I would try using something less emollient than the Weleda skin food. Something hydrating, yes; emollient, not so much. A lot of times that’s what the powder will cling to/lift rather than allow to be pressed into the skin. Hopefully that makes sense? Give it a go because I feel like that’s a common denominator in your bake tests 🤔😂❤️
OMG EXACTLY. THAT PRODUCT IS THE ABSOLUTE WORST. I can’t believe she continues to use that under makeup and doesn’t realize it’s probably what’s breaking her out and making her base look awful
The Isntree Hyaluronic Acid Moist Cream is absolutely incredible! It's definitely better for dry skin types, but I've personally found that it layers amazingly under every foundation/concealer/powder etc. I've tried it with. (I have dry, sensitive, breakout-prone skin and it's the only moisturizer I use anymore).
The way I “bake” with my dry skin, is with a large velour puff. I work the powder into the puff so it’s all inside the puff, not visibly sitting on it. And then I press it into my skin. It absorbs right it and doesn’t make me look more dry.
I have never had sufficient success with baking but I see other people doing it and they absolutely GO INNNN with the powder. My skin could absolutely NEVER. You should book Kevin to do your makeup next time you go to Toronto for an event or something! 💕
I love when you try others techniques and new makeup and let us see the issues you have -makes me feel so much better about my own makeup challenges and times a product just doesn't work out for me
I actually like the technique of applying concealer later. It helps with going overboard with blush. Also I would love to see videos on facials and skin care content!! 🥺😍
I love his makeup!!! Definitely feel like the skin care makes all the difference! Also I love these videos where you follow other tutorials, very fun!!
He’s so talented. But when people say “stop doing this, do this” it drives me nuts. Skin is like as individual as a fingerprint. Been an MUA and Esthetician for 24 years and I NEVER do the same thing on everyone. ❤️ Also baking only works on very specific skin. Mainly perfectly smooth 😂 and even then can look cakey!
After months of not baking, I decided to delve back in before a holiday party and my face did not love it so I am with you here - either I'm not doing it right or its just not for me. Loved seeing you get out of your comfort zone with these techniques.
The final look is stunning 💜 you’re not alone in not being a fan of baking, Andrea Ali also talks about why she doesn’t think it’s worth it in some of her videos so I’ve just never bothered 🤷🏼♀️
I feel like I’ve heard that applying concealer after your cheek products helps you not over apply (not completely blank out your face before adding colour). Especially when using creams that are more dense and therefore provide some coverage. But woah that pre-powder skin is FAB, absolutely keep that part of the routine and maybe just hit it with a little bit of the Charlotte powder where you need and *chef’s kiss*
I too have a “bald” patch but mines on my eye! I don’t know which would be worse patchy eye makeup or cheek. For baking a hydrating eye cream first is a must. Then after blending concealer immediately set it with a light dusting of powder, then go in with the powder on a damp sponge and pack it on. You need a thick layer. Then leave it for 5-10 minutes so your skin can heat up and cook the concealer in. Baking comes from the drag scene and those girls know how to have makeup last through a performance
I bake sometimes. I like to use 2 setting sprays. The first one is a very moisturizing spray that I drench my face in. This makes all the makeup and powder meld together and soak into the skin. The second is Urban Decay's All Nighter to keep everything in place. I don't spray on quite as much. Also, I use a foldable fan to make sure the sprays quickly dry to prevent makeup gathering in any wrinkles.
Poor Lan feels like a clown. This is exactly my feeling that I get every time I make up in the morning and then sometime in the daylight see what I have done. And a thousand thanks, please keep trying as far as banking is concerned. I just can't get it done for ages and love to see the process with you when it finally works one day and you have the solution to all our problems.
These kind of videos are one of my favorites!!! I love seeing you try new techniques or try replicate makeup looks because it truly motivates me to do the same and have fun with my collection! 💜
I'm totally going to try spraying my foundation brush tomorrow. I just got the same foundation and I'm loving it. I cannot do the concealer or powder thing under my eyes...It looks truly awful EVERY TIME. I say keep doing what works for YOU in that regard and to heck with what works for others. You are very beautiful in a very natural way and I say embrace that :). Another great vid. Lots to think about and consider adding to my current routine!
