RIP, George...merci beaucoup. Thoughts and prayers for all your loved ones and fans of your music worldwide.
R. I. P George.
Forever Your Hummingbird
George Winsto both gave us a gift and left us a gift of his music. For me, it has helped me feel joy, sorrow, courage and peace. If there's a piano in the afterlife he's playing it. Cheers and thanks to you GW
This piece is far trickier than it sounds. The string mutes, those merciless single-note and double-note tremolos…. and of course, the runs Mr. Winston refers to in his notes to this clip. Hats off, sir, is one of my very favorite originals of yours.
Thank you so much for sharing your gifts.
Beautiful!
Beautiful song as usual...No piano artist can really reach George Winston's passion and fluid beauty in his music
This song brings me so much joy
Fav song by him! Beautiful!

Two notes about that piano playing mode at the moment 2:07 to 2:13 (or 3:05 to 3:30) which is a bit like playing hammered dulcimer:
1) That is a very pleasant mode that we Iranians have heard in many Iranian songs for example, the song "Whirlwind In Autumn" (→ ua-cam.com/video/uYGG-jlrkmE/v-deo.html) by the great Iranian composer "Fariborz Lachini".
2) George Winston also played this piece exactly in his other song "Blossom/ Meadow" from the album 1982_Winter Into Spring.
