That was really good Simon. I have never done much boat and trout, and when I did I asked to be taken ashore. But I recently got to know a bloke called Justin Allen. Amazing fisher man. I have fished with some really good fishermen over the years, but Justin is something else. Now he does a good bit of boat stuff. So hey, I might do boat. That was good Simon, Keep it going mate. Shaun.
Decent vid mate , is there a reason your closer to the bank on different areas/bays or is just the drift of the boat . I’ve fished a few reservoirs but they tend to be quite tight in on the ones I’ve fished , I’m thinking of trying Rutland / grafham soon was wondering if it works better or is it like random ,any thoughts on this
Thanks Paul, I was drawn to the shallow area near the Willow as I had had some success there previously. Earlier on the day I shot this video I tried several drifts in much deeper water in quite a few of the bays and off the points and other than the first fish I caught I didn't have any other action at all for over 3 hours. I had heard bank anglers had been having success so thought why not try shallow. On the day I had easily 90% plus of the takes and follows in 4 ft of water or less. The wind was blowing from the North west so pushed me parallel to the shore meaning I could do this drift in the shallow water, if it was blowing any other way it wouldn't have worked. I cant comment on Rutland as I only fished it once 15 years ago, but I know at Grafham the trout are beginning to target shrimp and I have always fished them in shallow water myself. Good luck when you get out there next 👍
