I just wanted to say thank you for making these videos. You’ve saved a pile of cash for such a easy job. My family really appreciates it!
That is awesome! Thank You for such a kind comment.
I really don't think this guy or any of these other guys that show us how to work on vehicles, boats, atv's etc know how much they help people. I hope all of you have the most blessed life possible. Great video, i'm replacing mine Saturday.
This is the guy you want working on you’re car. Top notch work.
Thank you so much. You are Awesome
Followed your instructions to a tee& everything went as you instructed. Great video. Many thanks!
It was easy for you because you are Awesome
Thank you for this...used it today to pull and clean my injectors!
Glad it helped. Thank you for the encouraging comment
I undertightened the passenger side bolt for the fuel rail when doing my reinstall. Ran into rattling and fuel leakage, thankfully your vids helped me to sus out the issue real quick.
Awesome!
Love the video old school guy like myself .priceless knowledge!! Keep up the great work
Thanks for the comment. Your awesome!
mission accomplished! thank you for sharing your knowledge and showing me how to do it :) heart heart heart
Thats Awesome!! Your welcome. Thanks for celebrating your Victory with me.
You make it look too easy, but always easy when you're watching LOL I still use my speed wrench, some day I may get a cordless driver 🤣 You are good about visiting & it is always appreciated . Showing support " St. Judes Car show " Like the way you had the geese fly in formation. Nice ending on the video. Stay well, Joe Z
Happy New Year
Thanks for the great video. Will soon be changing fuel injectors on my 2009 Prius, being just under air filter box makes it easier to get to.
Yes It is pretty quick and easy.
@@saneauto I'm curious, did you need to disconnect batteries, before changing fuel injectors?. I had both my batteries replaced, and it was suggested to disconnect batteries prior to changing anything. Thank you.
Thank you appreciated the video, doing my injectors soon since it has 170k miles on them and I’m not getting most out of my mpg
Thank you for making this video! It helped out a lot.
You're welcome!
Thanks for this vid man it was awesome and very informative. I hope maybe next time we can get a closer angle shot video but other than that 👍👍👍 I subscribed
Thank you so much for your support. Here is my Hybrid repair playlist. ua-cam.com/video/mTgOvlaQnxI/v-deo.html New Hybrid repair videos every Saturday afternoon for at least the next couple months.
I appreciate you making this video. This was quite easy, did it in about an hour for ~$125 instead of the $800+ the shop wanted.
Isn't it awesome saving hundreds of dollars and knowing for sure the job was done right at the same time?
$800?!?! What mansion are you going to for car repair? I need to charge more!
Great video
Thanks to your video I just finished replacing the injectors on our "10. Seems to run more smoothly. Thanks again!!!
Cool Glad I could help. I have a whole playlist of nothing but Prius repairs. Did you check to see if the gas mileage improved yet?
@@saneauto Thx - I will be ck mpg....wow they were filthy. I'll check out you other Prius videos!
Hi there, my name is Tom I have a toyota pirus v 2012, i try to change the fuel injector but when i remove the injector from the rail, gasoline are shooting out from the rail. Is there any value or way to depressurize first. Thank you
@@tuanvucohan.9901 when you stopped your car, did you let the engine shut off at idle? Or turn the car off with the engine running?
@@SurferTy I turn off my car completely. Do you think I should unplug it from the battery
I just finished. Thanks, bro ✋
Great job! Your Awesome!
Nice tip with the cardboard I do the same . I save cardboard for stuff like this
Its nicer to walk on. even nicer on the old knees when you gotta crawl around down there to get your 10mm back
I would have gone for the 1" impact instead 😂 nice work bud.
Subscribed love you
Thank you
Is it the same for the gen2 meaning location?
How do you know when you need to change your injectors ? Dose the engine light have to come on?
Hi great video will this work on a 2014 prius thanks
Yes it should be the same all the way up to 2015
The video is very helpful! I don’t see the type of 10mm wrench you’re using in the description though. Would you mind providing a name or link?
socket
I would rather use motor oil placed upon the o ring on the fuel injector rather than a Q tip with Vaseline. No problem with fuzz coming off and contaminating the injector
God bless you🙌
Thank You
It's past my bedtime I'm going to let this play ...Happy New Year Victor and Carol 💖

can you tell me why i would be leaking gas after i changed the fuel injections
Can someone help me find his video on how to test the injectors? I can’t seem to find it on the channel.
What is the name of or where do you get the ratchet tool that you used here? I checked the list in the description and don't see it. I could only find T-shaped ratchets, and I like the "bit brace" style of yours much better.