The setting spray thing works amazingly for undereye concealer too. If you blend tour concealer in with your brush, add a little setting spray first. Or if you use a sponge to blend it, spray a little on there first. Or if you forget, you can spray a little on your finger and gently dab on after your concealer has been applied. Then apply powder (a light dusting or a heavy bake) and your concealer won't crease ALL DAY, promise!!!
I’ve been doing setting spray mixed with my tinted moisturizer since this summer and i love it! don’t do it every day but when i need a long lasting look it really makes a difference! loving lanmas :)
@@Melissababy5 i do it on the back of my hand! definitely test first and make sure they mix well before applying on your face, but i’ve done it with my benefit porefessional spray, with glow screen, and my laura mercierntinter moisturizer
The skin looks amazing! I find baking difficult for my skin and my age but have used La Roche a Posay thermal spring water to re-hydrate and then urban decay setting spray to lock in. Honestly, by the end of the night, it unravels again.
I recently started using the kiehls avacado undereye cream, it’s helped me a lot with not having my under eyes look dry once I put powder on! Have you tried it before??
from a gal with dry skin, id recommend patting your beauty blender or powder puff w/ loose powder on it into the lid of the cup so that you don't get the "chunks" of powder on your face. Its similar to having foundation on your brush and blending the foundation into your hand before applying to the skin. It also allows for a more blurred effect. (sorry if my description was confusing)
Would love to see you continuing use of the foundation and concealer :) I think I will try the concealer method, but as a fellow dry gal, unlikely to try the powder techniques
Allana! Ive been doing the sprayed beauty blender to set the under eyes technique for years now, the trick is spray one side of your bb and leave the other dry-ish. When you go to pat under the eyes use the dampened side and then slightly go over with the drier side, trust me it works! Also, a good trick i use is afterwards i spray another glowing setting spray on my bb then press it to the high points of the face to melt the highlighter into the skin and give it a wet look 😍
Love Lammas so much. Also, you are not the only one baking doesn’t work for🥺🥺 I know how you feel LAN💕 *ordering that concealer as I see ALLANA approve it😂*
Would love to see you test beauty treatments of different types! Even over the counter options would be great. Also, great effort on following the tutorial but I'm a die hard for your glowy looks 💜
Hey Allana I had your same issue with powders and I fixed it by using a powder puff rather than the beauty blender! Is a game changer believe me!!! The Laura Mercier Puff is amazing for that. Here is the process: 1. Fill the powder puff with powder 2. Press the product in your hand until there is barely any left 3. Start pressing the product on your face with the powder puff. A GAME CHANGER!!! 💓💓💓
I’ve heard to set with a regular setting powder (pressed) then spray setting spray let dry then go in with ur loose powder. I’ve tried it and works great !
I am so tempted to try the synchro skin foundation. I will try spraying my makeup brush with my hourglass setting spray next time and see how the base goes.
Your brows are so wonderfully fluffy here! I love the concealer-after method; it makes everything more seamless somehow. The powders, though.. could have stopped at one XD
This was such a fun video. I was literally in tears 😭 with your commentary. I’m not a makeup baker because I don’t like too much powder on my face, makes me look to made up which is never a look I go for.
I love love love skincare video lol we please more skin products and treatments would be awesome. Also Loved the Jean video because jeans are so hard to find.
I love seeing makeup techniques/hacks & Kevin is good. What I do rather spray my sponge is I'll go in with setting spray per usual, but the key here is to let it ALMOST dry & take your sponge & very lightly tap it all over your face to really set everything in & bring back some glow. This little trick has made a nice difference for me 👍. I get that bald patch, but I think changing up what I said above actually helps. I'm the same when it comes to powder Lan. I never "bake" (unless it's a cake) lolol & just dust a bit of powder in my t-zone & my eyes & dats about it!! Loving LANMAS 🥰💚❤ Xoxo 🤗
Girl- I’m a dry gal too. Honestly I bake everywhere except my under eyes. I find baking works best for me when there aren’t too many layers under as well!
