I come here every now and then just to be reminded that somethin bout the ol skool singers- the vocal dynamics weren’t for show - they really was tryna save you- not amaze you..🙏🏾
She kills this everytime. Even now today! But this is by far the best time she ever sang this song. There's something about ALL the songs on this Video. They were anointed that night with something special.
It's sad that people only know singers like Kim Burrell in the gospel world and try singing like her. Kim is awesome but I prefer this type of talent form Kim McFarland.
The Unforgettable voice and choir song!!! It just ENCOURAGED everybody that heard in back in the day!! She ministers this song! She probably still sings this nowadays, no doubt....Thanks Kim McFarland for letting God use U! Never met her before but I met Darius Brooks a little when he came to Portland, OR (2004) and briefly talked to him. The Thompson Community Choir rocked that Gospel (80's and early 90's.) YEEAAH!
Well I done shouted off this hymn for years, but today was my first time seeing the person, who sang it. It's a very old song, but it still got power to stimulate one's mind and will.
PFFFFFFFFFFWWWWW!!!! My head explodes with this girl's voice. What beauty, depth, power, and vulnerabilities she glides between. Supreme control, diction, pitch, range, and commitment to the verses. Today you basically have entertainers and performers rather than ministers of music. There's no power or anointing in the music today, just a lot of fanfare and voice acrobats. Wait a minute!!! Say MAHAILIA JACKSON!!! That dead woman still knows how to keep me up all night screaming HALLELUJAHS !!! Especially when she sings "LIVE"!!! That woman did some European Concerts during the 1950's to 60's. Now l don't know if the people was "bothering" with her or if she was "bothering" with them! But they could not get enough of her !!! I so want to assemble a Gospel choir of truly annointed, holy singers to sing the Great choir songs of the 80's, songs that TRULY TRULY GLORIFIED GOD!! This is truly a heart's desire of mines!!
If anybody knows about gospel music in the 80's, the Tommies were the best at the songs. They had the best singers and vocalists and songs that touched your soul. Most, if not, all church and community choirs song their songs.
This song as well as In My Name have been one of the many things and ways God has gotten me through some ofmy absolute. worst days. I LOVE YOU LORD AND KNOW THERE'S MORE TO BE DONE
The song that you are speaking of is 'I Don't Know" recorded by Greater Williams Temple COGIC of my home town Saginaw MI under the direction of Dr. Mattie Moss Clark I have the cassette and I will try to post it within the next 2 days.
The Incomparable majestic vocalist. What a voice that the angels even envy. The legendary iconistic song bird. Madam Kim McFarland. Not a showoff, just incomparable.....
I finally. see this Kim McFarland after all these years. It was a blessing to finish college talking this tape everywhere I went along with my Commissioned. I tried to sing it, but my anointed voice will be in heaven.
You know what is right and what is wrong when you know better you do better the bible says we are drawn by the lusts of our own flesh that is our temptation not being able to control our own urges you know God trust him in every phase of your life and stop acting like you don't know him because he still knows you. Aunt Linda
After all these years, this song has not lost its power! Ms. McFarland and the Thompson Community Singers are ALL THAT!!!!!! It will work out for the god of them who love the LORD!!!!!
Over 30 years ago we walk in to a church in Hammond La. She wipe our whole choir out we was outside so fast in the first 45 minutes powerful anointed voice and it have not changed may God continues to bless her
Just me saying. Only 2 people can really Sang this gospel song. This angel and the late Daryle Coley. Both of them are a 🏆 for singing this. The choir is the icing on the 🎂
I am 27 yrs old and I kniw this song from the beginnig to end..my dad had me listen and me AND MY SISTER SING TIS ALL THE TIME.....HES RESTED NOW BUT iKNOW THAT I WILL BE PREPARED!! GOD BLESS
I love this song so much and the young lady who singing Lord have mercy my God l came across the song on UA-cam it definitely my inspiration to know God is my refuge and strength in the time of trouble
Yes, there is one young lady back at my old community choir in middle GA. That heffa song this song at one of our anniversaries and she killed it!! That church was sooo tore up, man. After she finished singing the song, she was still singing back in the choir stand.
no matter how many times i watch this, i absolutely CANNOT get tired of it!! this has gotten me through plenty of alone nights while I'm at school. it's hard being away from my family and i just get sad sometimes. thank you, Kim, for letting the Lord use you to minister to His children, and thank you @ReverendTy for posting this!
Here in 2020 enjoying what we called in the day true gospel singing. Oh let us all go back come out of this pandemic worshipping God in Spirit and in Truth. Churches, Choirs, Soloist, Groups and even Pastors stop the performing and worship God as He should be worshipped 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾 in the true beauty and reverance if His holiness
Oh I remember This song!!! SANG KIM!!! She is one THE MOST POWERFUL & ANOINTED Singers in the History of Gospel Music! How come they don't Sang like this in Church No Mo??? :( Help Us JESUS!
I grew up listening to her!! I even got to lead her song with my little church choir back in the day :-) This song got me through some though times! Kim McFarland is an awesome inspiration!!! Praise God for you and your gift! Thanks Rev. M. Brunson and the Thompson Community Choir!!
Every time she covers this it's an original I still have the album in its sleeve as if I just bought it. I was 14 then the album cut is just God sent, I love her song intercession as well, wanted to sing it at my brothers funeral but couldn't bear the strength...they don't sing like this no more, growing up was the best of times I sure miss it
Lord I thank you for it working out...no matter what I go through...it works out. RIP my dear Parents. Until we meet again. This is, by far, one of my favs. Words cannot convey how I feel about true Gospel. I really miss this choir. Now on to Pam Crawford and 'Safe In His Arms'. Stay safe...
