The coolest thing on the homestead is your mom.. she's awesome.. the community part too, it's a beautiful blessing to have a caring community around you.. I'm in a big city, and it's disheartening to see what community we have left fanning. Twin Willow Farms is a perfect name... 🤗☮️💚
Thank you Cindy, I bet if you prayed about it you would find like minded people you could connect with. They are probably thinking the same thing. Go for it. Reach out
Ok that was great!! I've sat for hours and hours listening to my grandfather about how they lived off their own land when he was a boy!! To see what I've imagined for so long was such a heart warming smiling from ear to ear thing!! I'm so impressed by how beautiful all of it is!! I'm sure your Mom and Step-Dad have put lots of time and love into their home and "Twin Willow Farms" which makes it even more amazing!!
Asa’s Mom is my hero! This is the life I dream about! Thank you ‘Mom’ and Asa for bringing us along on this fantastic tour! I wish you happiness and success 🌻🦮
I LOVED this video!! The hardest part for me was knowing that the pigs and some chickens will eventually be on the table. Don't get me wrong though...I so respect that and know it is just how it is! I enjoy bacon, pork, chicken and so on and 100% know where it it comes from and choose to still consume...LOL! Naming the animal though...that is rough! Beautiful property! So much respect for your mom!! And I agree...mom needs a channel. Just do what she does daily with a tripod and camera on her. No words really needed unless she wants to speak. Just a day in that life!! I would love it and find it relaxing.
Oh my heart Asa, your Mom is absolutely amazing!!! That is some hard work and dedication, and something we should all thrive for when the end times hit! Wow, I love this content!❤️
Your Mom’s Food Storage reminds me of my childhood. During the summer every year my Mom and Aunts and My Grandma would be canning everything in the garden. From Tomatoes to Peppers, Pickles, Peaches, apricots, and so on. My favorite was when my mom would use mrs. Wages salsa, oh that stuff is so good. Unfortunately my Grandma passed away a few years ago and my mother is in her 70s and is showing signs of dementia/Alzheimer’s so it’s hard for her to remember how she used to do things. As for me I’m still learning. I’ve learned how to can homemade cranberry sauce and homemade blueberry sauce, it’s delicious. I will definitely check out the video of Priscilla making the homemade mayonnaise. Thank you for sharing your Mother’s Homestead.
Abby is looking as if she is so at home and enjoying her self, and precella looked like she was going to cry when you're mom said the pigs 🐖 are for eating. As she is hand feeding one. Enjoy your vacation and family. From Arizona stay safe stay healthy stay cool 😎
This was insanely amazing to watch. I live in a super urban city and it’s really beautiful to see the exact opposite. I am so grateful for people like your mother!
Listening to your mom I could here her contentment. The fruit trees are the answer 🙂 I am trying to find me some land so that I can retire early next year and do just what she's doing...enjoying life! She's a beautiful lady and her spirit is so gentle. Thank you for sharing giving me hope and raising my level of anticipation!
What a beautiful homestead! Moms knowledge and the love she has for what she is doing is most impressive! So interesting to watch and listen to. Would be fun to follow along with the homestead 😊😊😊
I loved this!! I wish her homestead could have its own channel. I would watch it like I do FA! Like a tv show. What a smart woman with a hell of a green thumb
I would love to have more details on the items she has canned. I LOVED this episode. We are beginning to homestead and I would love to learn more from Miss Jessica. Great episode and beautiful farm! Thank you.
Love to see Cilla with the farm animals, her laughter just makes me so happy!! Tame rabbit is awesome we have a 22 acre farm and we raised rabbits for awhile they are very easy to raise and multiply like crazy, lol. We have black angus, 5 hoses and 15 goats. And you are right it is so nice to be self sufficient and be able to grow and raise your own food. It is so rewarding. And the meat and vegetables you raise yourself are so much better than any store bought and you know what you are eating it’s not pumped full of steroids and antibiotics it’s so much healthier!!! You have a really wonderful place!!!
The most coveted thing that I saw is your Mom Jessica with her knowledge & experience. What a beautiful & bountiful place they created, Twin Willow Farms! Much love to all!
I have never had any room but enough for a nice sized garden but I grew up with my mom canning…I started canning and added a garden with my kids…became disabled so never got to have any animals but I still can foods…now my grown. Kids can and hunt and fish and garden as well….people always looked at me funny when I worked so hard for gardening and canning…after 2020 they get it now….nothing like being as self sufficient as you can …..Getting ready for canning season here where I live and cannot wait ! Nothing better then homemade canned goodness!
