I've heard and recently read that the population has been on the decline for the last 20 years. Around 50% is what I've seen mentioned. So I wasn't sure if they was planting or just trying to solve other problems to fix the issue. Personally I think wild trout are always best, but usually popular places like that end up getting stocked fish to help populations.
@@kingkiddfishing Stocking trout to restore a wild population usually negatively impacts the already threatened population of wild fish. The hatchery will compete with wild trout for food. Trout were stocked into the Bow around 100 years ago and overtime, theyve developed resistance to certain diseases that would kill stocked fish. An example of this would be a strain of trout in the US that has developed resistance against whirling disease. Fixing the 3 main problems (Entrainment in canals, water levels managed by transalta and angling, every fish is caught around 4 times and after the second time, the chance of survival decreases significantly)
We’re using flies Kuya, it’s another type of fishing and if you are using a spinning setup which I think you are, a rapala or a spinner should work for these trout... baits aren’t allowed tho
How do you like the guru s? I heard the drag knob is difficult to twist and does not have audible click. Do you find the drag knob turns on it own since it doesn’t have detents?
Hey the guru s if you like the loud colicky noise it’s for sure of the best options out there and the drag knob I haven’t had a problem with it really it’s easily adjustable and I’ve gotten use to it to the point that if the drag is too strong I can adjust it right on!! That comes with time tho for sure!!!
There is no need to handle the fish after you pull the hook. We are looking at the fish in the net and can tell how big it is. You could turn your net edge up and let them swim away. Unless your keeping them it’s better to keep the slim layer on the fishes skin. It’s just a simple better version of letting them go. It helps keep their resistance for disease.
Wow 👍👍👍

Summer comes it should be a bit better

It definitely needs some getting use to but the real is great I dropped it pretty high and on solid concrete and literally just scratches lol