I Love this choir...I remember seeing them live at Wembly Conference Center in London...Their set was cut short because Fred Hammond the opening act was on stage too long..He was good..but everyone had come to see the Tommies..When the conference center turned on the lights while they were on stage because they wanted to close there was major disappointment and booing from all...But the time they were on stage, they were pure class, just awesome....Just glad i got to see them live..even if it was cut short...!
i sang this song as a liitle boy in my church junior choir lol i could hit them notes at 8 and would crush it i loved makeing the church go wild cryn and all that as a kid now im 37 u cant pay me to sing Lord Help
This truly blessed my soul!!!!! They simply don't make gospel music like this anymore. Good choirs are extinct but the Tommies use to be one that you so looked forward to hearing from. Loved it!!!
From the very first note this sister uttered, I knew she was in a league that very few gospel singers can enter. This is a master class in how to sing a gospel song from the heart and with absolute and sheer excellence. BTW, love this song! It always blesses me and uplifts. God bless all involved in making bringing this song to the Church.
That's from the soul! True singing. This was the back in the day when the choir director told you the following: "I said SANG!" We only used the piano first. We had an organ, but it was used when we learned the song w/o paper. Hope you enjoyed the comment. Loved the video.
OMG this takes me BACK! My mom used to play this in the car on the way to church or when we she was around the house cleaning se would put it on the record player!
The Tommies were the Choir to follow, I remember whenever they came to our town it was a sellout! We used to go to Chicago for their Anniverseries too! Such an annointed group, and so many talented people that were in that group and no big egoes!!!! Praise God for that! That's way the were able to go on to successful solo ventures!!!
this was my father's favorite song and I plan to sing it and put it on you tube.God Bless His Soul I Love you Dad!! Very Very spiritual song i love her...amen!!
i just dont get why i keep finding this song i never heard of but not the one im looking for with similar lyrics " the race is not given , given to the swift , neither to the strong , neither to the strong , but to them that endureth till the end...and the trials come my way , every day , i keep on , pressing on.
I've always loved the Tommies. Thanks for posting one of Kim McFarland's classics. I like all the songs she led-In My Name, I Tried Him, and Thank You. These will forever be classics. Wow, that just took me back.
I love, love this song. "It will work out for the good of them who love the Lord." What a gift God as bless this sister with. The Kingdom has awesome talents. Thank you Jesus. Thank you for posting.
Still listening to this song 2024 Praise God🤲🏾
They don't make them like this anymore....sad😔
Yes they do I'm right here😂🤗 she thought me how to sing
Sure don't!
I come here every now and then just to be reminded that somethin bout the ol skool singers- the vocal dynamics weren’t for show - they really was tryna save you- not amaze you..🙏🏾
Indeed brother!!
You can say that again! It wasn’t about fame and fortune
She kills this everytime. Even now today! But this is by far the best time she ever sang this song. There's something about ALL the songs on this Video. They were anointed that night with something special.
Amen!
And most Gospel songs do not have the anoiting in them anymore.
It's sad that people only know singers like Kim Burrell in the gospel world and try singing like her. Kim is awesome but I prefer this type of talent form Kim McFarland.
Yesssss I totally agree with you I grew up on the tommies my uncle use to sing with them
To be fair, this is the Clark Sisters style of singing. Having said that, she does it beautifully!
Egyptian_Thoth Personally I'm not into Kim Burrell. She just does runs and more runs. No versatility to her voice.
right not too many runs and pure vocal genius💯💯
I love her singing
This was the choir that all choirs emulated in the 80's... Thank God for Rev. Milton, Darius, and The Tommies....
When I watched and heard Ms McFarland, I knew something was moving through her that was not of this world. Just, WOW.
This girl was so underrated during her prime
The Unforgettable voice and choir song!!! It just ENCOURAGED everybody that heard in back in the day!! She ministers this song! She has a Pace sister texture in her voice. Love this!
TWeathers78 I thought I was the only one that thought that! That girl can blow
It's strong, beautiful, and sweet sounding.
That light bright Leslie Pace sound and texture lol
Yes she does
Still 🔥 in 2k18 🙌🙏
Exquisite843 no you're not
Well I done shouted off this hymn for years, but today was my first time seeing the person, who sang it. It's a very old song, but it still got power to stimulate one's mind and will.

Incomparable indeed...and only because there is no stronger superlative!! Love me some Kim McFarland!
Monster. Whew!
I thought she would have gone on and became a gospel artist. I was so looking forward to more from her! Kim McFarland.
All the lead singers in this group were anointed!
PFFFFFFFFFFWWWWW!!!! My head explodes with this girl's voice. What beauty, depth, power, and vulnerabilities she glides between. Supreme control, diction, pitch, range, and commitment to the verses. It makes all the difference in the world when you hear the message in the song through the anointed vocalist!!!
It was originally recorded or at least released in 1988 on Rev. Brunson's "Available To You" album

Well just SANG!
God bless all involved in making bringing this song to the Church.
love love love love love this version, fantastic song, great voice, impecable choir...
Absolutely no one compare to ..Ms. McFarland❤❤❤
My testimony....Thank you Father!
Amen! Beautiful lead singers voice, and a great choir and arrangement!Ecclesiastes 9:11
I saw this in 96 for the first time, and she blew me away. I wanted to marry her,but I'm not going to the chi'
God will work it all out for me. Amen! Praise the Lord, Everybody!!!!
she is my favorite gospel singer of all time she is truly have a gift form our king Jesus above sang kim
I've always loved Kim! Kim if you read this, you are so awesome! I pray that you are still using your voice for God!
Still true in 2021 during the pandemic. Bless the Lord.
