- In this video i take a look at the Trust GXT 232 Mantis Microphone. Overall it's a decent microphone but i bought it with the intention of using it on a guitar AMP. Enjoy the video
the mouse lasted 3 months
Is the song you played in the video an actual song if so what’s the name of it

@@bluelickrift i thought i recognised it.
I got one of these but it cuts out alot what do I do
@@bluelickriftI heard that one as a little kid while I was playing asphalt 8

It is always nice when the youtuber is from the UK (for those who wants to buy it from the UK) or has the links for it since most reviews are from the US. Thank you.

thank goodness for you existing
Lol, most liked comment xD
Thx
I got this mic to improve the sound for my channel - which was an improvement after using my phone and laptop microphones, and with the price I'm happy with it.
Does it work on ps4?
Psycho Flickz it does. Every usb mic works on ps4 if it fits in the USB port on the ps4 😂
This quality for £30? Man that's good. Thanks so much for doing a sound review it really helps. Gonna get this now 😀

melodie. awesome
It sounds very decent for instruments.
If this comment gets around 20 likes i'll make a guitar tutorial video for the two songs i play in this video. The amount of views and positive comments on this video are overwhelming, I knew before making this video that it would get more views than anything ive ever done, due to reviews on equipment being popular but i assumed a few hundred, maybe 1k views. 95k views later and im speechless. That being said there are alot of people who think i faked the guitar playing in this video, i can see why they would think that, my camera was set at 30fps so there is abit of lag between the video and audio, i'd be lying if i said it didn't annoy me, i'd rather people say i'm an average guitar player, which is true, than say i faked it. It's still a complement because they assume i'm good at editing. So if the demand is there to either prove i did play the guitar or you actually want to learn the two songs, i'll make the video.
Here's the video. Fair warning it's 35mins long. ua-cam.com/video/l1ol9l0xLJU/v-deo.html
had to log on, just to tell you this: incredible guitar playing!!! also just came for the micro and stayed for the music haha
I got this microphone.
One small tip, use a noise reduction filter :D
otherwise, great review :)
Ur skills with the guitar is incredible !!
🤩Looking for streaming Mic for my nephews birthday & saw your video. I think it will be perfect for 10yr old,... but on another note I'm subbing for the guitar!!! My hubby is blind and loves playing guitar and i know he'd appreciate listening to your your lessons.. thanx, many hugs 🤗 x🥰❤🧡💛💜💙💚
I think the rubber bands are especially meant for damping vibrations.
if you want to use it for gaming or just improve the quality, you should use a software (voicemeeter banana, audacity.. etc) if you especially want background noise, use the default with no software. it works as long as your console/pc has a USB-port NOT usb-c. also mac doesnt support this mic
I am currently living in a pretty loud home, does it help with noise?
I love the part whrere you re playing ur guitar :D
please do more mic tests and test them all with a guitar like this one. I hope you come to better places :)
I love it how Thomas the tank engine is just chilling in the back
This channel is underrated u should get way more love and subscribers
Thank you for the kind comment. My content is all over the place, sometimes I make gaming reviews and sometimes I make just gaming content, so I understand why I don’t get a lot of traction.
Came for mic review, stayed for the riffs.
Would you recommend it for a song writing, singing, music instruments??? Please help xd
I tested it on a ps4 and it is recgognized as a usb microphone sorry for the bad english im from bosnia

Just bought it in the local supermarket here. No idea why they had them, but at only €14,- I couldn't say no.
Finally replaced my very old Logitech desktop one.
Just got this mic today. It works great, sounds great and it's good for recording guitar.
Does it have noise cancellation by any chance?
Not built into the mic
what song is that you play?? it sounds familiar but i cant place it
Thanks for the review, was not sure about buying it but feel better to go for it now.
Hey, man. Your sound is pretty amazing and really takes me relax. Did you think about creating a playlist on Spotify? That would be nice.
never thought about doing anything like that but i'll keep it in mind. glad u enjoyed it
To me it sounds better than the first microphone
Holy shit his voice was so calm at the beggining of the vid i thought it was jesus in heaven speaking his word😭😭😭🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
sounds like a good father or teacher tbh
Thanks for the advice, fantastic talent on the guitar and a local lad aswell. Take my subscription 😂
I planned on streaming and i was wondering if this mic would be good? I would also use it for discord and probably in game voice chats.would you recommend it?
If it's what you ca afford at this moment in time then yes. For the price there are worse options and the mic has multiple uses.
That was a cool review but the guitar mate, WOW, that was cool.
The quality was far better than the headset mic I thought
What's the song called that you are playing?
Go With The Flow!
Awesome guitar playing
Thank you for the review! ❤️
Would it be comfortable to listen to for people listening from in.ex Discord, games, and streaming?
My friend that's a grate content you are making i really like the video it was very helpfull for me but i saw that you are nervous so much, when you were opening the box your'e hands were shaking a lot also your'e voice. so chill bro i really liked your'e content and i'm gonna become your'e 216 subscriber

