Ok, but how did you get this ending? By giving the amulet first or by the choices you made earlier in the game? I didnt have Echo in the end game when I played, it was another mage

If you mean the mage from "So You Think You Can Save A Princess?", I sent him to jail when he was doing errand. He got mad at Lil and called her a "SMAGGLE". Then he joined the DARK SIDE :V (You will see him again in the wedding).
Meanwhile losing the war is very simple. Just mess up the recruitment on all 3 stages.
I think amulet bits only change what the villain will say to Lil.

Steal a birthday gift from his friend. Then talk and convince him to give up on being mage.

@@MakinaIcy I figured it out, use the Metal Detector on Jullian and Confiscate the gem in Level 8 and just Lie to Gary on the second point when he asks you about the crystal and Doubt Gary on the third point in Level 11
