After engraving, clear the tile under water and enjoy 🙂 regards from Germany
Thank you very much for the information. I have some titanium oxide to do some tests. Just can’t get to it quite yet. I appreciate you giving me this information
I just did a star wars calendar on my CNC. (And a marvel). I really liked the millennium falcon tile. That’s gonna make me try the Norton tile method right there. Thanks for this video!!
Hi Paw Paw, i am going to follow your prior video on the Norton Method. I have been working on my CNC for some wedding projects. I have a project to create tiles for a twentieth anniversary. I cannot wait to get this going. Thank you so much for the two videos. I will let you know how this goes for me.
Yes these videos were great I would love to see a breakdown of different power writings and things of that nature is far speed for materials such as ceramic would medals that kind of thing I think would really help enhance other things to happen instead of relearning these things that people already know
The paint must have titanium oxide in it to work. In the US, Rustoleum white or Smokey beige works well. Many of the litter colors have titanium oxide in them. So, the color is not the most important element.
Great video! I've noticed a little mistake you made in the picture editor. You set the "Enhance Radius" up and saw nothing changing and then set it back at zero, after that you upped the amount and saw again nothing happening. These 2 settings work together, the amount is the amount radius.
I'm new to the laser engraving world(Sculpfun S10), and watching your videos has helped me immensely. I've learned so much in a short time, you always explain everything clearly and fully. I love that storm trooper image! I've found the falcon but I have searched and searched and can't find that image. If you could find it in your heart to share a link to it I would be very grateful. Again, thanks for all the videos.
Love this video, very informative and has helped me out a great deal!!! I have watched lots of your videos and all i have watched are great... I would not be able to do a lot of things if not watched and learned from you!! So a big THANK YOU from Chris in the UK.....
Great video but im new to laser engraving and are not sure about my power settings. How powerful is your laser and is speed and power scalable to other lasers?
Just odered my first laser and I'm going through 'A LOT' of vidoes and I've been watching your videos on the white ceramic tiles. They came out awesome. Have you tried this method on other tile colours? Maybe light colours that contrast well with black.
Once you add a mask you can move the image around the frame, once you are then happy with the position, right click and flatten the image. It’s then locked in position.
Another excellent video and fantastic results. You even got a mention from Ritch, that would have made my day :) You are now on my favorite UA-camrs list for Laser Diode Machines. Keep up the great work and I look forward to your future projects from the Land Down Under.
I am using 7w Chinese version using 100/100 and the image is great but smudges and does not penetrate the tile. Any suggestions?? I prepped the tile as you demonstrated
Im having trouble getting a Darker finish. Only thing ive noticed Is I only do a light Vertical coating of paint not a Vertical and Horizontal..? Could this be it? I will prep some tiles and try again tomorrow.
@@PawPawsWorkShop The coating was my issue, just finished several tiles following you %100 this time and the coating was where I failed. These are perfect now. Thank you PawPaw

I noticed in your first example, you had set up LightBurn so that laser was scanning on quite an angle, not simply straight across the tile. Was there any advantage to doing that? Thanks
Hey Paw Paw...great video!! I really love Star Wars!!!! Question...I see you using the Sculpfun S9 laser...is this one your new favorite? I am looking at the XTool D1 and the Sculpfun...I'm not sure about the Fox Alien...any suggestions would be great!
All are great lasers. The xTool D1 is outstanding however, you must learn how to effectively use the red cross hairs. It’s definitely different from other lasers. The FOXAlien with the 40 watt laser is very similar to the Sculpfun S9. I do find that the focus on the S9 is a little better
Trying to set up a .jpeg picture on a 6x6 tile...when I try to do the MASK, it is grayed out, even though I have the pic selected. Any ideas? I am using my D1Pro 40 watt, and I am VERY new at this. Trying to put an image of my Mom in law on the tile for her daughters...
I'm trying to figure out why this method didn't work for me? I used exactly the same stuff. White ceramic tile, acetone and the same rustoleum paint. My laser is a co2 glowforge pro.
Glow forge is a co2 with a 2 inch focal length. He's using a diode. It has a small dot size that's why it took him 3 hours. A co2 could do it in no time but the resolution is gonna look bad unless you have your dpi perfect. 318 is what will probably give you the best result.
It's really good 50/50 mix with IPA don't worry about spraying it on a bit heavy it will work. Just be careful because the titanium oxide comes off easy.

The titanium oxide is what the laser is reacting to when it burns.

I am wondering why the text at the top of the last tile did not burn very well?
The reason was my fault. The paint was thin and the text was very small and thin
Has anyone done this on an xtool D1 pro 20watt? I can’t seem to get the settings right.
Run a test grid to get the best settings. Yes, you can definitely do this on a the xTool D1 pro
Why no air assist?
I know that a lot of people do not have air assist. They need to see how it works as well
I'm unable to find Rust Oleum paint here so I was wondering would the spray paint by ABRO Industries, Inc. work?
Check with the manufacturer and find a paint with titanium oxide as an ingredient.

500mm/min and 60% power

3 hr. engraving time. THERE IS NOT ANY PROFIT IN THAT.
The only way to profit is in volume and you must be working on other projects while engraving. You must maximize your time.
