadoodledoo £35 for the hour 😲😲😲
£35?, that's ridiculous! I'll give the fools a backie on my bike for £25

Yeah fantastic trails in that bit of the Lakes. Good all year round.
Cracking ride Mate. Those descents look bloody mint! 👍🤜
Cheers Mark, Grizedale is packed with fantastic trails, definitely worth a visit (as is the whole of the Lakes) 👍
Nice video bro! Awesome trails! Keep it safe 🤙🔝
Cheers mate, the trails really are proper good around Grizedale, in fact the whole of the Lakes District 👍
Stopadoodledoo just keep shredding then bro 😁🔝

Any experience of the small dh trails just above Bogle crag car park? Very slippery rooty stuff.

Top video mate. Going up the lakes at the end of the month. Do you have the gpx or route downloaded I could have? No way I'll remember that route 😂😂👍
Hi mate. It’s on my Strava: Jason Thomas, I am the one who lives in Chester. I’m also in TheGibMTB Strava group 👍
6:15, wasn't expecting that and ended up spitting my Coke out, thanks for that LOL!
What is your gimbal set up buddy?

The North Face is a pretty forgettable trail 😀