I have really dry skin in winter so when I set with powder, I use the damp beauty blender and press in a very sparing amount of powder, going slowly until it's set enough. If I do too much I look cakey the whole day!
Lol !! It’s Funny on how all the The emotions that we all just went through watching you do this like talk about emotional roller coaster but it looks very pretty on you

I love seeing you trying new techniques 😍 I wanna try it too! your skin looks like velvet and soft i love it!! I have to try the abh concealer for sure!!
You loom fab with or without the baking! Just one thing about your lighting, I have the feeling the light on your right side is so bright, is it just me? Maybe but anyways thank you for blessing us with LanMas! 💋
I feel you with the baking, even when I moisturize heavily if I do too much powder my nose will pill off like a crepe-y old lady ☹️ maybe it’s just not for dry girls like us. I loved the Dior lip glow you used, what color was it? I must also say, your makeup looked flawless at the end so I’m following Kevin Kodra! 💕✨🔥🙌🏼
You are so funny 😂 You did an amazing job ! And I think you’re doing the baking like you should but I’m definitely no expert, Still beautiful either way

This was so much fun! Forgot to comment on it when I watched it but here I am on UA-cam commenting on your recent video so… I’m in my 50s, not particularly dry skin but fairly dry in the winter. I cannot find a single solitary powder that I can put under my eyes that does not bring out the fine lines. But I love you for trying it for the rest of us. 🙌🏻
Hi darling! Game changer for me is the new palette by terry for mattyfing, blurring. I pick-up that palette two or 3 months ago and I never stop to use it! Four color that matching itself beautiful and not cake effects, no dry skin! It’s fantastic! I don’t like Laura Mercier it’s an hold concept of cipria for me… Do u try Charlotte Tilbury magic away concelear?!

I have really dry and wrinkly under eyes too and I finally figured how to make baking work for me, first I blend out my concealer immediately after applying because letting the concealer dry is not dry skin friendly it will turn into a goopy mess under my eyes, and for the actual powder baking I use a damp mini blending sponge to pick up a good amount of powder (without taking off the excess) and then press it under my eyes, it slowly will sink into my skin and then you can wipe excess off depending on personal preference.

Hi Allana, love the foundation on you!! I’m also a dewy girl so baking is not my thing. I much prefer an all over Dew! That Mskeup By Mario blush is gorgeous!!! I need it ☺️. Can’t wait till tom video!!
The Tarte Maneater liquid blush is a great dupe for the Charlotte tilbury! And baking only works on camera, it never looks good in person lol plus it’s not necessary! You only need a small amount of powder for it to keep your makeup in place
Yay I love these types of vids ♥️. I wouldn’t worry about baking it’s really bad for many people. I’ve always sprayed on my beauty blender and patted my skin. That always works better for me.
I used to hate baking, I have *dry* under eyes. I don’t know where I got this from but I decided to apply a heavy hydrating under eye cream before applying concealer and oh my god, my concealer glided so smoothly and the baking looked so good, not dry whatsoever. I don’t bake everyday but now I have to put under eye cream whenever I put makeup on. It may or may not work for you on your baking journey, just thought I’d let you know what worked for me 🤗
When you tapped your brush after dipping it to your cream blush 😂 I do that too. Habit I guess Also thanks for this video because I’m the only person who doesn’t use TikTok and now I want to do everything this Kevin person does 👏🏽
💓Hello Allan’s rammaaaa💓So nice to see you once again❣️I love these types of videos ya do👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼edit: YES do the vampire facial🙌🏼that’d make for a really good one.
This is beautiful. Fun to try. Baking doesn’t get along with my dry, aging skin. Bronzer followed by blush finished with highlight is what I’ve done for years. I think it’s the best order if you want contour not bronzing. Some good tips here. :)
The tiktok hacks and tutorials you do GIVE ME LIFE!! they're so fun and I love that you try the things I see and don't dare to try or I don't have the products for 💕
Choose one, either foundation or the corrector. The only baking in here is the christmas cookies type. I set my undereyes with mat eyeshadows if I need to.
