In my opinion, it's more like Sombra cursed himself, so if he would be gone, the empire would be gone as well. So when Luna killed him, she activated the trap, which led to banishment. Arguments: 1. Luna, just like Celestia, wasn't aware about the possibility of banishment. 2. Luna was visibly regretful and terrified to tell about the incident (as well as for admitting to murder someone) So basically I'm against the argument, that Luna banished the Empire. To prove my point, i ask a question: 1: Why Luna would do this? This wasn't her plan at all.

Why do people find it so hard so comprehend that at this point, Luna had already been fighting the Shadow (Nightmare Moon) for a long time? She even says so. This is not a thing that only just happened because of Sombra. In fact, the reason why his attack didn't faze her was because she's used to much darker attacks, and because she can still channel and use it at this point without losing control. ...Not for much longer though.
Hello Blank Check. good reaction and I think I can help a bit. Celestia's weapon is a form of Halberd, think of a large battle axe on a pole. Luna has a lovely winged cross guard on her sword. We all know about Luna's 'go to' use of magic to fix things... Her making the Tantabus to punish herself is just one example. So, seeing her using spells like this in the video makes perfect sense. Poor Sombra... He tried so hard to sway Luna and then got 'full of himself' and forgot who he was dealing with. Luna without restraint would have been bad enough, but add in a proto Nightmare Moon?? He was toast. This video leaves one wondering if it was really Sombra that cursed the Empire, or Luna while under the influence of NM. the music, voice acting, and animation are all done very well, which is why this one is in my Top Ten Pony videos list. enough from me, the Frank Pony
Oh, I forgot to mention to your question.... that was NOT a horn on her helmet... it's a blade to intercept anything sharp attempting to slash at Luna's horn. If you could see from the tip down, it would appear to be a triangle with the flat side towards Luna's horn, thus stiffening the blade to aid it's function of deflection. Such deflection tech was used in old armors, but usually a flat scalloped design instead of a short blade. But, the bladed deflector works for the composite multi-piece armor sets they are wearing. Did you note the change in Sombra's weapon once Luna got it? His was flat on the outer face with a scythe inner surface. While she transformed it into a more traditional Sickle shape, almost like one long arm of a Moon's Crescent. I really loved Luna's use of spells to enhance her performance. This makes perfect sense, since we see her resort to spells often in the MLP series. Case in point: her use of a spell to create the Tantabus. Considering the video opens with "1000 years ago" I highly doubt that's the case. The vision could easily be Celestia's fear of her sister turning because she already knows the darkness dwelling inside Luna. The exact reason for the hair change isn't canon so that doesn't necessarily tell us anything.

We've seen fights all ready in MLP but would they make one out of the banishment of the Crystal Empire? Like the banishment of Luna? It would be great to see this 'canon' apply to MLP, in my opinion. Not so much, but there was a lull in my fandom activity for a while between school and other things. And I was just never totally on top of the UA-cam material prior the the channel- the music is what piqued my curiosity, and the fiction grabbed more of my focus. Seeing that I had so many fan productions to work with was part of the reason that I started the channel, really. But yeah, "The Immortal Game" is definitely in my top five. Some fantastic villains in there!

I like the way they put so much animations and credit into this along with Luna's transformation into Nightmare Moon and eventually she lost control and then just let it go let the darkness within her take care of what the fighting going on for finishing off the fight
You know "A tale of one shadow"? It is a short animation. This video just reminded me of it, because it was an interesting concept of how Sombra became what he was.
I think the whole... Sombra showing Luna her fears only for her to turn that on him as Nightmare Moon... was more of a "I showed them their fears, and they turned that against me." sorta deal. She saw how much power she'd have as Nightmare Moon and felt she needed it to defeat Sombra so she gave in, on the condition that the Nightmare stayed away. Perhaps a few years into the future, Luna felt that nagging jealousy of Celestia being worshiped as the "Goddess of the Sun" and the Nightmare used that as it's door to take over.
Oh, you're reacting to "Fall of the Crystal Empire." I haven't seen it myself, but I have heard some great things about it. And now I will get to see it along with you!
I agree with you regarding the empire's banishment. Based on Luna's responses to Celestia after it was all over, I definitely felt that Luna herself was at least partially to blame for the empire disappearing. Possibly even all to blame.
The Fall of the Crystal Empire was had very good animation and the magic that they use is well done animated and I can go on and on about how much I love this
Wow, how did you make it this long without seeing that video? I enjoyed your review, and it reminded me how epic these animations can be. You mentioned Immortal Game a couple times. I think if you liked that story, I have a recommendation for you that you would truly enjoy. The origins of Nightmare Moon as depicted here are very intriguing. At first glance, one might think it is incompatible with MLP's take on Nightmare Moon. But I have reconciled the two and expanded upon the lore to make it sync with the show. I don't absolve Luna of responsibility for becoming Nightmare Moon, but she _did_ have an external corrupting influence from Sombra which played a big part. Check out these metaphysics ideas. What I think happened was that when she atacked sombra she banished him to see all his fears. And she over did it to make sure he did not escape and accidentally banished the whole empire.

