After the divorce from Eddie, Debbie married twice to a couple of losers who pretty much screwed her over financially, especially her last husband, who broke her pension plan. According to Carrie Fisher, her mother (Debbie) said to her one day Debbie: "You know, dear? Eddie's starting to look more like the good husband." 😂 That's a great line!
Here's another great line from Carrie, regarding the long-standing rumors about Debbie being a lesbian (she was!): "She's not a lesbian. She's just a very bad heterosexual." Todd himself spilled the beans about his mother and Agnes Moorehead. Another Carrie joke that's probably still up on TY, about when Elizabeth was heartbroken about Mike Todd's sudden death: "Eddie rushed to her side to comfort her... with his penis."
All of the tumultuous drama in Elizabeth's romantic life! All the disappointment in Debbie's! And yet in the end they produced one of the most beautiful love stories in Hollywood history --- the one written in that photograph.
Elizabeth didn’t answer the phone when Debbie rang the hotel - Eddie did. Debbie pretended she was an operator transferring a call from Dean Martin. It’s in Debbie’s bio.
Todd gets straight to the point! Where as Cat takes too long getting to the point by her hemming & hawing around looking for the right words to make her Point.
@@1028dianemarie Welcome to our little world where there is always love and fun to be had. I started this show at my desk 5 nights a week when we were first locked down, my intention was to just be together through a scary time and love each other. The lockdown was only supposed to be for a few weeks. A few weeks turned into months and then a year in many states. Todd joined me after walking through my office one night and asked who I was talking to. He sat down and started to tell stories with me. Hence, Our second show, Cat and Todd LIVE was born. I kept my life talks on Friday nights and then joined Todd for Saturday nights in the theater. The show took off and it’s over 4 years now. We really appreciate you (and all of you) being here. SO thank you for the kind words… and God Bless you!
@@catandtoddlive what a lovely message. Thank you so much for taking the time out of your day to reply to me. Not only are you lovely but what a fantastic son Debbie raised. Much love to you both.💜💜💜💜
It’s Saturday and I’ve just started watching. Wow! Loved Debbie the most. She was married 9 times. One was plenty for me! LOL I been single a long time. Turning 69 in about 3 mths. Hope I don’t get crazy and think about dating! LOL 😂 Have a great week. ✅🤣
I love your show big time!! I have always had a great passion for history since I was a child, and a passion reading about, listening to, stories on the Golden Age of Hollywood. Since I was a kid, I was and I still am glued reading about Hollywood related biographies, Hollywood history, on and on! Your show is truly a great thrill for me! It's awesome! It's a casual ambience, and conversation flow of amazing Hollywood stories, Insight, and primary and some secondary experiences interacting within the Hollywood environment. You both have this relaxed conversation, and you both seem to express what is on your minds from both of your personal observations. That is fantastic and very interesting. Also, I'm not saying this to be phony trying to kiss your rings because you two are famous, but honestly you two are fantastic to observe as a couple. You both just complement each other in a genuine way, and not in a phony way or being on. I think its truly lovely to see you two as a couple. I remember Ms. Renyolds mentioned in an interview that her ex-husband, Eddie Fisher was bi-polar? Would that explain why your father did some of things that he did? Also, in your father's book there is a part, which he said he and Ms. Talyor rented Mr. Tyrone Power's home and Mr. Fisher pointed out that Tyrone Power and his wife slept in separate bedrooms. Wasn't that common in many rich and famous households? Was he hinting that Tyrone Power might have been gay?
So glad that I discovered your channel this afternoon. This was fantastic! I'm subscribed now so I won't miss another minute. Thank you both for sharing your stories.
I recently found your channel and enjoy it immensely. I enjoy the history of your family, some information I'm hearing for the first time and some of you correcting the record. I like how you integrate the photos, the props and read quotes to tell the story. I look forward to more from you both, you have a great chemistry and take a fun approach to the subject. Thanks for sharing. P.S. your mom had a huge collection of film props and costumes would love to see video of anything you have to share.
Right after the breakup of Debbie and Eddie, she had a hit with the song (later sung by Engelbert Humperdink) called Am I That Easy To Forget. It did will. Everyone sympathized with her.
Carrie's one woman show that was on HBO was brilliant. She cleverly went into all the different relationships; the kids; the kids' spouses. She was funny and irreverent. God bless them all.
You're being naive, Debbie had her problems and imperfections and the reason for her marriage to Eddie has been questioned, and that is that their marriage was a "Hollywood" marriage between a pop star and the girl next door young actress that would have made headlines.
I see the Love, and Forgiveness coming from Debbie, because that is so obvious in the photo! But, I DON'T SEE ANY LOVE OR FORGIVENESS COMING FROM MS. TAYLOR TOWARD DEBBIE. And That's Obvious Too! Liz is Too Wrapped Up In HERSELF, which is Sorry but TRUE !!!!!
Did Debbie and Doris ever hang out together, because after what they both went through Financially, from the men they married, they sure should have. They had alot in common, because they were so trusting when it came to men, and especially trusting the wrong men!
My favorite movie she did was the Unsinkable Molly Brown. Her acting chops were excellent prior any and all her musicals. Her depth showed more to me in that film. Also, I could tell when she was really enjoying herself in certain scenes. I would NOT have wanted to work with Gene nor Fred-tyrants from hell!!! I know because I TRIED to get into dance in all forms and get onstage but I was too short! I still had to do all the things to get there. Was working to be the triple threat, but by then, bodies not of a certain type were getting rejected! Well, ya gotta eat!!! Anyway, all the dancing and musicals she was in were my favorites above all of them, where she was the star not another character. Thank you for sharing all you have and will, as there is STILL all of us who grew up watching her and new ones too!🙏🏻❤️😉🤔
Todd and Cat love your channel. I was a teenager when the whole world knew about Debbie/Liz/Eddie. Wish I still had my collection of old Photoplay magazines I had back then. They were full of stories about Eddies’s affair. I’m sure Hedda and Louella had a hay day with it. Interesting to hear what really happened.
As a young model in NYC, ONLY HERE 6 MONTHS... I was featured as a young PERFECT BODIED FITTING model in my agency THE FITTER'S AGENCY, Elizabeth Taylor was on the cover, with her then husband SENATOR John Warner. IT WAS THRILLING. I AM JODI ANN FRITZ- FRANKLIN, ICON PIONEER JOE FRANKLIN'S WIDOW..
Todd, my favorite movie of your mom's was The Unsinkable Molly Brown. The picture of your mom with Liz is beautiful ... your mom is full of love and forgiveness ❤️
I always thought Debbie was a remarkable woman. Loyal and very strong. She had to be strong to be in that business for as long as she was. I pretty much figured she and Elizabeth both knew what Eddie was all about, and decided to bury the hatchet.
Please let us know the air date of the BBC documentary when the project is finished 💙ps just my humble opinion, I feel like Elizabeth only married Eddie because it was the closest connection to Todd after losing him so devastatingly. I can absolutely understand that after losing my DH suddenly💙🖤
I really enjoyed listening to Todd's insights into the HBO program as well as his personal interactions with Elizabeth; however, I must say that Todd's wife was very distracting. She had a tendency to ramble about irrelevant information to the topic and clearly had nothing to contribute. Every time that I got engrossed in Todd's conversation, his wife would interject something or offer some comment that made me want to scream! Thank you for this post, Todd...........but, please.......choose the manner in which your wife participates in certain topics more carefully.
Liz hadva big cacacity fornlove but was a serial monogamist. I do not think there was a 'love ofbher life'. She loved being in love.SHORT attention span.
Once again; fantastic info; good points of view; interesting info; intriguing details; so glad you are presenting it all; but, still Todd; you need to take your foot off the gas; please: slow down; &, lower the voltage; the heat; the energy; because: you're coming on just ->way; ->way; ->way; too strong-!! Lastly; as much as I respect; admire; &, hold appeal for these stories; I reserve judgment on Eddie. I am just not, yet; convinced from the material that your presented here; that he was an, actual narcissist. Furthermore; both Liz; &, Richard may have been narcissists; too! A. I see what Todd sees in Catherine Hickland - she's highly intelligent and a VERY compassionate and understanding person! LOVE this video!