I think your talking about my Speed Handle? amzn.to/3ma1FUk They are popular with Aircraft mechanics like my Dad & Uncles. They are also popular with Transmission Rebuilders. I did that for 23+ years.
Good video.
But you might want to tell people to never put dielectric grease directly on the pins and blades or any electrical connection. It’s purpose is to seal out moisture not conduct electricity.
I will make a video explaining my opinion on this matter.
Have almost 300k on my 2010. Have a mis fire showing up cylinder 4 every now and then. Gonna knock this out asap.
If you leave it overnight its less likely to have lots of fuel pressure on the fuel rail when you start working on it.
Good thing I started reading the comments, about the gas spurting out from the fuel rail! I’ll make sure I put my cigarette out before I get that far! Also I was wondering about the best route to go on buying a set of injectors, without paying $140.00 bucks apiece from a dealer to get new ones? I saw in your video You used genuine OEM Denso but in your links section it took me to Amazon but it was a different brand of 12 hole injector? I’ve seen sets of remanufactured ones on e-bay for like $32 bucks for 4 but I’m skeptical of that? Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated! And thanks for your great videos!
ebay - 40 for 4 oem injectors
yeah i wished i read the comments before i followed this video. gasoline leaked scared the shit out of me. no mention of that in the video.
@@creamynessification I read it in the comments
Did you have to take the fuse out for the fuel pump or when you take the connectors off, no fuel will come out when you remove the injectors from the fuel rail?
I didnt have to take the fuse out but some fuel sprayed out. Theres some residual pressure there when you pull the rail off. Its best to cover it with a large rag or something to keep it from spraying on you. If your having a really bad day it could spray you in the face. so safety glasses and a rag might be advisable. It only sprayed about a 2 or 3 ounces for about half a second though. I wouldnt let anyone smoke near ya during this job.
“Of course it fell all the way down.”
Me, that one time I left a wrench in my engine and was driving along and the clanking hell that followed thinking “oh, that’s where my 10mm went.” 🤦🏼♀️
Your not the only one Ive found sockets wrenches extensions and screwdrivers. in the engine bay of many cars.
@@saneauto I found a digital torque in the bay of a friend’s car I was working on. Thanks to whoever left it there! I love it!
How good are the INEDDUP Matched Flow Fuel Injectors recommended this video?
Over 50K miles on them so far with no problems
By the way, thanks for the video was able to change the fuel injectors without any issues.
Did it help the car run smoother or improve MPG? I WOULD HAVE LIKED TO HEAR IT RUNNING BEFORE and AFTER....
Hello, did you disconnect the battery and remove the back seat and take out fuel pressure?
No you should not do things the way I do, if you want maximum safety. Actually like most of my endings say and all my Video descriptions say. You should not do anything I do in my Videos dont even do anything i say in my videos. you could end up burnt, bruised or Bleeding just like me.
Is it normal for the prius engine to knock after replacing the injectors?
Within 2 months I've replaced all of the ignition coils, all the spark plugs, cleaned out the intake manifold, along with the pipe that connects to the EGR valve and now have replaced all four fuel injectors... Still misfiring but just not as bad, any other suggestions? Thank you ✌️ 3rd gen Prius

How often need change fuel injectors
Is there any valve to shut gas off or depressurize it before remove the rail? Because i did exactly what you did, but where i remove the fuel injector from the rail, gasoline is shooting out from the rail.
When working on injectors, I normally relieve the pressure at the shrader valve, Unfortunately Ive never been able to find a shrader valve in the fuel rail on a 3rd Gen Prius. Im not sure what the engineers were thinking when they designed it that way.
@@saneauto thank you
Hi, my name is Tom. I don't know i missed something from your video, but when i take the injectors out the gas line, alot off gasoline shooting out. I am wondering if i missed some step before taking out the injectors?
If you hadn't depressurized the fuel system prior. It will spray when you disconnect everything.
yeah i wished i read the comments before i followed this video. gasoline leaked scared the shit out of me. no mention of that in the video.
I suspect I may need to do this on my 2010. How do you release the fuel pressure before removing the rail? Do you just take out the fuse for the fuel pump and run the engine down like other cars?
Thats probably your best bet. This one had no shrader valve. Ive seen a lot of vehicles that way lately.
saneauto ok, I’ll try that. Thanks for the help.
So there is no fuel pump fuse on a 3rd gen Prius, so I just went for it. The gas didn’t spurt out like others have said, but a bunch did leak out. Maybe a quarter of cup or so. I put some paper towels underneath the rail to absorb most of it. (Maybe not necessary). The job seems to have gone well, and I think it fixed my sputtering problem. The old injectors were pretty nasty. Thanks again for the video. It gave me the confidence I needed to get this done.
