Thank you sooo much Honey! I'm sure you're a busy Mommy too like all of us are, but you took time here to share you're creativity! Bless you! I love your talent!
THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR SHARING!!! For those who have so many opinions about the safety and who scream JUST BUY ONE: First of all before these wraps got "Branded" they were made by moms like her! Not everyone can afford to pay for an expensive brand-name, so before we had money we made them! 😄
totally agree with you!! love your comment 1000% this is what brought me here i have a 1yr old and now nearly 3 wk old and don't have a double pram juet yet till after xmass now due to money being tight atm...so this is a great idea and grandaddy is a big man and his t-shirts will be used well aha
Thank you! Thank you! I needed a carrier for a one time situation on vacation at a cavern that didn't allow strollers. I didn't want my 18 month old being squirmy in just my arms in this type of situation. The wrap worked great! I used 2 shirts, a shoe lace, and then tied a pair of old yoga pants around for extra support. For all you negative people saying spend the money and buy one, get over yourselves! Not everyone wants/needs a carrier for long term use. This was great in a pinch! I made it in my motel room too! Both baby and I were happy!
I will be trying this, thank-you. I am aware of the issues of carriers that cause "dangling babies" but I don't see that issue here. Baby is supported on their bum, and, although you didn't necessarily do it in the video, I can see how you can easily bring the baby's legs up around your tummy to further support baby. I have a moby, which I like a lot, but I get fed up with how long the one piece of fabric is. This one supports very similarly and it's one I'm comfortable with using. Thnx!
I LOVE this idea! I purchased my Baby K'tan too small and this demonstration is the exact type of carrier...what a great penny saver for those who under-estimate their post baby size! :)
Instead of tying the two shirts together and then covering over that with fabric, I think it would be easier (and faster too) to just loop them together as you can two rubber bands! 💕
Finally found an answer to my problem.🥳 Thank u so much for this video 💕🙏 this saves me a lot of money I'm sure the only ones who dislike this video are baby carrier companies lol
Where were you 3 years ago before I purchased my hot [bleep] Moby?! My hubby's shirts are 2 sizes bigger and would have saved us so much. Thanks so much! I'll pass this along.
I really don't comment on things often but I just wanted to say this is a great idea, but the baby's legs are not positioned ergonomically in this wrap. That can lead to problems with circulation and hip development. It should be okay if it's not used for extended periods of time though! Love the creativity! :) oh and that tip is for newcomers since I realize this is an old video :)
Very great idea! Two options: 1.) Yarn substitute two or more of the same or color contrasting t-shirt short-sleeves: cut off and double-twisted for strength, figure 8 style, then slid onto where large loops intersect. 2.) Tucking an oversized round or oval terrycloth hotpad between the two large loop layers pads baby's bottom and helps both layers stay put. If the hotpad is a glove-style rectangle ovenmitt, it also can stow a spare-diaper.
UGH.... BRILLIANT !!!! been looking for something to use to a 18yr old, 5lb, blind, deaf tiny poodle with seperation issues who wants to be held all the time!! just genius!
wow! I was looking for a carrier for my tiny 4 pound dog. This may not work for her but this is a GREAT thing for moms.!!!! my babies are all grown! Thank you!!!!
This is such a great idea! Thank you!! And thanks for the follow-up video. There's so much new info and people are so nasty with criticisms sometimes. No one knows everything!!
This is exactly how the mobi wrap goes:). Wish I saw this video before buying an expensive wrap..uurrggg..thank you soooo much! You're awesome, I still will make one.
I don't even need this (I was looking for a diy cat sling), but I still watched! 😆 It's very interesting, and even the way you cut the gray t-shirt is such a good idea.
I love this! My 8 and 4 year old daughters want to "wear" their babies like I wear their baby brother and sister - this is such a great way I can make them their own easy baby doll wearers! And What a great idea to have stashed in the car for those times you don't plan ahead for an outing and need a sling! Love it!
I made this just now, I used 2 promo shirts from my job and sum cotton jersey I bought at fabricland that was originally too short to make a complete wrap...problem solved! My sick little baby is loving it!
Thanks, everyone, for the great comments! I really just wanted to have a babywearing option for mommas and daddies who can't necessarily afford to buy an expensive carrier. Because of that, I won't be patenting it. I already own the copyright by posting it here where everyone can view it. And yes, it is very similar to the Baby K'tan, that's what I modeled it after! Feel free to share with whomever you want, that's what this video is for. Happy babywearing!
