Tips for delivering to Walmart. Google map your store. Look at front of store if you can and look for what side of the store says grocery. Also most of the time the GM side of the store is by the auto center. Most docks are marked GM or GRO. Those are the best tips I can give you.
Also, usually on single dock stores your trip sheet will say like “two inside docks for grocery, two outside for GM” or something like that. I’ve yet to do reefer, I’ve been doing dedicated out of Brookhaven for a while now but we only do GM and non refrigerated grocery
Really enjoy Kevin’s point of view, I have been behind the wheel when I was younger but couldn’t call myself a trucker but am really fascinated with truckers and their job, thanks for all you and your fellow truckers do!
Great description. I stay at the destination or 1/2 way back for 8 then head back. If u send an accurate eta, they will preplan u. 34hrs is a long time to sit. That’s why I recap until I go on hometime somewhere. Also if I look at the overhead view on Google maps u can see where all the coolers are. That’ll give u an idea which dock is grocery. Lastly, after 3pm, generally I’ll call ahead or just walk around. The receiver doesn’t use ntransit as much as the shipper. Great Plains where the roads are straight and flat and traffic is minimal.
Required equipment back in my day hauling reefer would be a CB radio, Bearcat Police scanner and a great Birddog. I wonder how many of you know what a birddog is? All the best Kevin, stay safe Driver.

Have you ever experimented with split sleeper intervals and recapturing hours to avoid 30 hour resets and keep moving when you’re out there on your own?
With elogs, my understanding is a solo driver can split in the sleeper berth (line-2) one time; but after 11 hours driving you gotta go off-duty line-1 for 10 hours, period. 70 hours on-duty in 8 days is a 34 hour reset. Period. Even if you run out of hours halfway across the frigging George Washington Bridge. That's the gubbermint you're dealing with. All common sense is down the toilet. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong.