This is was amazing and hilarious 😂😂😂... Maybe we could do a baking step by step tutorial one of these days P.s. I love when makeup tutorials go wrong.. it's like people falling, you know you should not be laughing, but you still do 😂
As a fellow dry skin gal, I’ve never been able to get baking to work for me, either. I’m so interested in that Shisedo foundation; Andrea Ali did a video using it and her skin looked flawless! Your skin looked so good with it also.
I feel the same way about baking as you do 😣I try and I try to no avail, and it just makes my skin look and feel so dry. His method looks great, I’ll give it a go and see if I get different results.
I CANNOT BAKE TO SAVE MY LIFE!!!! I have tried every single method I can’t get the hang of it at all 😭😭😭😭 you are not the only one!!! I have realllyyyy dehydrated skin!
I usually lather my face in oil and let in sit if I wear powder or bake. My current routine is Sonya Dakar omega oil, poreless primer, RMS foundation cream, Luminous silk powder foundation, and then I use the Maybelline poreless powder and I always get compliments on my skin. It looks flawless and is comfortable to wear. :)
I just wanna say I bought the KJH x Spectrum brushes because of you and oh WOW are they ever incredible 😍 will definitely be picking up some Rephr brushes in the near future

It may or may not work for you on your baking journey, just thought I’d let you know what worked for me 🤗
What eye cream do you use?
When you tapped your brush after dipping it to your cream blush 😂 I do that too. Habit I guess
Also thanks for this video because I’m the only person who doesn’t use TikTok and now I want to do everything this Kevin person does 👏🏽
💓Hello Allan’s rammaaaa💓So nice to see you once again❣️I love these types of videos ya do👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼edit: YES do the vampire facial🙌🏼that’d make for a really good one.
love this type of video. i always try to follow tutorials and they never turn out the same lol
appreciate u
This is beautiful. Fun to try. Baking doesn’t get along with my dry, aging skin. Bronzer followed by blush finished with highlight is what I’ve done for years. I think it’s the best order if you want contour not bronzing. Some good tips here. :)
"A DRIED UP CRYPT KEEPER"!!!!! EASILY the funniest thing I've heard today lol!!!!!!!
Maybe we could do a baking step by step tutorial one of these days
P.s. I love when makeup tutorials go wrong.. it's like people falling, you know you should not be laughing, but you still do 😂
I am getting Snow White vibes from this makeup look ❄💙
As a fellow dry skin gal, I’ve never been able to get baking to work for me, either.
I’m so interested in that Shisedo foundation; Andrea Ali did a video using it and her skin looked flawless! Your skin looked so good with it also.
I feel the same way about baking as you do 😣I try and I try to no avail, and it just makes my skin look and feel so dry. His method looks great, I’ll give it a go and see if I get different results.
Loved the video !!! and yes pleaaaase try more beauty treatments i'd love to see it😍😍
I CANNOT BAKE TO SAVE MY LIFE!!!!
Ummmmm so I definitely paused your video and went down a Kevin Kodra hole 😂 His hair is also perfect! Haha love your video as always!
I love that you’re willing to try new techniques. It turned out looking really good. Powders scare me though lol
I love applying concealer after cream contour/bronzer. I learned that from Katie Jane Hughes as well!
I just wanna say I bought the KJH x Spectrum brushes because of you and oh WOW are they ever incredible 😍 will definitely be picking up some Rephr brushes in the near future
I just have to say again that I love your sense of humor!! Xoxo
I love how you just doubt how you’re looking and then proceed to apply mascara and lipstick LOL! I still think it looks flawless on you. And I love your sweater btw ♥️
Allana, watching u freak out had me laughing out loud. Really sorry for laughing at u but it was hilarious 😂
I’m totally with you on the baking journey, I can’t make it work somehow AND I have oily/combination skin! Loving Lanmas so much!!
