  • On May 25th, 2024 The ORFEO Orchestra, in collaboration with the MUSICA MUNDI SCHOOL, presented a concert with some of the most promising young talent in classical music. The MUSICA MUNDI SCHOOL is a school for exceptionally gifted children in classical music located in Belgium. The ORFEO Orchestra, a diamond in the Flemish cultural landscape, was conducted by it's chief conductor, Maestro Rik Ghesquière, concertmaster is Jo Vercruysse...
This segment highlights Antonio Vivaldi's concerto for two cellos in g-minor. The concerto is performed by 5 cellists from the class of renown French cellist, Claire Oppert. The first movement features the sisters Hai Qing Yang and Hoi Yuet Yang from China. The power and elegance in their playing is one of true sisterhood.
The second movement is played by Derin Topgul (Turkey) and Hai Qing Yang (China). This intimate work features the soloists as true chamber musicians, interacting with the orchestra and creating an unforgettably sombre and dignified sound.
The spectacular third movement is presented by Ephraim Taub (Switzerland) and Benjamin Cohen (France). The only word to describe this movement is 'fireworks'. These two young musicians meet the challenge and leave the audience at the edge of their seats.