OK I noticed this while I was watching: In this story, Luna seems to be a lot like Makuta Teridax from BIONICLE, in that she squashed a rebellion, and later ended up rebelling in similar fashion to the one(s) she defeated. For those of you who don't know, in the LEGO BIONICLE lore, Teridax and the rest of the Brotherhood, alongside the Toa and others, squashed a rebellion led by 6 powerful dictators called the Baraki. Shortly afterwards, Teridax decided to improve on the Baraki's plan, and betrayed Mata Nui, sending him into a coma, and essentially setting the plot of the original BIONICLE into motion.
What Celestia is using is possibly an oddly formed halberd of sorts, battleaxes were *_much_* smaller than that. Almost the length of between your hand and elbow all the way back to your shoulder.
I love this animation so much. It is one of the things that give character developement to the Sisters. And it also further cements the horror of the Stars in the MLP universe.

Blank Slate Yeah 2014 was a lot more competitive lol. I wanted Beat It PMV to win that year but it got 2nd. I think some of the combat style here was inspired by the online series Ruby, especially Luna's parts.

The character of King Sombra is something that I've always wanted to see in the canon show and yet, we've only witnessed a few fractions of his villainous nature from S3 and 5(including the comics). But here in this particular head canon story, we get to see a great likeness of what this powerful entity or monarch that King Sombra could have been.
Yeah, I love seeing Sombra portrayed as capable/intelligent/regal. He has a lot of potential that hasn't been met, canonically (or sometimes can't be looked at in depth, considering the things he's done)

From how "Nightmare Moon" talked, she, I think, always existed as a darker part of Luna that she tried her best to master. Not to mention Celestia was afraid of Luna becoming Nightmare Moon meaning that Celestia also knew she existed. This side of her was probably all her dark emotions and thoughts that she repressed with the greatest of her might. But when Sombra did what he did, this side became her dark twin and friend. It took her over temporarily, but did back down only slightly. Then, branching across fanimations (fan animations) here to Lullaby for a princess, when Luna felt unloved, underappreciated, and undermined, this "friend of a demon" became her hero and she reluctantly let her darker side fight for the justice that she believed deep down she deserved for being treated that way. But then again this is all theories, and her darker side might have also been fighting for more than her justice... Read Background Pony is all I am gonna say. On Fimfiction, by Short Scraps and Explosions, it does a whole lot of world building for the Mlp Series and even explains Discord! *Starts singing discord*

Seeing that I had so many fan productions to work with was part of the reason that I started the channel, really.
But yeah, "The Immortal Game" is definitely in my top five. Some fantastic villains in there!

It's really well-written, I can safely say that no other fanfic I've read so far has moved me so much. I have to warn you though, it's extremely sad/dark, but I hope you can give it a read when you can find the time =)

I like the way they put so much animations and credit into this along with Luna's transformation into Nightmare Moon and eventually she lost control and then just let it go let the darkness within her take care of what the fighting going on for finishing off the fight

I think the whole... Sombra showing Luna her fears only for her to turn that on him as Nightmare Moon... was more of a "I showed them their fears, and they turned that against me." sorta deal. She saw how much power she'd have as Nightmare Moon and felt she needed it to defeat Sombra so she gave in, on the condition that the Nightmare stayed away. Perhaps a few years into the future, Luna felt that nagging jealousy of Celestia being worshiped as the "Goddess of the Sun" and the Nightmare used that as it's door to take over.
Oh, you're reacting to "Fall of the Crystal Empire." I haven't seen it myself, but I have heard some great things about it. And now I will get to see it along with you!
I agree with you regarding the empire's banishment. Based on Luna's responses to Celestia after it was all over, I definitely felt that Luna herself was at least partially to blame for the empire disappearing. Possibly even all to blame.
Yeah, it seems pretty implied that Nightmare Moon was the one who did the banishing.

