You have probably worked this out by now,but Make sure your bonfire glow plug in the air intake is actually on fire when you go to start the engine! A blow torch flame in the intake will work if not when you crank it! Because you had a mechanic he would have made sure you have fuel at the injector
I would have guessed fuel shut off soleniod not working because that happened to me on my skid steer with the same engine. I converted it to manual shut down

Try spraying some wd40 down the air intake and put a heat gun behind it.
