Hi Miko! Thank you so much for doing the money morning routine! I am learning so much from each one of them!!! Please keep them coming! They are so helpful and insightful! 🥰❤️😊
I just created my budget in my first-ever BBP workbook, and I'm so excited. I am a very visual person so I think the highlighter method is going to be a great fit for me. I was worried about starting my workbook in November, but I'm tired of putting off managing my money well, so I dove in and I think it will still work well. One thought I had was it would be cool if the yearly worksheets at the beginning of the book were left blank also so if someone is starting their workbook in a month other than Jan., They could track through the year without having to start at the end by writing the month in at the top. I love these videos, my new workbook, and my wallet!
I track everything, but I close out on Wednesday because we are paid every Thursday. Then I do a full close out at end of month. it's a lot of work but it is paying off ❤
Hey Miko, I believe you answers this question in a prior video but I don’t recall which. How do you consider pending transactions in your budget? Do you wait until it clears? Or do you just include those funds in your new month’s starting balance/budget? This is regarding those last minute pending transactions. Sometimes it takes awhile for things to clear at my banks.
@@morganandcelinee105 Thank you regarding the second point. I know how she tracks them in her workbook. Just wanted to know about those last minute pending transactions for the month. A no spend day before is helpful. Sometimes it takes my bank FOREVER to clear transactions. So some insight on that would be helpful.
I only track when things clear! So pending transactions I don't track until it clears, even if it's in a different month than when I actually spent it.
You know what's messing me up?! I don't feel like I can close out my "October" until my next pay day because that's how my budget is planned lol. ..... I feel like I need to save my next 2 paychecks and then begin fresh on the 1st of the month in December.

I get paid 2x a month and I don’t know when to close the budget!! So for 2 years I have not been able to figure out or balance my budget correctly because usually the last check of the month is covering my bills that are due on the first there’s always a crossover. What do you suggest?
Does your spouse track all spending too or is he included in your savings ? I notice you include things for him in the budget and family meals etc in spending . You also reflect income from him in the budget but never add in his spending that I have seen
My hubby and I get paid on Thursday and Friday weekly so I track our paychecks. My calendar week actually starts on Thursday and ends Wednesday instead of Sunday or Monday to Saturday. But in doing that sometimes like this week one month ends and another one starts in the same week. So I can’t really track my monthly expenses or spending the way the book is set up. Suggestions?
I think I'm confused by your question! Whenever you choose to close out your budget, whatever is in your account/envelopes would be your next months starting balance, regardless of when that is!
Hey i waa going through tour videos ans i was wondwring if you had or could do a video for starting the budget by paycheck workbook based off of a $0 starting base or say like i have savings started but im starting with $0 in my checking account
What happens when you are paid biweekly but it doesn’t align with the end of the month. Do you still close out one month and write remaining cash as starting balance for the new month
Hi, can you do a UA-cam video or an instagram video showing me how to make the small size workbook cover thing work. I put the back in the slot and when i try to put the front cover in The other slot it wont work. No idea what i am doing wrong but if i put both covers im the slots the book wont close. Help
If I want to start tracking on the 1st of the month but my checks come in on the 28th or 29th of the previous month (SS) and every Thursday (salary) of the month, how would I set that up in my tracker?
Personally I'd just track things in the month it all happens. I always track from the 1-last day of the month, even when I used to get paid twice a month. It's personal preference, so do what makes most sense to you!
Ok random thing could you look at this and say ok I want lashes for vacations. So could you save enough on the no vacation months to cover the months that you do want them if that makes sence. So your not pulling from other places.
Very interesting. I love how it shows the exact spending n savings for the month and how it shows where we may need to increase or can decrease on any category. Truth be told, I don't do this. Seemed complicated. I'm going to begin this because I can see how very helpful and informative it is. Thanks much, Miko. ❤🎉
Miko, you have inspired me to create my own budget template and post for sale on Etsy. Thank you for the motivation!🥰

She has answered this before, she does not track it until it clears as sometimes the pending amount changes!
She also does a no spend the day before to try to eliminate pending transactions when she’s starting and closing

You always use cash? What about credit cards?
Which planner are you using?

Why do I have like 50 more line items? I feel like mine is so busy and all over the place.

I personally would still close out on the last day but it's up to you!
Question. I use food stamps for groceries
How do I track that.
If this stamps have money value use same way like normal money.
I would track it as inflow! Then track the food expenses
Count the food stamps as “Inflow Other” & then track the spending in your grocery budget category.
I always throw my leftover amounts from my envelopes in my 100 envelopes in hopes the amount isn’t one I already for filled

No, the money he gives me every month I Just put towards bills. I don't share his finances as we have separate finances!
😊

I would, yes. But it's a personal choice!

Do you mind sending a video of what you're doing to support@thebudgetmom.com? You only want one front cover, not two.
