    I’m right in the middle of all this kidney stone crap. I had the surgery two days ago and it’s been quite painful and unpleasant since then. It burns like hell when I have to take a piss which is a dozen or more times a day. I have this thread hanging out of my wiener and that stent is connected to that string so I can pull it out in a couple more days. I will be pulling it out myself and I can only imagine what joy and wonders that will bring me. This sucks!

    I just had this happen on March 8th 2023 and I tell you it's no fun having them but I can tell you it was worth it anyway and that's why I have to stint in there to make sure the urine will come out safely and I won't have to worry about a thing but the only thing I have to do now is to get the stent out! And what was nice about it is I stayed there for at least three and a half hours after recovering from it. And boy was it worth it.

      Kind of the same. Explanation above. Stent first and then surgery coming. Stone is high in the kidney, but still causing infection, so stent needed to ensure no upcoming blockage. Scary! Feel better soon!❤

    I had this done today. I was very nervous before they knocked me out, when I woke up I didn't realize that they already finished the procedure. I will say peeing is quite painful, a very strong burning sensation but once the pee starts, the pain subsidies a bit. This is where the meds come in ;)
    But for me, I will try to limit the use of pain meds if I can, except maybe the one that reduces inflation.

    Stents are not mandatory for a uncomplicated procedure..in fact studies show that there's a high rate of return visits to the ER when a stent is placed.. multiple studies in the journal of medicine along with a few other medical journals.. stenting is not necessary or even recommend, as the stents themselves can cause sever complications.. obviously there's people who pressnt infections or complications that do need a stent..but by no means should a doctor just assume all patients need one..

    • @Puceter
      @Puceter 3 роки тому

      Michael that size will not pass on its own so maybe if you are the thin guy they can do lithotripsy which is a sound wave bombardment of the stone to break it up then they get it or some of the pieces will pass on their own. If no litho then they do a uretereoscopy where they go thru your penis into the bladder and to the kidney to break the stone with a laser! They will probably leave a stent to keep your urethra open and the kidney draining. The stent will be an experience! Still there is no cutting so minimally invasive quick recovery!

    I had the exact same procedure that was explained here. 3 days in the hospital. The doctor got my kidney stone out and 4 of the 6 bladder stones out. I have a stent. It's been in place for about 9 days now. VERY painful peeing. My right side hurts a lot when moving around. Still some blood in my urine. I feel very weak and tired. Just walking across the room drains me. I felt great before the surgery. No kidney or bladder pain but I sure do now. A very terrible experience. I'm wondering when my stent will come out. I hope the doc will let me know. Also, she wants to go back in and get the other two stones. Why didn't she take them out the first time? Never got to ask her ...yet. Now how do I stop making more stones I don't have to go through this again? Why did I do this I'm asking myself.

      @LetFreedomRingEternal Рік тому

      Having stones, surgery, then stents can leave you tired and at risk for another infection. I’ve had this done twice. Stones are loaded with bacteria and while the stents keep urine flowing, they can harbor bacteria too. I had to be on antibiotics throughout my treatment. Also got another uti after they removed the stents as that jostled more hospital-acquired bacteria. Stay vigilant as you recover. Rest and drink plenty of fluids. Avoid salt and sugar if you can. Call your doctor if you feel worse or develop a fever.
      Hope you’re all better now! 🙏🏻🕊

      Going through a similar situation. But kind of the opposite. Have a stone in my kidney, good sized stone. Been having cramping, back ache, dull but strong abdominal pain on left, abnormal urinalysis (infection). Urologist put in a stent to relieve pressure and to make sure the kidney drains properly, as I have had sepsis before, due to a stone obstruction. Next step will be stone removal, but 5-6 weeks down the road when things calm down, as this doctor above out it. So, I think the urologist looks at the big picture, the history, tests, stone size etc. and then individualize a plan sometimes. I was in pain before the stent, so honestly, it's all the same, just some new sensations. I understand your pain and concerns and hope this all ends soon. Am devastated that this is happening again! Wishing you all the best and may we both heal soon❤

Had to have another operation to correct that called a "meatotomy: but it didn't work. Have to pee in a funnel or jug. Now she thinks my enlarged prostate is the problem and it has to come out in January. This won't end for me. I should have had lithotripsy instead of the surgery to remove the stones. Last June 2020, I had an ureteroscopy to remove a 3 mm stone at the entrance to my bladder. I wish my urologist had explained it as well as this clip. He didn't follow up with post op to say if a stent was put in me. Four (4) months, I started experiencing the same kidney stone like pain, went to a different urologist at a major university medical center. CT scan found the kidney is healthy, but the pain keep escalating. In two weeks, I will go back to get an ultra sound and CT scans again to see what is causing the pain. Anyone with the same situation?

