  • This is the restoration of a really old benchtop drill press. It was in pretty rough condition. I've replaced all the bearings, shaft, wiring, belt... well basically everything that needed to be done. Maybe I just didn't get the colour right?

Great looking restoration I also like the color you used I think you nailed it on color it looks like the old school heavy equipment color you would see back in the 60's and 70's. You have a good eye for detail. Enjoyed the video keep them coming. Thanks

Having total flashback to 7th grade wood shop class right now. Think 1993 or something. It was my homeroom too so an extra hour a day plus an hour of reading time. Only class in school where you had to read at a woodworking table and not a desk. Lol. But I remember the drill press the most.

Fantastic job and result! There's one thing though, see if you can invest in a proper (ratcheting) crimp tool for the electrical crimp connections. Relying on just your muscles and flattening them with regular pliers is not the right way. Thumbs up for applying heat shrink over them though. While normally not necessary, it's paying nice attention to detail. When the wires come loose, the wires will be held in place at least.
