When I was in 16 I wanted to play guitar, and when I got one, my step mother threw my new guitar in the dumpster and my amp, she waited until trash day and while I was away at school. I asked her why she tossed it, she said it was because she felt like it. It was probably the saddest and most heart breaking day of my life she snuffed out the light in my eyes. And ever since then I never picked up a guitar again, until I came across this channel and this guitar demo, Thanks @R.J.Ronquillo soon as I save some money Im gonna buy this guitar. oh and I watch this video almost everyday lol
Damn that's horrific
That’s awful.
You're mom sounds like mine. I was abused like hell by her while growing up, she was fucking insane. I would buy one of those plastic model sets of a plane or ship and glue it all together, and when I was almost finished she would stomp on it. Or one time i became fascinated with model trains and saved up all my money and bought an N gauge train set and made a model of a little town on a piece of plywood about 3 X 3 feet and made a mountain out of plaster of paris and I came home from school one day and she said she sold it. Never saw it again. And BTW she was a hardcore democrat, which is why I hate those fuckers today with a passion, seriously hate them, they're all fucking insane
Bro... I hate this story...I'm totally bummed out just reading this! I hope you find the most Joy and purpose in life!
That's some cold hearted stuff there.
Top notch. I've always wanted a Baritone since The Beatles in 1968, but always talked myself out of it. Just couldn't see laying out the bread for something I'd only play occasionally. Now almost 71 I'd still like one. Which means I spent a lifetime wanting one but never got it. Enjoy playing.
oh. JUST DO IT! you can sell it later like I did after bending too many notes with my um.......
71 yr old tendons. ouch! Strings are 13-70 gauge I bet here.
I'm looking for a baritone and this is about the only place I go now for instrument demos...
I appreciate this channel and R.J's presentation for various instruments.
No talking, just the facts. Makes the demo about the instrument, not about himself. Good vibe.
That seems to be really hard to find on YT.
That is such a rounded solo; it's amazing that he improvised it. I've been transcribing it, and the more of the solo I work through the more impressed I am. RJ is super talented!
Killer playing man! Well done :-)
Thanks!
Awesome playing RJ. That rig is completely sick sounding for under a hundred bucks. May have just made up my mind which baritone to get
just wanted to let everybody know, I finally bought the Danelectro 66BT guitar! ITS FINALLY HAPPENING!! @R.J.Ronquillo feels good!
What's the string height on your 66BT, measured at the 12th fret?
Wow, great chops man. Before recently buying my first baritone, I watched probably 100 videos here on UA-cam with baritone playing, and yours is one of the few that is truly inspiring.
I'm startin' to come around on those Danelectros !
Just bought one, same colour. Worth every penny, and sounds more expensive too. That P90... 🤤
Sounds incredible - I noticed the bass run you did on the neck pickup as well - very versatile with a glassy top end on the bridge pickup. In a two guitar gig, I think one of these could negate the need for a bass player.
my favorite guitar player for all styles. he play the 50 style brilliant. Thanks RJ.
Perfect song selection and playing for that guitar...as always.
what song is this ?
Danelctro is *SLAYING IT*
THIS THING IS SWEET!
I don’t understand why there are any thumbs downs for this video. This was excellent! Stellar playing in a variety of cool styles, and a very versatile sounding baritone guitar on top of that. Thank you for this, sir!
Real nice! Just right! Not too busy, not too simple. Great tone, especially those low notes! Very 😎 cool. I came here looking for baritone guitarra with tremolo bridge. Found it!
The first 2 and a half minutes are pure gold! I could envision Jimmie Vaughan playing that. Awesome man!
Do you know the name of the song?
I'm telling you man he puts on the best demos. I am interested in baritones and I'm glad he has a demo of one. Learned a lot from him playing it alone.
Children of the Grave. What a nice surprise.
this still my favorite guitar and video on the 66BT
I just ordered one of these. Looks like a lotta fun.
God.... you are such a great guitar player...
My favorite demo of an vintage style BT guitar, hands down.Kid Ramos Rules !!!
Your videos made me buy a baritone guitar and I couldn't be happier! Best guitars ever
You have a great talent...love the twangy picking...God bless.
Fantastic! Bravo!
Holy Shit , really refreshing playing ! Dude , you rule!
Wow! I want one......& more time to practice! Great playing.
Your demos are the Best !!
Nice... Had a Danelectro Wildthing Baritone - sold on this now, thanks
Love it!
Great playing! I'm impressed!
Awesome playing as always 😎
Always great Thanks for the demo What a wild guitar🏄🏻♂️
One smooth guitar player.
I'm glad I bought the 66BT instead of the Rivolta Mondata, which sounds much more muffled and not as sparkling and vivid as the 66BT. The neck pickup of the 66BT has something piano-like to it, which I love about this guitar.
So glad I saw this! I'm dipping my toes into the baritone world and have been looking at same Rivolta. I'm loving the sound of the Danelectro though. Thinking of following your lead here!