    I was recently slammed (out of nowhere) by 4-5mm kidney stones. Two were lodged in the left ureter which sent me to ER. The pain is indescribable and relentless. A stent was immediately placed to clear the blockage and surgery was scheduled 10 days later so the infection had a chance to clear. THE STENT PAIN IS HORRIBLE AND YOU WILL BE MISERABLE. After surgery to remove the stones, the stent was replaced as a precaution of ureter swelling and another 8 days of stent agony ensued.
    I’ve been completely panicked for the last week reading comment after comment about the barberic procedure and pain involved to remove the stent. Happy to say I experienced ZERO pain and nothing was given for numbing during the procedure. It was a little uncomfortable due to pressure but even that was over in less than a minute.
    All of this to say everyone is different so someone else’s experience won’t be your experience. My suggestion, take something for pain prior to the procedure “just in case” and relax. The relief is immediate and I’m so glad it’s over.
    Good luck to everyone.

    I have passed several stones in my life. I went to emergency room this time and then they scheduled me to have this done for two stones in the operating room in the hospital They could remove one of the smaller stone but one is too large. They put a stent in and in a week to ten days they said the stent would come out. I cannot believe i will have to go through another procedure for the larger stone with another stent. I have heard removing the stent is agonizing but nobody talks about it. i guess i will finc out

    I'm getting mine April 29th this year at Mary Immaculate here in Newport News Virginia a Ureteroscopy with the Holmium Laser under the care of Dr Ani with TPMG. After watching these videos and reading everyone's description of pain,etc makes me wonder if the way the patient is being treated during the procedure is causing the pain post surgery later. I have a Tic Tok video and talk about this exactly. When watching this video, observe how the doctor rushes while shoving the guide wire,etc quickly down the urethra very quickly. I have watched other videos with doctors from India saying to carefully and slowly push the guide wire down the urethra not to damage the urethra lining. You think these doctors that are pushing pretty quickly these quide wires down the urethra would want another doctor to do the same to them, heck no !! I'm not a betting man but after hearing why so many patients are having pain, etc, I'm betting this could be one reason. There doctor is rushing this procedure perhaps to get to another surgery hours later, or insurance time allocated reasons, or this is how he or she was trained. I'm not sure what the reason is but to reduce costs the more time you allocate for the patient that day for surgery reduces future costs on insurance companies if it's done in a way where the doctor doesn't appear to be rushed possibly causing damage to someone's urethra or something similar in nature. In other other words, they say the surgery can be on average from UA-cam research from 45 min to 3 hours at most. Would you want a 45 min procedure after seeing how fast this doctor rushes the guide wire down your urethra possibly causing you major discomfort and pain later. Or, would you want a 2 hour surgery where the surgeon carefully and slowly guides the guide wire down your urethra in which your discomfort and pain is much, much less during recovery after surgery. It's food for thought !! All I know is on April 29th I want Dr Ani to do door number 2 on me so that is exactly what my pain and discomfort is !! You are paying the bill at the end and should get what you pay for, eehh?? Just like anything else in life, right, when it comes to the bill ? The customer is always right, right ? Please don't comment, " Well, I don't want my doctor on his feet for so many hours taking that amount of time causing him to be tired,etc ! If your doctor can't stay on his feet for a certain amount of hours for surgery, he shouldn't be doing this in the 1st place. He needs to clock out and go home and look for another profession. ER doctors do this everyday and know that is what comes with the job. That's why ER doctors,your Urologist, make very good money because of the stress of the job and the hours of work that goes into, including the hours of surgery. I'm blessed to have very good doctors with TPMG thus far!. My GP and Urologist have been excellent so far and I hope they keep staying this way. I hope my long review helped and informed those of my opinion and I hope my procedure is nowhere close to what I've been reading come April 29th,2022 at Mary Immaculate in Newport News, Virginia. Have a great day everyone and hope all of you going through this has or is recovering well !!