The Fall of the Crystal Empire was had very good animation and the magic that they use is well done animated and I can go on and on about how much I love this
Wow, how did you make it this long without seeing that video? I enjoyed your review, and it reminded me how epic these animations can be. You mentioned Immortal Game a couple times. I think if you liked that story, I have a recommendation for you that you would truly enjoy.
The origins of Nightmare Moon as depicted here are very intriguing. At first glance, one might think it is incompatible with MLP's take on Nightmare Moon. But I have reconciled the two and expanded upon the lore to make it sync with the show. I don't absolve Luna of responsibility for becoming Nightmare Moon, but she _did_ have an external corrupting influence from Sombra which played a big part.

Battle axes aren't that long plus she stabbed Sombra with it. Battle axes are ment for swinging not stabbing automatically making it a halberd

What I think happened was that when she atacked sombra she banished him to see all his fears. And she over did it to make sure he did not escape and accidentally banished the whole empire.

I have a theory that this is why Nightmare Moon even exist. The strange letters around Luna was a spell to tie Nightmare Moon to Luna.

OK I noticed this while I was watching: In this story, Luna seems to be a lot like Makuta Teridax from BIONICLE, in that she squashed a rebellion, and later ended up rebelling in similar fashion to the one(s) she defeated. For those of you who don't know, in the LEGO BIONICLE lore, Teridax and the rest of the Brotherhood, alongside the Toa and others, squashed a rebellion led by 6 powerful dictators called the Baraki. Shortly afterwards, Teridax decided to improve on the Baraki's plan, and betrayed Mata Nui, sending him into a coma, and essentially setting the plot of the original BIONICLE into motion.
I chose to believe this is cannon

What Celestia is using is possibly an oddly formed halberd of sorts, battleaxes were *_much_* smaller than that. Almost the length of between your hand and elbow all the way back to your shoulder.

I second the idea for a immortal game animation. Though having terra and nihulis(and I just know I misspelled that) animated might be a bit of the disturbing side. Though an animated flutter dragon commander would be awesome.

Yeah 2014 was a lot more competitive lol. I wanted Beat It PMV to win that year but it got 2nd. I think some of the combat style here was inspired by the online series Ruby, especially Luna's parts.

Question: Do you plan on expanding your reaction videos for other TV shows? Like RWBY, Steven Universe, Gravity Falls, Star VS The Forces of Evil? Any of those would be great to react to, although you've probably already seen shows like Steven Universe and Gravity Falls, but if you haven't those would be great to react to; but if you do I highly suggest putting them on re directs. The character of King Sombra is something that I've always wanted to see in the canon show and yet, we've only witnessed a few fractions of his villainous nature from S3 and 5(including the comics). But here in this particular head canon story, we get to see a great likeness of what this powerful entity or monarch that King Sombra could have been.
Yeah, I love seeing Sombra portrayed as capable/intelligent/regal. He has a lot of potential that hasn't been met, canonically (or sometimes can't be looked at in depth, considering the things he's done)

Luna was seeing her fear; Nightmare Moon. And what Sombra meant by, "I was curious to why your sister would fear you." Celestia doesn't fear Luna, but Nightmare Moon. The ponies of Ponyville feared Luna because she was Nightmare Moon. (ofc you all already know that..)

From how "Nightmare Moon" talked, she, I think, always existed as a darker part of Luna that she tried her best to master. Not to mention Celestia was afraid of Luna becoming Nightmare Moon meaning that Celestia also knew she existed. This side of her was probably all her dark emotions and thoughts that she repressed with the greatest of her might. But when Sombra did what he did, this side became her dark twin and friend. It took her over temporarily, but did back down only slightly. Then, branching across fanimations (fan animations) here to Lullaby for a princess, when Luna felt unloved, underappreciated, and undermined, this "friend of a demon" became her hero and she reluctantly let her darker side fight for the justice that she believed deep down she deserved for being treated that way. But then again this is all theories, and her darker side might have also been fighting for more than her justice... Read Background Pony is all I am gonna say. On Fimfiction, by Short Scraps and Explosions, it does a whole lot of world building for the Mlp Series and even explains Discord! *Starts singing discord*