I would LOVE to do this! I'm terrified of snakes and moving to Florida soon and know nothing about their soil. But your momma is the sweetest and I'm requesting she's on your channels more often 😘🥰
I’m so excited to follow you guys on your travels! Dang, saying that out loud can sound really creepy.😂 Seriously though, your channel is such a blessing! Stay safe out there.💖
One thing I realize as I research homesteading is you really do not need a lot of land. Most videos I have watch, they own less than 5 acres. I was originally going to buy 20-40 acres out west but realize I do not need all that land plus it is hard to grow out west without importing so much topsoil and whatnot to grow what you want. I'm currently looking for 4-5 acres of land to start.
I’ve just got into growing fruit and vegetables in the last year. I don’t have a lot of space but what l have I’ve grown Cherry Tomatoes 🍅 and Capsicum’s 🫑 and did really well for a first timer. Now in growing brown onions 🧅 and Dutch Carrots 🥕 I find gardening so therapeutic and rewarding. Thank you Jessica for showing us your homestead.🙏🥰😃
Love her homestead! We are moving to SC with my daughter’s family soon. They plan to buy something like this and we’ll all play and work on it together. Does she have her own page? Would love to connect with her. ❤
Willow Farm popped in my head 💭 Before she announced the name of her “Twin willow farm “ Willow trees are my all-time favourite tree (I’m obsessed) brings back childhood memories
Your mom and dad are such lovely, wonderful, fun, kind people. I always enjoy the vlogs when they are on, but it's especially lovely to see around their farm. I remember a video Isaiah did a year or so ago while he was visiting. Their garden has certainly transformed and expanded since then, if memory serves (which is doesn't always). Anyways I'm loving your videos, as always. Hugs and blessings for safe and fun adventures. Heather🇨🇦
Growing up "country" this is my kinda story! I could relate to everything she talked about....we had 2 gardens growing up...one we ate out of and one we preserved. My grandparents raised meat rabbits. We could never figure out why Sunday fried chicken had no drumsticks at Grandma's house!😂 Canned goods and potatoes and winter apples were kept in the underground storage (fruit cellar or cave) . Good memories!
I feel that Asa's mom would be a blast to be around. I loved all the fruits and veggies. I have tomatoes, squash, okra and peppers. Nothing great big, just enough. ❤from Tennessee!!!
Absolutely loved this video!!! I've got some dill in my dehydrator. If I had more property I would have chickens and pigs. I grew up on a pig farm. Miss those days.
Your family is always inspiring me!! In a few months I’m leaving my home in NYC to head down to Florida. With so many places in Florida we decided on Jacksonville due to watching your blogs for years. My dream is to also homestead and I got a lot of joy and insight from your moms place! Enjoy and stay safe on the road
All that wholesome food !I agree the hardest part is when an animal dies on you or crops won't grow. I only have 1/2 acre but we have chickens and grow a lot of veggies.
When my sons were younger, we used to can everything from everything in the garden and meats. Never did any eggs. But now, our farm is in "retirement". Its sad. I would live to see one of my sons take this place and breathe life back into it again someday.
Yes I think Asa’s mom should have a UA-cam channel. She is amazing and I could have watched her for hours. She explains things so you can really grasp what she’s explaining. This was one of your best videos, I enjoyed it so much. We can all learn from her how to do things. She is fun and I’d love to go see the homestead, like you all did. Pull up and hangout and learn so much from her. Asa try and talk her into a UA-cam channel. She’s seems like such a natural at doing this. I bet the, pups really enjoyed roaming all over, however I never saw Maverick. He just wasn’t to impressed 😊Thank you so much for sharing your visit with your parents. Loved it. Salt travels
The only thing I won’t do is kill the animals to eat them. I would definitely love to have a farm with vegetables and fruits though and let the animals roam around. Aside from my opinion this homestead is beautiful Asa!
Asa you must get your mom started with her own channel she has a wealth of knowledge to share. And her voice is perfect it’s so relaxing and soothing listening to her speak.
Awe..you made me homesick, Asa. I was born and raised in NC. We raised almost everything we ate...plant and animal. So did most everyone I grew up with. We didn't call it "homesteading" back then. It was simply our way of life. It kills me when I hear people talk about farm to table like it's something somebody recently just came up with off the top of their head. I never tasted any vegetable that came from a can until I moved away from home. And the only meat we purchased was chicken because we raised our own beef and pork.
The homestead is amazing I love the twin willow’s garden but really all of it is amazing, It makes me think how much better off our world would be if most of us could manage to do just some of that but honestly it looks exhausting idk how she does it every day❤️
Asa, ask your mom to do make a video on how she saves her her seeds. Maybe she can film it her self and send it to you. You can add it to this channel.