this is sooo cool. i was looking through online shops to buy somehow a wrap but it's darn expensive.. too lucky I've found this video. ( sewing isn't my thing 'cause that shit's hard. lol) really helpful and I'm doing it right now with my husband's shirts cause he's big anyway. thank you, thank yooou!!
I can see how using a t-shirt only 1 size bigger might make a tighter fit...something that might work better for hip placement. Overall I love your idea and am sharing it. Long thick shirts with no side seams would be the best option I think. I love the application for moms who don't have a hand me down to use. Thanks for sharing!
This thing is awesome! Thanks a lot, I just had my baby a month ago & my little girl loves to be on me so it works out perfectly & plus I didn't want to spend the money on these expensive baby carries, but thx again
Thank you so much for sharing your tricks and ideas. By the way, I like this video--very clear and realistic. It's a shame you have so many "critics". Now you really know how good you are! You know, one has to use common sense and get a feel of what's best for them and their baby... Some people are experts at "critiquing" others...! Remember that no matter how well you make a product or do something someone will turn that into a hazard. So again, Thank you so much! And please keep sharing :)
@jfta Actually, Hayley is correct. The t-shirts used for this K'tan-like carrier were not wide enough so there was not enough fabric to spread from knee to knee. The position of the baby in this video was very much like what you would have in a Bjorn and not at all like what you would see in a wrap or K'tan - which would put baby's knees higher than his/her bottom.
hello, i tried making one of these and it worked perfectly. my baby is a month old and he fell asleep as soon as i tucked him in the sling and he is very comfortable. he always wants to be be carried and this sling is perfect for him. we bought a carrier from walmart and he is still too little for it. thank you for sharing this i dont have to buy a new one for him.
This is great! Sorry you got so many negative comments. Too bad I already bought a k'tan but I'm going to try this with cool Tshirts. You're awesome don't let the negative Nancy's get you down :)
Hi! So do you want to use t-shirts that are the size you currently wear? I want to make this for my sister. She is a 2x and it's hard to find a carrier that fits her. Thanks =)
life saver!!! I used a wide Indian scarf. it's wide enough for my babies feet to be covered and makes a cute little hood which provided head support (my daughter is barely a month old)
thnku for showing us this! I'm so glad i came across your post and i have a nearly 3 wk old and a 1yr old and no double buggy so can't get out as much as we need to unless the dad is pushing one of the prams with me so this would be perfect! I'm just hoping I can carry a new born in it? could i ? I'm not to sure now as it seems more for the age of 4mos and up...? i can only but try in house and if it doesn't feel right i will wait till she in month age b4 I do but again thnku!
I just made one and I am 10 and I made it for my reborn doll she is having fun with it but instead I used all white but I am going to spray paint it black and pink cause black goes with anything right btw your vid was awesome and your baby is really cute srry if I am typing alot bye
I wonder how the price of 3 t shirts would differ to the price of 5 meters of jersey cotton? Someone on a budget it might be cheaper for them to buy the fabric and get 2 or 3 slings from one length? You need to make sure people ask the retailers about the dyes used on the t-shirts some companies use AZO dyes which use heavy leads like mercury.. Not something you want a baby chewing. I think it's a great idea for an emergency situation sling most have t-shirts to hand. very creative
Thank you for this video. It's concise and easy to do. Just watched a longer one, it was ridiculous and the host said too many stupid things. I would just watch for what we call "crotch dangling" LOL. Fabric should be spread all the way under the knees. Can't wait to make my own!!!
wow, our carrier was in the wash and my daughter was dramatically unhappy. A quick google bought me to your guide and 10 minutes later my daughter was as happy as can be. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU! :-)
claudia trujillo I made it for mine. all I had was a wide scarf which works GREAT. it's wide enough to cover her head, and it also provides head support so she's not constistanrly nodding at me
Thank you sooo much Honey! I'm sure you're a busy Mommy too like all of us are, but you took time here to share you're creativity! Bless you! I love your talent!

