- its BUSY around here..the babies are keeping us hoping and there is always something that needs to be done.
We need to THANK all the people who donated to the feral foal...its been outstanding in support for the babies.
ALSO - we recieved several cards in the mail - we LOVE them. so thoughtful and considerate.

It's so nice the baby has such a great experience with a male, yes gelded I gather, but I doubt in a herd they'd get such an awesome babysitter. Reminds me of a guy dad hired to help him, he ended up sitting with me in the living room watching sesame street. Mom said he didn't hire himself a helper, he hired her a babysitter. I remember that too. His name was Charlie.
What a beautiful little girl and how lucky to be in a safer environment. Hope she doesn't miss her mom too much.

My uncle had a horse that ate some twine and died from it. Vet said it wrapped around stomach and intestines. So horrific.

I posted on Silver's foal birth before seeing this video. I had asked if both Holly and Silvers foals are from the same stallion, which this video stated James is the sire to Silver's foal. Is James also Holly's foal sire as well?
I initially heard it that way, but I'm pretty sure that James is gelded. Holly and Silver were both artificially inseminated in Alberta. She posted the breeding information in Holly's foaling video description.

Question: Why is Holly going to Breeder when she has a 2 week old foal. Is this normal for horses to have pregnancies close together.
In this video, Holly is going for an ultrasound to check follicle-size so later they will know how soon they can do artificial insemination. Candice explained it when showing the trailer leaving.
I just assumed that a mare would stay with her foal for a year before thinking about a new pregnancy. I am an Australian midwife and love pregnancy and birth and was interested in why it’s done so quickly (In the wild I could understand). I love learning new things and it’s better to get a good response from Jordan than google the answer.
The problem with Piper may be that you have a kinda loud raucous voice and she finds that unpleasant. I do!