I also like the saying: ‘Rejection is a Re-Direction’.
What a grand woman Debbie was!
Elizabeth didn’t answer the phone when Debbie rang the hotel - Eddie did. Debbie pretended she was an operator transferring a call from Dean Martin. It’s in Debbie’s bio.
I adore you two...however you met through the Lord is a miracle...I pray for the same for myself . All the laughter...
Hi Todd & Cat! I love your old stories too. Amazing ♥️
Todd gets straight to the point! Where as Cat takes too long getting to the point by her hemming & hawing around looking for the right words to make her Point.
The two most sweetest actresses that were treated the worst by men, were dear Debbie Reynolds and Doris Day!
Just found your channel tonight and I am just loving these stories - and you two are absolutely delightful. Wishing you all the best. ❤

Great video. Nice to see something so positive coming out of “Hollywood”. Forgiveness is such an incredible gift that God allows us to experience.

Sorry to the cheaters out there, but cheaters are gross. Hats off to Debbie.

Agree. That had to be the biggest betrayal and humiliation for her. I’m so glad the women were able to find forgiveness and friendship.
Cat is so RIGHT in all she said. ❤
I love Cat’s observations on all of this. She is such a sweetheart. I think very much like her. God bless you Cat.

In my opinion Richard Burton was the only man that she chased, every other man chased her.

So interesting,bI loved it, thx
Did Eddie and Debbie reconcile before he died? Did he ever apologize to her?
Cat seems to be a discerning and intelligent woman.
Question: who received Carrie’s portion of Debbie’s will?
It most likely went to Carrie's daughter Billie.
I don't see Liz Hugging Debbie, or having Love for Debbie in any way in this Photo, sorry but I just don't see it !

Why does everybody call her Elizabeth and not Liz?
She always went by Elizabeth. Liz was a moniker attached to her by the tabloids way back then.
She used to say she HATED the nickname Liz. She said it sounded like hissing.