Loved the guitar, keep up the good work 👍
Class review love the work 💪🏿
Is it a good mic to record background (crowd/rain) sounds for lofi songs?
Yeah man, i think over all it's best used for stuff like that rather than having it as a main mic to speak in a discord with
@@bluelickrift thanks a lot, chief
My g thank you for this very detailed review it's helped me alot... 😊
Great review! Thank you!
Were you using the Pop Filter during the Mic Test?
i was
@@bluelickrift not really. the capsule is perpendicular to the direction of the pop filter and it is thus rendered useless. this is terrible design on Trust's part.
Hi Silentpepe. I've just got it from Argos. I find it absolutely amazing mic in quality, but in my case in every record I do (from any device - laptop, pc, ps4), I find a background noise, not very recognizable, only if I am using headphones to listen. It's an air like sound. I'm wondering if it's a problem with the one I have and it should be exchanged. In yours I can't listen to any
I wonder if this is a case where I should remove it using audacity. Did you have to remove any noise with software?
Thanks and would appreciate your opinion
I use a noise suppression filter through OBS when I record. There are similar filter in Audacity to try as well.
@@bluelickrift thank you!!!
Hey man, great video! Is this good for recording electric guitar especially high gain/distortion stuff?
i think it would do an ok job as a starting mic for sure. Heres a vid i did a few week ago with electric guitar and using the mic ua-cam.com/video/LPmuHqlX_Gg/v-deo.html
Would you in conclusion recommend this microphone?
Even thought i wasn't impressed with the mic sound, i would still recommend. If wearing a headset isn't for you then this could be a good option. If you have a small studio room, this mic would work really well
@@bluelickrift thank you
@@bluelickrift I need it for online teaching, in about 1-2 metres radius (in front of a whiteboard), what do you think? Thanks!
"its worth buying just for the bubblewrap" that is in fact really true.
Is there any possibilty of stereo recording with such usb mics, two people playing singing left and right to get no mono sound only?
It's a good question, You probably could do it easily in editing but without having a second i don't want to say it will sound good. Probably would though.....
@@bluelickrift They dont write it nowhere - I have an expensive zoom, which is stereo and can even record in 4 directions in concert hall. It would not have been expensive to integrate such a function (2 mics with or without stereo switch), to get better sound, no monoblock. I want to record basic stereo track with usb mic. Are we really back in the 50ies with mono sound only???
For xbox one s ?
Awesome video man. Just a single question, would you recommend this mic for gaming/chatting with friends? I really want my voice to sound good and crisp.
For that I’d recommend a headset.
@@bluelickrift I already have an Arctis 7 but it's mic doesn't sound too clear as it's a wireless headset. So I need a USB mic.
I bought the mic before I watched this vid. You're right, but it did sound a bit flat/low on the base end. I don't hear myself while gaming atm. So I hope it treats me well.
would love a guitar tutorial for this song soo blissfull
i'm considering doing just that my man
@@bluelickrift Hey mate, any chance to do do it soon? :)
@@Rimteh33 I'm gonna make it today, so be out for weekend i think. btw ty for showing an interest, knowing people want to see it makes it more fun for me to record.
Thanks a lot man! Your skills are also LIT!!!
What is the name of the headset? Mic on that sounds incredible!
Sooo...whats the headset youre using? Just to gen an idea of the price comparison.
Astro A10
Is that a good purchase to using it for on-line meetings? Coz I'm using my built-in webcam mic on my desktop and built-in microphone on notebook also
can this be used to just chat speaking while gaming such as teamspeak, steam, discord or even facebook calls? for 30 bucks should i buy it?
Absolutely. Btw the mic quality is similar to revolver s
BRO I CAME FOR THE MIC BUT I STAYED FOR THE GUITAR LOLLL
I'm in love.
Well, hi!
I got this microphone as a birthday present from my friends, they give it to me with hope to see me as doing covers with him, so what to do you think, is it good for doing song covers, I mean on singing covers not instrumental? And one more question does anyone know any good program for PC to use it with this microphone for covers?
Thx a lot! :D
Extremely helpful thank you 🙂
super nice video and it helped me a lot, thanks

