The Writers did a brilliant Job "saluting" The Beales. They never would do that with The Bauers on Guiding Light. By the time the show went off the air in 2009 you almost forgot they existed and they represented Five Generations.
So many people today are giving out about why the fallout of Lucy's death cover-up is still in a way being played out more than three years later, and the answer is simple. Because DTC said it was a game changer, it would change lives forever. That's what Max's revenge is all about, this wasn't a story that ended the second Bobby was revelved or exposed but would go on beyond that and would have much more fallout that could go on for many more months and years.
IKR, he makes these storylines so brilliant. I hope he wins an award at this year's British Soap Awards. EastEnders all the way to win best british soap!
There's one thing that dosent make sense... Lucy had her phone when she was dead in the woods, but in an episode a few days ago someone was burying her purse and phone... The only thing I can think is that the police gave Lucy's belongings back to Ian, and that may have included her phone, so Ian buried her phone... :o
This storyline needs to be good, 10 months is a long stretch, not to sure about it not being "predictable" you can almost tell eastenders stories before they even happen like the current Shirley, Mick and Stan thing
At this point, I can't speculate who killed her, but I do think that it will be revealed that Lucy was pregnant. She had quite a heart to heart recently with the expectant Cindy about her pregnancy. I think that the BBC should have held a competition for best detective viewer who identifies both the purpetrator and the motive, in the shortest time for the 30th Anniversary of East enders - just sayin'😊
I'm gonna miss Hetti Bywater! :'-( She brightened up dreary Walford. They could've killed Tamwar, but it probably wouldn't have had the same impact.;-)
I can't help but agree. I can see it being a shocking, appealing storyline but I've always felt there were such potential for Lucy and Peter, having been part of an original family and born and grown up on screen. I can see EE regretting some decisions they make, particularly killing off long serving characters.

it's either max,jake, max - because when Ian was knocking on max's door hid hid so that Ian can't see him and when ian asked him what happened to Lucy he got angry and said NO! and when Lee & Lucy were together max found out & he was angry . Jake - because when he was in the restruant Lucy and Lee were there and he looked throught the window and he looked angry he also looks suspicious beuase he does not act himself
I'm pretty sure ABI BRANNING is the killer. because... -Finding out Lucy and her dad Max were having an affair, she probably didn't want her family breaking up yet again. -To keep her boyfriend Jay from getting with Lola, by killing Lucy, Peter's sister, Lola wouldn't leave Peter for Jay during such an emotional and heart breaking time. -For attention, given the fact her elder sister Lauren seems to get all the attention, after her alcoholism and now with her new business adventure with Lucy. The Eastenders promo has a song with the lyrics "...innocence lost" throughout, I'm certain the innocence in Abi Branning, the sweet golden girl is really no more. (and in the promo she stands out as the only cast member in a coloured coat, red, and appears "amongst" the group [promo says there is a "killer amongst them"]) Executive producer in this video..."It's going to chance a lot of relationships on the square" -with her father as Lucy was his lover, her sister as Lucy was her best friend and business partner, Jay, her boyfriend, Peter and Lola, close friends of hers, to name just a few. God this is so 180% from US Soaps. When they do an Anniversary Show, they do a Party, show Old School Clips, and bring back Old Friends who either work on Other Soaps. EastEnders is so smart because The Beales/Fowlers are still at the heart of The Show. In the US most of the Original Families kind of fade out in the background. The Bold & The Beautiful still have The Forresters & Logans while Days Of Our Lives have The Hortons.
The previous actress who played Lucy got kicked off the show due to bad behaviour off camera (in part caused because she was getting bullied off screen too). The current (or should i now say last) actress Hetti Bywater didn't get kicked off, neither did she want to leave. The writers decided to end her character as part of the plot... shame as i liked her character

These UK Soap Writers can give The US Fellows a run for their Money but Mal Young (Brookside) somehow didn't gel well during his tenure on The Young & The Restless 1973-present. Lily Ashby went to Jail, Hilary dies, Nikki kills her former Son In Law JT and there's a Pretty Little Liars Vibe aka The Code Of Silence. He no longer works on the Show but these past couple of years Writers, Producers (many of which are legends on US Soil couldn't cut the Mustard).

ABI! a lot of the characters are a lot too obvious, like Jake, Peter, Lauren, Max, Ian, Cindy, Whitney. when we found out who did it, i bet it will be a massive twist and be someone that we did not expect at all.
I don't wanna be waiting until 2015 to find out who did it and have weeks of episodes of " we don't anything yet" from the police, we've had that with Archie Mitchell doing something that prolonged again would be quite boring
