What I also love about this ship is the amount of symbolism that shows just how important they are for each other: 1) Levi having a black horse while Erwin having a white horse representing the yin and yang. 2) The yin and yang also represent their personalities in general; Levi being the introverted and loyal one (yin) while Erwin being the extroverted and goal-oriented one (yang). 3) The yin side is meant to represent femininity, and the yang side is meant to represent masculinity, which is really symbolic considering how Levi lost his mother, while Erwin lost his father. 4) The wings of freedom also kind of represent Erwin and Levi; the dark blue wing represents strength (Levi) and the white wing represents wisdom (Erwin). 3) The red/blue character dynamic in ACWNR (which is also seen in other works such as The Legend of Korra [Korra and Asami] and Death Note [L and Light])! (For those of you who don't know, it's basically an audio fanfiction, with lots of explicit, in character, sexual stuff in it). ALSO, HAVE YOU SEEN THE WAY ERWIN LOOKS AT LEVI? In the official fanart with the two of them, Erwin is often looking at Levi with this soft affectionate smile on his face (let's not forget the well known magazine fanart of them that was purposely designed so that the crease in the middle was between Erwin's raised hand and Levi's face so it looks like he was caressing his cheek). When Levi is thinking of the man he can save (also when he is imaging Erwin's speaking to him and thanking him for letting him go), an image of Erwin appears and he has this incredibly soft smile and glowy appearance that puts the funeral scene with Marco and Jean to shame. Erwin never smiles like that, especially later in the manga when his guilt is plaguing him

I´m someone who almost never ships guys because usually i just see them as friends. But something about Eruri is different. I actually feel like this ship could be real because of all the evidence out there. All these scenes, official arts and things Isayama has said. I just can´t ignore the fact that this is the most realistic ship with Levi. Before i always used to ship Levi and Petra because it made the most sense to me, but after realizing how close Erwin and Levi actually are, i can´t look at Rivetra the same way again. Levi and Petra were close but there was never such trust and closeness like Levi and Erwin have and compared to Eruri there´s so much less evidence.

Liza Mungaray it's in the end of season 1 (I cannot remember what chapter that is in the manga). When the survey corps are summoned to the capital, in the manga Erwin is wearing a nice outfit (black pants and a white button up) but his uniform jacket on top. And Levi is dressed in a suit with a suit jacket that is significantly oversized. When Isayama was asked about it, he did confirm that the jacket was not his but a was 'taken at the last minute from someone close to him'. And he is shown wearing the same jacket at the beginning of season 2 (practically clinging to it the whole time). Unfortunately it is less obvious in the anime than the manga.

The only ship with Levi that I love honestly. Any other ship with him I just can’t appeal myself to, not even levihan. Most started shipping them all because of the forest scene, but Levi’s first thought was to fulfill Erwin’s promise is what most forget. Honestly, I used to be an Ereri shipper, but the more thought I gave to it, the more I realized it didn't make much sense. I know the defense for their age difference is that Eren eventually turns 19, but, like, still...that's a pretty significant age gap. If this were a 35-ish-something male character shipped with a 15-year-old female character, I guarantee you a lot less people would ship it. And for the ones that would, they'd be considered creepy, and justly so. So nah, I like Levi and Eren's interactions from a comedic/character development standpoint. But nowadays, that's about it. The ship between Levi and Erwin makes 100% more sense, and it has more appeal too - chemistry, mutual hotness, loyalty to one another. The only problem is that Erwin is dead. So yeah...For such a shippable character, Levi sadly doesn't have many options.

Well, when levi appeared, he wore the jacket, but only slung over the shoulders. He did not push his arms through the sleeves. That would be kind of odd if it were his own jacket. In an interview, isayama mentioned when asked about the jacket that he most likely grabbed it because it was closest to him. The jacket is in a larger size and it is the standard veterans jacket, which means it belongs to one of the vets. And which veteran is taller than him and is the closest to Levi? Erwin.

Not all, but many Ereri shippers I've met were very rude and abrasive. I've seen them give "proof" that Ereri is canon, but I highly doubt Levi would honestly go for a 15 year old boy. Ew... Only Erwin. Didn't he and Erwin see Bertholdt's explosion from up on the wall? So Levi knew that Hange and her squad were also affected by the explosion. He knew Hange could potentially be fatally injured too. He could've thought about saving Hange too. But he didn't. He just thought of Erwin. I feel like this one instance is enough to vouch for EruRi over LeviHan.

What I also love about this ship is the amount of symbolism that shows just how important they are for each other:
1) Levi having a black horse while Erwin having a white horse representing the yin and yang.
2) The yin and yang also represent their personalities in general; Levi being the introverted and loyal one (yin) while Erwin being the extroverted and goal-oriented one (yang).
3) The yin side is meant to represent femininity, and the yang side is meant to represent masculinity, which is really symbolic considering how Levi lost his mother, while Erwin lost his father.
4) The wings of freedom also kind of represent Erwin and Levi; the dark blue wing represents strength (Levi) and the white wing represents wisdom (Erwin).
3) The red/blue character dynamic in ACWNR (which is also seen in other works such as The Legend of Korra [Korra and Asami] and Death Note [L and Light])! Red is meant to represent a more wild and emotion-driven personality like Levi, while a level-headed and calm person like Erwin is represented by Blue.

