    Life Below Zero first premiered in the year 2013, and ever since then, it has consistently delivered premium content for viewers. If there is any show that is exciting, scary, and heartbreaking at the same time, then it is Life Below Zero. Due to the nature of the environment, it was important for the show producers only to feature those who are capable of surviving the harsh weather and unforeseen circumstances, hence the appearance of Glenn Villeneuve.
    Glenn Villeneuve was one of the few cast members of the show that started from its inception before leaving. His departure was indeed a rough one for many of the show’s viewers, who enjoyed his charismatic approach to all tasks. It’s been a few years since he left the show, but what really happened to him? Let’s find out, shall we?

    He was the reason I watched. Loved his narration and easy style. So well spoken for someone with no formal teaching. Much respect to him for standing and LIVING on his principles

      do you remember the show when he spoke of driving the boat 100 miles each way and planned on making many trips to get items which he planned to use to fix the house's
      foundation
      let me know if I got this right?

      There's no such thing (anymore) as "formal teaching", it's nothing but a memorization and indoctrination camp.... Glenn is a licensed pilot, married a German opera singer (divorced now, but still friends), he's written a couple books.... He knows far more than anyone graduating from Columbia right now, I can tell you that, it's shocking how absolutely incompetent, damn near everyone is now. Seriously, search here on UA-cam for "GenZ Can't Tell Time", and then pick the video where the guy is asking people questions on the street with a similar title.... "Formal Education" doesn't mean a damn thing anymore....

      disagree not to be argumentative. You watch the episode he worked so hard to make a ladder to clean his chimney on his cabin. He spent hours making it because he said he had no other option to get a ladder while in the middle of nowhere. Litrally the next episode he had a 16ft Warner ladder he used to store his meat up on a cache. Im not saying he isnt interesting or smart. Just saying this show has a nartive and discovery makes the cast obide or they are gone. Discovery is known for this.

    Glenn’s life style was the best reason I would watch Life Below Zero . I am retired for many years now , and I loved the way he stoked his moose and be successful. He did one of the BEST shows ever on Joe Rogans Podast. If you have deep respect for Glenn now? Watch that interview and you’ll be blown away by how down to earth and incredibly intelligent he is. He also explains why he’s no longer on the show. Apparently, the producers simply stopped calling him. Not once ever bother to tell him they no longer wanted him back. Whoever the fool was at Discovery Channel who made that decision should have lost his job.

    Glen explained his division from Life Below Zero producers during his interview with Joe Rogan. The producers want artificially created drama around his encampment, while Glen prefered the reality of spending the day walking to a nearby mountain. These issues kept resurfacing until producers were disappointed they didn't get thier own way of scripted TV.

    • @antcap1519
      @antcap1519 10 місяців тому +2

      actually no, not sure how you pulled that out of his interview with Joe, Glenn literally said, and i quote, "they just wanted me to cut down trees all day and i wanted to go on adventures and explore things" but in the end the producers wanted to see more of what the first nations people were doing and were disinterested in a privileged white guy who was just trying to escape the responsibilities of life and avoid providing for his family.

    • @Ledzepnut
      @Ledzepnut 9 місяців тому

      @@antcap1519Is that what you really think? He has wanted to live off the land since he was a young boy, which carries way more responsibility than going to school. He learned how to fly an airplane, he learned how to survive in the wilderness. You think he's a privileged white male who has no responsibility? He's the opposite of that, he has way more responsibility than most other people, he has acquired a vast amount of knowledge and learned many more skills than most people will ever do or have. And to top that off, he's a very likable person, unlike a vast majority of people who make comments on UA-cam

      I read a comment years ago by someone who complained to be production staff on one of these shows. He said a lot of stuff gets filmed multiple times, or the person is willing to do something “fake” to make what the producers consider better, more dramatic tv. He said usually there will be one person who won’t play along as much or at all, and despite what the producers expect this person tends to become a fan favorite.

    It may have been just a rumor but it was alluded to, at the time he left, that the reason he was off the show 'Life Below Zero' is because he had been arrested for failure to pay his court ordered child support that was due his first wife. When he returned to living in the wild, the producers felt that his legal problems would not be good for the shows ratings, so decided against his further participation.
    If true, then I find it a shame because I was really amazed at the depth of his survival knowledge and skills and would have liked to see him continue on with the show.

    I really enjoyed when Glen was on life below zero now it’s kind of boring and good thing that the Hailstones are there and Ricko teaching his kids how to hunt

    I cringed every time the narrator said "nomadic lifestyle". Glenn lives a SUBSISTENCE lifestyle.

    I stop watching this show...when he burned down someone's hunting cabin and stole the woodstove...he even took all their cut and split wood and loaded it in on the floor... cant imagine those poor hunters lugging all their gear that deep into the woods only to find it burned down by this jerk..

      Asked to remove the abandoned cabin by the Alaskan government and allowed to take what he wanted.
