Well Darjeeling is my 2nd home... suggest u to visit lepchajagat and lamhatta...also there r many small villages to chill and spend some time with nature
The Toy Train of Darj is an iconic heritage of the world famous district and town! Great that u guys visited...grew up in and abouts this area! Btw, the Brit colonials had built similar narrow gauge trains in Shimla, Himachal Pradesh, in North India and Ooty ( Udhagamandalam), Tamil Nadu in South India...try and visit those places also...they would be giving u different scenic exlperinces of the diverse geog of India! ✌
For your info. India has world's oldest running locomotive as well. It's called fairy queen. Mostly it is kept in national rail museum New Delhi but in winter it takes 2 days trip to sariska national park near alwar.

I have not seen many foreign tourists visiting Darjeeling. Most people visit just kolkata. I have been to Darjeeling, Kalimpong and Siliguri just before pandemic. It's a very beautiful place. Wishing you a happy and safe journey 💕
You should go lepchajagat. It's 2 to 3km from ghum. It offers you a dense pine forest with clouds fog and Kanchenjunga, world's 3rd highest peak. But you r not lucky to see Kanchenjunga because of foggy weather. The ideal time is October to March for a clear weather.

I hope you realize that the tickets aren’t particularly expensive. It’s like 20 USD or something, which is peanuts (for what it is) - I’ve paid far more to enter places in Australia (where I’m from) and in the US. Just because India is a bit cheaper, doesn’t mean UNESCO heritage sites and artefacts are going to be cheap/free - how do you think they’re maintained/serviced! Anyway, I quite enjoy your content in general - keep up the good work! Hello from the land down under, and safe travels!