I´m someone who almost never ships guys because usually i just see them as friends. But something about Eruri is different. I actually feel like this ship could be real because of all the evidence out there. All these scenes, official arts and things Isayama has said. I just can´t ignore the fact that this is the most realistic ship with Levi.
Before i always used to ship Levi and Petra because it made the most sense to me, but after realizing how close Erwin and Levi actually are, i can´t look at Rivetra the same way again. Levi and Petra were close but there was never such trust and closeness like Levi and Erwin have and compared to Eruri there´s so much less evidence.

What?? When did Erwin give his jacket to Levi?
Liza Mungaray it's in the end of season 1 (I cannot remember what chapter that is in the manga). When the survey corps are summoned to the capital, in the manga Erwin is wearing a nice outfit (black pants and a white button up) but his uniform jacket on top. And Levi is dressed in a suit with a suit jacket that is significantly oversized. When Isayama was asked about it, he did confirm that the jacket was not his but a was 'taken at the last minute from someone close to him'. And he is shown wearing the same jacket at the beginning of season 2 (practically clinging to it the whole time). Unfortunately it is less obvious in the anime than the manga.
The video also forgets that Levi and Erwin eat together face to face after each expedition ^^
Why people don´t ship this instead? I mean, i don´t really ship them romantically but it makes so much more sense than Ereri.

The only ship with Levi that I love honestly. Any other ship with him I just can’t appeal myself to, not even levihan. Most started shipping them all because of the forest scene, but Levi’s first thought was to fulfill Erwin’s promise is what most forget. If Levi/Erwin were the opposite gender a lot wouldn’t be saying their relationship was a basic friendship while hyping up levihan over one moment

Honestly, I used to be an Ereri shipper, but the more thought I gave to it, the more I realized it didn't make much sense. I know the defense for their age difference is that Eren eventually turns 19, but, like, still...that's a pretty significant age gap. If this were a 35-ish-something male character shipped with a 15-year-old female character, I guarantee you a lot less people would ship it. And for the ones that would, they'd be considered creepy, and justly so. So nah, I like Levi and Eren's interactions from a comedic/character development standpoint. But nowadays, that's about it.
The ship between Levi and Erwin makes 100% more sense, and it has more appeal too - chemistry, mutual hotness, loyalty to one another. The only problem is that Erwin is dead. So yeah...For such a shippable character, Levi sadly doesn't have many options.

You may be asking " how do you know it's erwins?" Well, when levi appeared, he wore the jacket, but only slung over the shoulders. He did not push his arms through the sleeves. That would be kind of odd if it were his own jacket.
In an interview, isayama mentioned when asked about the jacket that he most likely grabbed it because it was closest to him.
The jacket is in a larger size and it is the standard veterans jacket, which means it belongs to one of the vets. And which veteran is taller than him and is the closest to Levi? Erwin.

Also, I am just going to speak on behalf of the fandom, but I have never encounter any Eruri fans who thought Levi thinks of Eren as a monster. No one. Almost all Eruri fans understood why Eren needs to be hit, so he can join the SC without being killed. The context wasn't that hard to understand. Almost everyone knows it's an act.
Eren is nothing but a job to Levi. It wasn't just Levi who apologized to Eren, it was also Erwin and Hanji who also expressed their gratitude for Eren because he put up with Levi's violence. Plus, it was Erwin's plan to use that commotion to get Eren under their hands to begin with, and Levi follows that.

Not all, but many Ereri shippers I've met were very rude and abrasive. I've seen them give "proof" that Ereri is canon, but I highly doubt Levi would honestly go for a 15 year old boy. Ew... (and yes, I know in Japan the legal age is 14 or 15, but I grew up in the US and that difference is still really hard for me to accept) I've seen much more evidence to support Eruri in the manga and show, even LeviHan, than anything else. And even if LeviHan becomes official canon, Levi's heart will always belong to Erwin and I think even Hanji knows this. (forgive me if I seem like I'm rambling, I'm tired 😅) Great video!

1) Hashime Isayama confirmed that Levi feels an affectionate love towards Erwin. In japanese, there are different words for differents types of love, and Isayama used the one that's used to express romantic feelings (the word is Aisuru - 愛). Eruri is canon, deal with it.
2) Eren Jeager is 15 at the start of the anime/manga, and 19 at the end, Levi Ackerman is 35 at the start and 40 at the end. Are you seriously trying to tell me that Levi would fall for a 15 years old? Are you saying he's a pedophile and SUPPORTING IT?