@@Dooley_Noted The 66BT is a neck diver, though. It's not an ergonomic guitar. Just look at the odd body shape. But the tone! Delicious. But I'm currently playing my Squier Bass VI the most. I love the pickup combinations and it's better balanced than the 66BT.
@@danielleinad6019 Can't lie, the odd aesthetic of this gets my attention for sure lol. I've peeked at the Squier as well but keep coming back to this and the Rivolta for some reason. But that tone is beyond killer.
Great playing! on a nice looking Baritone.
That guitar sounds killer through the PT100 😎
This is a very enjoyable performance. Love that Bari. man
Great chops! I'm not crazy about the tones of the Danelectro '66BT, but dang...seriously cool playing.
And now for something completely different. Excellent demo again RJ!
Sounds amazing.....
Killer - That was awesome!
incredible...i love it.
I'm digging that swing! Sassy and snappy. That playing is dripping attitude. Quick...Somebody get a mop and bucket.
Sounds great! And your playing puts a big fat smile on my face, man!
This sounds so cool! Great playing to boot 🤙🏼🤘🏼
Your tone is killer.
Truly awesome and inspiring! That guy can make any guitar sound well without any doubt, wished we could hire him as a teacher! Also curious if we can use his music on film/documentary? Price? Hire him as composer for filmmusic? Hasn't Tarantino discovered him yet?
Fcking RJ. Killer impro on the intro. Godamn. Made me wanna pick my gtr right now (fck I miss playing bluesy stuff)
You're the man, R.J.! Nice tattoo of Abuela BTW...
The Fender guitars envy that twangy tone
Hallo R.J. that guitar sounds fantastic, special for blues!! Nice
Face melting awesomeness my friend!
So gooood !
do you get to keep all the stuff companies send you?
if so I'm in the wrong line of work lol
Grande Maestro !!!
Very inspiring. YUGE!
Hey bud, any chance of a "Selecting Best Amp for Baritone Guitar" video? $700 range. (For clean tube sound) So many baritone videos are focused on Djent.
Sounds good man ! I want a bariton myself. You made it sound really cool :-)
Siiiiiiiiiiiiiiick
What is the name of the first song? That is KILLER! I keep coming back to this. Can I buy it?
Как всегда офигительно!
Hey R.J. just wondering if you could do more demos on the 66BT trying out different pedals with it, maybe perhaps get crazy and do some insane melodic metal riffs or full spaghetti western fist full of dollars or good bad and the ugly type of thing.it be a real treat and I think it would be supremely cool to see you go HAMMMMMM on it haha. I feel theres so much potential with this guitar. anyways PEACE! and happy playing
children of the grave sounded good
Is that first piece a cover or your own work? I'd love to know the song either way.
Great playing. Im curious if you have any recommendations for mods on this guitar? Im wondering about the tuners, bridge, nut, and volume pot specifically. Could i get away happily with locking tuners and a bone nut and call it a day?
what a player... tasty!
Nice !!!
good lord
What's the scale length on the baritone version?
Okay, now I need one of these. Bad.
Sabbath!
1:04 - 1:14 dang!
finally, someone playing this damn thing and getting twang out of it! I'm looking for a Duane Eddy/spaghetti/spy tone machine and this may fit the bill perfectly. How would this sound with another pair of lipsticks in the neck, maybe with a second pull knob to make it a basic 2 pickup single coil?
I see that 3 people did not like this demo. What the F is up with them? You my man, are bad!
my theory is that they tried to "like" the demo and just missed
Hey R.J. what was the first song you were playing?
Just convinced my friend at work to buy one. He loves it. I have to admit, you make the dan electro sound good. By the way, please tell me what song you play starting at 3:15
Sold me bro!
Sounds good! What gauge strings does a baritone guitar take? I’m not experienced with baritones. Also, are they EADGBE?
My 56 Dano had 13-70 gauge
prolly tuned b to b is stndard on Dano Baris
Please tell the song at 3:15
i was playing along until 1:04 to 1:13 happened lol, ill just put my guitar back in its case.
WHich amp?
Suhr PT100
What makes this a baritone? Only has 6 strings
Usually tuned to an A or B that are below a guitar that is in E. So to achieve an A or an B in a playable format, the scale length is longer usually between 26" and 30" and strings are thicker usually between 12 and 68. The baritone is kind of between a regular guitar and a six string bass
It has a longer scale. Even Danelectro's own site doesn't tell you what it is, but their Vintage Baritone is 29.75" / 728mm, so I'm guessing this will be similar.
How would you tune this?
I bought one of these after watching your video, I love it , but now realize that you could make a broomstick guitar sound good... you are not to be trusted..lol..just kidding
Something too many of us fall victim to is realizing that 90% of the sound coming out of our speakers it the musician, not the instrument. You don't need higher quality gear, you need to practice more. Great missions make a first act from walmart sound like gold.
When playing sitting on a chair everything is fine. But when standing on stage with a strap, the neck/head constantly tilts down and you have to correct with your left hand.
What a bad design!
don't show this to the people at fender. you would ruin their world. That's Twang at its finest!