@@bluelickrift thanks :)
man that guitar solo tho
I don't really lesiten to the acoustic music that much, but that guitar solo is awesome
Thanks for the review!
I am a beginner streamer in a silent room and want to use this as a mic would it be a decent option?
yes it would work fine, In the section were i use the mic to speak, i could have made it sound clear. The mic has a good range and if you are on a budget you can't really go wrong with it. When you are getting into streaming don't spend alot of money.
Did you use raw audio or did you e.g. filter the noise? I would like to get the same speech quality while streaming (already bought it, too late for something else), but it sounds not much better than a generic laptop mic.
It was all raw audio, adding a noise filter and a gain filter would make it louder and less sensitive to background noise. Hope this helps
@@bluelickrift Thank, man, I will try a better physical setup then, perhaps there is electrical interference and fan noise. Your audio sounds great compared to what I get. One more thing - did you use the AGC option in it's Windows driver while recording this? It seems to raise the gain well beyond the manual 100%
Do you know if you can plug this directly into your PS5 and use as a streaming Mic?
What’s the name of the song you played or is it a original piece
Who's watching in 2020?
Hey man just wondering wat is the name of the song u played it was really good👍
First song is Queens of the Stone age, Go with the flow, second is Small Bump by Ed Sheeran
Can u use ik for Xbox
Liked and subscribed. Good job mate.
Got this used at CEX for £15 just curious about it.
does it have any background noise, especialy in video games
Late response, but yes. I've had it for around a year now and considering the quality is, at its best, mediocre I barely use it. But if you want to dampen background noise I would recommend using Voice Banana and mess around with the settings.
What headset is it you use?
so I'm a small UA-camr who began a year ago and I got the mic and it was the bad cause I didn't want It so close to my mouth but later i put it close to my mouth next to my keyboard it sounded very well
Mine picks up alot of noise on streamlabs, any idea? I can not record with it as it sounds like I'm in a tornado
In Stream labs, right click the mic- Properties - Add filter - Noise supression. Try that
@@bluelickrift still poor quality, just brought a new mic, I definitely would not recommend this mic to anyone
thanks. I was going to buy it but the quality is not what I am looking for . :)
Is the mic good for gaiming streams?
Abonniert TheTruthNagato if you prefer not to wear a headset then yeah, it’s a decent price and having owned and used it for nearly a year it still holds up
@@bluelickrift oh ok thx
I’m using it for music but will upgrade to the tonor Tc777
what headset are you using? Never seen that brand before (btw i'm not into audio/music that much)
He's using Astro A10s I believe
It's also usable for ps4 right? Because you can put USB cables in the ps4 and it should work i think
why this microphone (in my case) works only once in two? Someone can help me or offer me applications to improve my sound (because even if it works there is a horrible sound)srry for my bad english i am from morroco
www.audacityteam.org/download/ i use this software when i want to record voice overs. You can adjust the sound levels after you record the voice. Try this if you can, see if you can improve quality that way
or use voicemeeter banana
Thank you so much for this video. So what would you recommend for voice over then?
I wrote this in a few comments but I don’t expect you to go through them all ;) in a smaller room than I have the mic in the video would be fine for voice overs, using programs like Audacity to clean the recording up would help a lot. For the price you can’t really go wrong with it. It’s not a mic I use every day, I’m more accustomed to gaming headsets but the fact I have it gives me so many options when it comes to recording audio. Bit of a long winded reply but I hope it helps
@@bluelickrift it does help. thank you
personally microphone sounds better than headphone for me
we do lvoe the bubble wrap mate!
can you tell ne please.. i want to buy that mic for singing.. is it good for singing? Thank you in advance.
I bought this mouse 2 days ago, and absolutely loved it until it started to bug out, its very choppy and sometimes doesnt even work, if someone has had the same problem, can you tell me if you fixed it or not?
If you are talking about the mouse in the video I actually replaced it last week. The thumb wheel became faulty for me. It was a decent mouse for the price but the buttons don’t have a long life span
Wow, it's very good for recording instruments, but what about vocals, I mean, singing?
I wouldn’t use it for singing

With lockdown my brass band hasn't been able to meet. I've been asked to record something which has led me here. Do you think this mic would work well with a brass instrument? Awesome guitar btw dude.
I can’t see why not, with a bit of experimenting with where to place the mic, you should be fine. All round it’s hard not to recommend the mic because of how reasonable priced it is and the fact it has its own stand. You could spend a lot more money to get a worse mic. Imo
@@bluelickrift thanks for the advice. Just saw they're selling this mic at Smyths toys so no waiting for the postie. I had to look twice when you started speaking, you sounded like my son-in-laws brother (they live in Didsbury) 😂
