Just something I learned is the thermostat on the wall (the one you and I have…the Dometic)…to change temps etc “barely touch” the arrows and don’t “press on” the arrows and it will last A LOT longer…the thing really is not made to be pressed…if you barely touch it with our finger pad it will change…I had to replace 2 of them to finally have someone tell me about that and since then I have had NO problems with it. *also nice video on the replacement of the sail switch*
Thank you for your informative video. I was skeptical on how to fix our furnace since I'm not very handy when it comes to repairs but after watching your video I'm feeling better on fixing our furnace. Thank you for giving me a great how to video.
Good sir: Owner of a 2017 Eagle HT28.5 RSTS (fiver) here. I have seen multiple discussions over the years about the elusive “sail switch” failure and replacement. I have NEVER seen a more complete and visually appealing video of how it’s done. You spared us the cutesy melodramas many videographers like to add to their vids and gave us the straight story. Replacing a sail switch will never be quite the mystery to me that it once was. Thank you very much and Safe and Happy Trails to you and yours!
Looks identical to the one in my Sunset Trail camper. There was a big dirt dobbers nest in the exhaust I had to clean out. So I’m not sure if it was that OR the sail switch. But I had to pull the furnace like you and the sail switch was right there so ?🤷♂️ It’s heating like it did before now. Got 2 from Amazon for $20.
Awesome video sir, I have a 2019 Jayco Eagle 321rsts and I agree Jayco could have install these furnaces where you can get to them, our is in the storage compartment and I have to take out all of the wall just to get to it. I order the Sail Switch, Over Temp Switch and a Run Delay Relay Fan/ Blower Switch to be install, I probably can get away with just installing the Sail Switch, but I don't want to go back in there after I put it back together.
So helpful and all the thoughts going through my head about Jayco’s mess/accessibility you vocalized lol!! I just had to unclog ours and it works great again. I also cut the duct so it wasn’t bending in 10 directions because it was overheating and limit switch kept cutting the heat. I’m sure all the debris left inside when it was built didn’t help the intake either.
I have same dometic furnace on my 2yr old keyston outback. Those wires go into the furnace are very tight compare to yours. How do I disconnect wires from the furnace before I pull it out?
thank you for this! we just bought a jayco jay feather and would not have known our furnace was installed this way if not for your video. appreciate you!
Thx for this great video. I have almost the same setup in my Starcraft and had the same failure this weekend and need to replace my sail switch. Now I’m confident I can do it.
Great video on the furnace ! Thanks. Why do you suppose the switch went bad , failed as opposed to dirty, bent, obstructed ? Very well done instructions
thank you! got my sail switch out (pain in the rear to get the furnace out) and it was clogged with 'dirt' . . . ready to put it back in and fire it up!

This video was extremely helpful. Thank you very much for sharing with us.
Why did the fuse box say it needs a 15 fuse but a 20 was there instead?
