Absolutely. And it is brilliant from the beginning. When Rob Grant left, it lost a bit. But Red Dwarf on a bad day was funnier and more accurate in theoretical physics theories than “The Big Bang Theory” could ever dream haha...I grew up with Red Dwarf. Nigel Planer (Smedley) is fabulous in this episode. The scene where he keeps repeating what Tim McCennery says is priceless........."Damn those organized killahs"! 😉😉 And, the introduction of Mrs Miggins, (mentioned, but not seen in Blackadder II) was a masterstroke. She gets some of the best lines!

The 'Terror' saw the brutal massacre and murder of 'at least' 35,000 to 45,000 perceived enemies of the revolution including most royalty, aristocrats and nobility as well as political prisoners, intellectuals, and anti-revolutionary sympathisers in an extraordinary short space of time between September 1793 and July 1794 (although there are suggestions the killings carried on for some time after Robespierre was overthrown and executed.) Stan Lee read the novel and liked the idea of a hero with a hidden identity and a meek alter-ego ... and it contributed to his idea of Superman. Lee called The Scarlett Pimpernell 'The First Superhero'. It is also though that Zorro is modelled after him.
The period of the series is pretty much after the War of Independence and King George III going mad until a bit after the Napoleonic Wars (~1780-1820). Revolutionary/Imperial France actually mostly won wars and rose to the height of its power during this period - only to eventually be defeated in the end. The concept of 'France is rubbish at war' is a comparatively new concept - their rapid collapse and surrender in the Franco-Prussian War and the Second World War have cast a terrible shadow over their history of determined resistance in the First World War and their status as the premier great power of Europe since the days of Charlemagne...until the rise of Germany that only united in the 1870s. (Technically, the US is older than Germany, as a country, by almost a century. Similarly, Italy is a newer country having only formed in the 1860s.)

These days, France is much better for having disposed of its monarchy and done away with a fawning attitude to people who inherited land from their families going back 300 or 400 hundred years ago. Much of Europe makes a very great job of speaking a second or third language, whereas many people in the UK think eveyone should speak English. The UK has a looong way to go!
There's always been insults from and to the English because we're neighbours and mostly cousins, and so also rivals, but it really ramped up after they refused to join the coalition against Iraq and Afghanistan after 9/11 because they claimed there was a lack of evidence against Sadam's regime, which was perfectly true. Once the American PR campaign for war fixed on them being occupied in WWII, it swung into action against the 'cheese eating surrender monkeys', and then the truth became a diminishing resource. Hard to hear the voice of reality over the sound of drums being beaten.
You may wish to research history a bit more. Historically the French are actually the most successful at War since 1495. They just haven't done well recently...

The title of this caused a little confusion. Nob and Nobility holds the answer right there. Us English like confusing people with our language so we have two slang words that sound the same - nob and knob. They sound the same but mean different things. Knob is a dick. Nob is a perjorative for the wealthy upper classes. A contraction of noble or nobility. Of course, most of us plebs think that all nobs are knobs. 😁
Yup, had some whilst I was over in France, pretty much like chicken as people say, which means a fairly mild flavour and its mainly the sauce you taste. Drew the line at trying snail though.
I think the problem is the cruelty aspect they're so bland in flavor, I'd argue even less flavor than chicken that they're not ticking any culinary boxes so there's no "excuse" for the animal abuse.
I don't want to eat snails, but I have eaten various molluscs that live in the sea. That speaks of a cultural thing where X is Ok but Y is not, even though Y is quite close to X.
