hey yansky! thanks for the video. Not enough of this anywhere. It's incredible to see how long it takes to make just one drum! Congrats on the many days of hard work... Suggestion: try wetting (damping) the wood before forcing it into shape!!! Thanks again!
Good stuff and great hand tool use. If you're going into production try a band saw for all those bevel cuts (my favourite ever power tool). Nice to know that it's not only me that has cracking wood and other problems, and you get out of it really well.
bom bom bom jesus. que lindo seu atabaque! And for those overseas, it sounds mean!! and go the CUT CHEMIST bro! Honestly its taken me some time to get here, but so glad i arrived. I dunno what to commend more, the drive, the craftsmanship, the audio, or the video...tudo bem meu amigo, tudo bem. Luv the pegs undropping....the commander approves and salutes!
An amazingly inspiring series! What kind of wood did you use? I am from Sweden and I am wondering what characteristics of the wood is preferred to make a good atabaque? We have mostly birch and pine wood here.
Hey Yan, I just got done watching all 4 parts of your atabaque documentary, and was wondering if you've posted instructions somewhere online? I'd love to make one similar to yours and having the instructions typed up would be awesome. Or if there's other instructions online? Thanks in advance for your response!

This is by far the most useful documentary on drum making I have seen in a long time.
Thanks a lot. Hopefully other capoeiristas will pick it up.