We use Silicone on the rubber O-rings when assembling.
God bless
Thank you
Do they need any programing after been changed ??
No! just plug and play
I changes mine 2 days ago but my connector's didnt clicked ,even of i push hard , so maybe i need new connector
Is there any advantage to replacing instead of cleaning the original injectors? My engine isn't misfiring, but I have had injectors cleaned in previous cars and it makes a difference in power. But for $40 maybe I should just replace them.
And after how many km or miles do you recommend cleaning or replacing?
Your right thats exactly what I was thinking when I just went ahead and replaced them. Plus you can upgrade to the 12 hole injectors theres a link in the video description.
@@saneauto is their any loss in fuel economy by upgrading to the 12 hole? What are the advantages
Did you have to depressurize the fuel rail in order to change the injectors?
Theres no schrader valve on this one. Dangerous design. Be careful & Protect your eyes.
I work on so many V6's I thought this was a six ...it's a four banger
Calm down
@@theblueangels2148 I can't got a i35
This is great. Ty
But your killing me watching you use that du hickey thing the removes & install the bolts !! Lol
How much difference to do Injectors on 2014 Prius. My Toyota dealership service department said it would cost $1500
The 2010 through 2015 are the same
Presumably those were genuine Denso injectors you took out. What did you replace them with and were they genuine parts.
I ordered the 12 hole injectors amzn.to/3oixcoS They are not Denso but have been going strong for over 50,000 miles so far I have over 350,000 miles on the Prius.
@@saneauto What are the pros and cons of the 12-hole injectors please ?
I haven't used my old speed wrench in years I think it's sitting in the bottom of my toolbox
He's pretty good with the speed wrench
Hi,is the injector replacement have their own spot when you install? Thanks
All the injectors one through four are the same They will fit any cylinder..
Did you shut off power to your batteries or is it not necessary?
Im sure it would have been safer but no I did not.
I always make it nice for the next guy and put never seize on everything
Just think if everyone used it
I dont know what i dis wrong rhe right side injector from top is not tight fuel coming out
Why my car was leaking gas after cleaning the injectors?
First...Happy New Year
Don't worry I'll get over to watch your video I think you were shining wheels or something I thought I'd come over here and check out the fuel injectors
Question- a cylinder misfire is the fuel injectors not the spark plugs? My 2010 prius shows all 4 cylinder misfires 😩. And exhaust gas recirculation flow insufficient detected (P0401 code)
(P0300, P0301, P0302, P0303, P0304) and (P261B code) 😫😫😫 So many codes. Jesus i hope this is something I can do myself. From the video it looks easy.
Thank you for your comment. I wish I had better news. Unfortunately a Misfire can be caused by: plugs, coils, injectors, vacuum leak, dirty throttle body, dirty intake manifold, bad timing chain, bad cam phaser, low octane gasoline etc. Just to name a few. oh and blown head gasket. The egr problem is probably dirty EGR passages etc.
Headgasket
Why is it hard to put the fuel injector back in the fuel reel? And still leak now have to buy more ring and try again.
You need to wiggle them in slowly left to right and make sure the O-rings on the injectors are lubricated I used the same fuel. If you force them in dry the O-rings will crease or break every time. You probably figured this out by now just posted it in case someone else has this issue
What was the initial problem
intermittent engine miss
saneauto thanks......looking for knocking solution.....engine knocks only when engine restarts after it completely shuts off like at a stop light
Gandy8604 your head gasket is most likely blown. Known Prius 2010-14 issue. I had the same issue.
You can check your coolant to see if it is a gasket. There is something you can get at autozone. It will test your coolant to see if oil is in it. Essentially, the two swapping spit through the gasket. If the coolant is good.. try spark plugs and fuel injectors
I thought I heard something hit the ground
That's hilarious I use KY
I save the KY for other stuff ;-)
i didnt put a like on the video because my like would've been #triple six. will let someone else hit that number:) But thanks for a great vid!
Fair enough!
The Chrome has worn off my 10 mm Snap-On socket 1/4 inch drive... go figure
You need about 5 of those 10MM
@saneauto
How much for the injectors? I called toyota and they told me its 194$ each!
ebay - I ust picked up 4 OEM for less than $40
seriously youtube 7 minutes of commercials to watch one video!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The amount of adds does seem to be excessive lately. Even for Christmas season.
I gotz2duh point I didn't have to use a torque wrench on everything between the time I popped outta my momma and the time I hit the strip club floor!!
Thats correct. I would add, never take your torque wrench to the strip club you will get taken advantage of.
FYI.. your channel ad covers a significant part of the top of the screen and so not everything is clear in this video.
