Thank you for watching this video. The 1996 Mississippi St. Bulldogs were one of my favorite NCAA basketball teams so I appreciate your viewership. Thank you so much.
This team wasn't even ranked at the end of the regular season, wasn't on TV very often and was considered a nondescript 8-9 seed most of the year in Bracketology. But they sure earned that Final Four trip, convincingly beating 3 of the Top 7 ranked teams in the span of 5 games. They, like a lot of teams in the NCAA Tournament over the years, fell victim to having never faced the Syracuse zone before in the Final Four.
Thank you so much for the comment. I enjoyed reading it. I was a Temple fan back in the day, and conversely from Syracuse, Temple had some tough or surprising losses in the tournament with some teams getting hot with against their matchup zone defense. Thanks again, enjoy the holidays and be safe.
Yeah, I loved Dontae' back then. He was fun to watch. I wish he had a better NBA career. Thank you so much for the comment. I greatly appreciate it and thank you for watching the video.
Great content, I really liked this team as well. I wanted the final to be UMASS vs Mississippi State but unfortunately that didn’t happen and Kentucky won the whole thing in 96. Great Stuff.
Thank you so much. I appreciate the comment so much. UMASS was tough that year. They beat UK earlier in the season. UMASS and MSU would have also been interesting. Thanks again for watching and the comment.
Great video. I was a recent MSU grad back then and went to the Final Four. Still trying to reconcile all the turnovers Bullard had against the zone. Darryl Wilson is my all time favorite college player and that team will NEVER be forgotten by me...
Awesome comment. I enjoyed reading it and I'm glad you enjoyed the video. It means a lot to me. I loved that MSU team. Darryl Wilson and his unique shooting style. He was fun to watch. Thanks for watching the video.
@@TheBobbyBlack_615 Thank you so much for telling me that. Great to know he is doing well. I absolutely loved him as MSU. Especially vs. Kentucky and in the NCAA Tournament. But also, I hope all is well with you and you yourself is also doing great. Have a great weekend.
Darryl Wilson was a beast. I played most of the Mississippi State players in pickup games in the summers while attending Mississippi State. My lowly intramural team wan many championships; shout out to No Fear! 😝 Anyway, Darryl was unstoppable; he was a walking bucket.
Thank you so much Travis for commenting and watching the video. Sorry for replying late. I really enjoyed watching Wilson play even though he had unique shooting form. But I really enjoyed reading your comment. Thanks for posting it. Enjoy the college basketball season.
Great job Sir. Sat in my seat in the Meadowlands crying during the Kentucky-UMASS game because I knew that would be our best chance to win the National Championship. Make no mistake... KY didn't want to play State again.... Thanks again... Great memories from NYC for the week of my 33rd birthday....
Thank you so much for the comment and the kind words. I greatly appreciate it and I enjoyed reading your comment. I understand the end results are not what you wanted but that's great you went to a Final Four. I never got the chance to go to one. Thanks again for the comment and enjoy the tournament.
Thank you for your comment. I greatly appreciate. I enjoyed watching this Miss. St. team so much. When March comes around, I think about this team a lot. Thank you so much and take care.
Great video and channel man. Have you thought of doing more College Football teams of the 90's? I noticed you wearing a VT shirt, so those late 90's Hokies defense with Beamer were insane and of course Mike Vick leading the charge for a Natty appearance. I go there for grad school now and I went to Penn State for undergrad and those 90's teams were great too, especially the one that went undefeated and didn't even play for the Natty. Great content, can't wait for more
Typhoon Boom, thank you so much for this awesome comment. It made my day, I have a lot to say to you so here I go: I probably should do more college football in the 90s, but I get dinged for copyright claims. For some reason, the footage from college football is tough to proceed with. I would love to do a Nebraska history in the 90s as they seemed unstoppable to me and do a video on one of my favorite college football players - Michael Bishop (by the way what college football players did you like in the 90s). Next, I became a Virginia Tech fan during their 93 season and against Indiana in the Independence Bowl, because I really liked their maroon and neon orange color scheme. I know that is a weird reason to like a team. (What college football teams did you like?). Then, in the mid-late 90s, CBS had the SEC games and the Big East games, and I used to love watching VT play Syracuse and Miami before Vick came in '99. But I loved watching the Hokies in '99. Unfortunately, they could not stop Chris Weinke and FSU in the 4th quarter. But please tell what teams and players you liked in the 90s. I am so thankful that you like the content. Be safe out there and take care.
@@90sSportsNostalgia Appreciate the words man, yeah that is hard with copyright strikes and claims. As far as college football goes, I feel as though anything would be great, huge college football fan and Nebraska is a good point too. Dontae Jones was NICEEE in college...wish he woulda had a longer career in the NBA. I think he got picked by the wrong team where he could just play freely and get more minutes like how he did in college

The Mississippi State Bulldogs Men's Basketball team should've never been considered forgotten back in the year of 1996.
