  • This video showcases Day 5 of our ATV FUN Crew crossing Newfoundland by ATV trip, Gander To Riverfront Chalets.
It was an epic 9-day adventure (2 travel days and 7 riding days). The ride started in Argentia and finished in Port Aux Basques. It took us 1131 Km through some of the most beautiful countryside with frequent stops in the most scenic spots along the T'Railway Provincial Park.
On Day 5 we travelled from Deer Lake to Corner Brook. The big stops for the day were the Lomond Sinkhole, Cloudy Pond, Goose Arm and finally finishing the day in Corner Brook. Another epic ride day!
For any avid ATV or Side by Side rider this should be at the top of your bucket list for riding in Canada!
This is 5 of 9 in the series of videos documenting our entire trip. There are also over 500 photos available for viewing on my website at:

Nice episode!! Yeah the camera doesn't show the elevation changes as they are.
Take a run to Cox's Cove the next time.

Beautiful ride. What apps do you run for navigating on the rock?

IT really is a great adventure, I highly recommend it. I've planned another trip across for myself, the wife and 8 other friends this August. there are a few different apps that would work fine but I prefer the GAIA app on an iPad (there's an app for android as well). I leek the variety of maps it offers and the track/route creation tools are excellent. I've been running it on al old iPad Air 2 (from 2014 I believe it is) but just upgraded to an iPad Pro 11" that I'll be using now. I also have the same app on my iPhone and have it as a backup just I incase :)

@@robtucker856 glad to be of help, however little :) Definitely do some research and looking at the maps as there are a LOT of trails in and around that area for sure. Worthwhile to follow some of the local FB groups and the like as well for the most current info.

Is the rail bed between Deer lake and Corner Brook now open?

It's not the rail bed but there is some good/easy trail and some dirt roads that connect Deer Lake and Corner Brook.

@Rodney Hickey ok so you don't have to take the sinkhole trail, is there another route with road names we can follow? We are looking or easy route to Corner Brook

@@OpenAirAdventure I'm not sure how many ways there are to get from DL to CB but we took Goose Arm Road heading out of DL. That road ends and becomes a trail. Eventually that trail comes to an intersection as yo head across a small bridge. We went Right there to the sinkhole but if you go left it takes you towards CB, passing Cloudy Pond.

@Rodney Hickey ok thank you, my wife is nervous on rough trails and not looking to get stuck with her lol. I'll look at those routes you gave me on my phone.