Saki Rosh & Kenzi Marie i love this comment! I totally agree!

Derpy Chickennugget-YT Exactly!!! And before all these "Name Brand" wraps came out...women made their own ANYWAY. lol

Over decade late of you posting this video i find it useful 😊. Thank you for showing us.
I LOVE this idea! I purchased my Baby K'tan too small and this demonstration is the exact type of carrier...what a great penny saver for those who under-estimate their post baby size! :)
Thank you! I miss my tiny one from when this video was made! She's currently very busy all the time and getting into everything, but still such a joy!
Instead of tying the two shirts together and then covering over that with fabric, I think it would be easier (and faster too) to just loop them together as you can two rubber bands! 💕
Was looking to see if anyone else was having the same thought😉🤔
I was thinking of buying something, but this will be great. Just grab a few of husband’s old work shirts and he’ll never know! Thank you for sharing!
Very inventive! I really like the idea of using different colors, not only does it look different but I think it makes it easier to learn to wear.
Finally found an answer to my problem.🥳 Thank u so much for this video 💕🙏 this saves me a lot of money

Thank you! I made one of these just to see what happened and I use it more than my other two carriers combined! Genius!
Awesome!! I have a 9 week old baby and I've been looking for a baby wrap! Can't wait to try this. Thank you :)

I love that I found this. I'm a DIY girl, and this was so helpful! I have a sleepy wrap, but I was looking into a K'Tan

Love this!!!! Thanks for sharing. I have 2 carriers but they are both too hot & bulky! Can’t wait to use my husbands old Tshirts to try this!!!
This thing is awesome! Thanks a lot, I just had my baby a month ago & my little girl loves to be on me so it works out perfectly & plus I didn't want to spend the money on these expensive baby carries, but thx again
GENIUS!! Wish I had known this 4 years ago before spending almost $100 on a piece of fabric (CuddlyWrap)
I really enjoyed you motivation & creativity. This would work great in our Peace Corps country and would be very cheap. Thanks so much for the idea.
I would never have thought of this; very simple; Thanks!

Thanks for posting the video. It will really help my reflux baby and me. I made the carrier using your instructions. It's easy and works great!
If you wanted to sew this, would you just put the inside of the shirt inside the other one? Or would that not work?
Thanks so much this is very affordable and good for us on a budget
Great idea, great video, absolutely ADORABLE baby too!!! Thank you for sharing, Gramma"s and Pa's can use these too!
I LOVE THIS. I MADE ONE AND IT'S WONDERFUL. Thank you!

Love this and i'm sharing it! Thanks!!
Thanks I love it!!!
Of course you can wear them facing out but is it optimal positioning and comfort for both mother and baby? No.
Love it!!! Thanks soo much!!!
Yeah, I'm not weird *LOL* I came on looking for baby wraps for my little dog (she's old) and I see post of others doing the same.
is this safe for a month old baby?
i would assume so. we have a wrap exactly like this we bought and have been using since nb. they work best for babies 7lbs+
claudia trujillo
I made it for mine. all I had was a wide scarf which works GREAT. it's wide enough to cover her head, and it also provides head support so she's not constistanrly nodding at me
claudia trujillo no way
what a fantastic idea!
