Wales legend Scott Gibbs suspects the Irish may have a surprise in store for the Boks when the teams clash at Kings Park on Saturday. #Springboks #Rugby
I am impressed by how the Irish have built their rugby pedigree over the last 8 or so years. International rugby is never easy, as a springbok supporter I like the northern and southern hemisphere power countries at this stage I see them as the big five, Boks, AB’s, Ireland, France, England. On any given day any of them can beat the other and it’s great to see.
@@klagoshaya5517 its actually 20 years not 8 Ireland have won 6 6 nations since 2004 and SA haven’t beaten Ireland in Ireland since 2012. What you see since 2016 is a consistency of our place on the world rankings. We now must show we can compete in the very later stages of the World Cup and it will be something our union will strive to do. Lots of work to do but every year Ireland have improved.
As an Irishman we Irish have nothing but respect for SH rugby, we have been aspiring for decades to reach that level.the BOKS are special, as are the ABs , Wallabies are in a transition but still have that rugby pedigree! NH has emerged over the last 10 years to not only compete but to beat their SH brothers. IRELAND is particularly exceptional if you consider how small we are not only as a nation but as a Rugby nation where rugby is not our national sport, I fact it is ranked 4th in Ireland so for us to be world no 1 was an incredible achievement! So I feel the SH need to be more gracious and consider the context of Irish rugby compared to the BOKS! I still believe we have e a chance however I do think the BOMS will come out on top!
So firstly. South Africa deserved the win last week. Over the 80 minutes they were the better side. However many refs feel that the Lowe try should have stood. That’s 13 all at a crucial time. If not given, there should have been a penalty for the neck role. While SA missed penalties, Ireland also missed out on 7 points the same way. They game could have been different. This Saturday it’s almost a B team for Ireland and an SA team with 20 World Cup winners. On paper we have little hope, but this team will not give up. Here’s hoping the calls go our way this time.
Why must the calls go your way. The times you beatern us you had the calls go your way, we didn't act like Salty fans. The calls must be called correctly.
@@llewellynlamb9545 Because when the top teams play each other, that’s usually what is the difference. You got some very lucky calls last week. Try struck off for Ireland and given a try when Kolbe’s foot was likely on touch. Those changes alone see Ireland win the game. When we beat you in Dublin, the internet was awash with salty Saffa comments and even videos analysing the calls. You don’t see the same from Irish fans. My comment was respectful, but you couldn’t help yourself.
Scott Gibbs is great and his tour stories are great fun! But we don't really care about Wales to listen to analysis of them for 10mins. If we were playing them now, then yes

South Africa has boat loads of good will they they've got due to their history and the way they play and the adversity they've been under. If that's diminished lately no one else is to blame but themselves
The Bok backrow remains problematic without a strong ball carrier in the mold of Jasper, Evan or Elrigh. Kwagga is more effective as a replacement. Faf and Polly must improve on last Saturdays form. Grant, Morne, SMZ and Mannie are more suited to a more expansive game plan.
What nobody is talking about is the effect of the altitude on the boks at the end of the game against ireland, only the bulls players in the boks would have been unaffected and how many is that, Eskom and Arendse off the top of ny head. The boks looked more affected by the altitude than Ireland did imho.
Wonderfull to have Mr Gibbs input. Expecting Ireland to kick return the ball with bounce or on the ground to keep it wet esp in Durban to mess up the Boks handeling for their new running attack. Boks to win comfortably eventually. NZ centres Barrit & Ioane are not their best centres, foot work of 12 and defense & lines of 13 problematic but overlooked. England not smart enough to take advantage of this though, likely to loose again. Wales sadly to get pumped by the Crims worse than last week.

If Ireland win on Saturday it will or should feel like a lost series to SA with all their advantages as well as injury count and SAs much bigger pool of rugby players.
@@geoffnelson6756 ja thats interesting, you'd think the teams who've been playing together, developing cohesion and confidence in their systems, would've done better against the teams who just got together a few weeks ago, with new coaches, players and systems.
