Remember playing this for hours with only that barest idea of what I was doing... CRASH magazine had a map.... Never got to play the sequel which looked quite impressive.
This bored the HELL out of me back in the day, loaded it up via a C90 mates tape, walked around SLOWLY for what seemed forever,...probably 30mins, reset my zx and never played this game again.
Unfortunately without the manual - and the map that came with legitimate licensed copies of the game - you wouldn’t have had a clue what was happening. Luckily a magazine that my brother routinely bought at the time printed a map in one issue, which made up for the fact that the compilation version that he had lacked it.
@2:25 -- this graphic glitch appears, then you run this game in 128 K mode! If you load it in 48 K mode -- everything is OK. Hopefully, this does not affect gameplay -- only screen corruption. "Dun darach" and "Marsport" suffering from the same problem.
Hopefully my explanation clarified how the compass worked, with the arrow pointing which direction the *camera* was pointing, rather than which way Cuchulainn was facing.

I loved this game, some tricky puzzles in it, and in Dun Darach
_Dun Darach_ was actually considered to be a prequel to _Tír Na Nòg_ even though it came out *after* the latter.
Yes, I read that. I owned DD before this one anyway, they still didn't make sense for years lol

Didn't have a clue what to do when I play this years ago.he walk so slow
I was exactly the same. Had it, played it and didn't know what the f*ck was going on. I mean, I was about six years old, but still...
Fair play. I could never figure these games out its the compass. I'm not clever enough!
