As to similarities, both cities have been voted one of the three cities in the Philippines to receive the ASEAN Clean Tourist City Award 2020-2022. Both cities are beautiful in their own right. Baguio City is beautiful because of its highland location, it's temperature and flora and fauna. Iloilo City is the most beautiful low-land city in the Philippines. But Iloilo City has been voted by NUMBEO, the international research agency , as one of the three safest cities in Southeast Asia 2024 (Makati, Davao, Iloilo). ILOILO CITY's annual Dinagyang Festival has for countless times been declared by the Dept. of Tourism of the Philippines as the Best Tourism event in the Philippines. It has also for countless times been the grand champion in the yearly ALIWAN Festival of Festivals. For 2024, the Dinagyang Festival has. Been voted in a meeting in Japan by the Asian association of tourism officers as the Best Asian Folk Festival for 2024. Both BAGUIO CITY and ILOILO CTY are the Most Walkable Cities in the Philippines, but ILOILO CITY has the advantage of an extensive biking lanes and riverside and creekside Esplanades, the most expensive in the Philippines, which connects the entire city and the plentiful parks and plazas and the biking lanes.
