I’m 50 (next)… this song took me right back to the 80’s.. the golden era 🙌🏽.. all the late 70’s, 80’s funk music/movies/fashion flashed back through my brain (ESPECIALLY including a roller skating rinks 😂). I was waiting for him to release an album. To be honest, this is the vey First BTS album I’ve physically purchased. BTW, I’m fairly new to BTS and I love everything about them, their music, their company/staff and their message. Love the song/album and your reaction. Yes, we're all very thirsty after that. This song is a STATEMENT. This is the most unique and perfectly complete artistic performance. I was left speechless just staring. I'm definitely reminded of epic MJ creations like Thriller and Remember the Time where we all incredulously watched it over and over again!!! This video was an homage to Baz Luhrmann's 1996 film adaptation of Romeo and Juliet confirmed by the video director on her Instagram. The fight scenes happens in the movie too, it's the warring families of the 2 lovers. The stage on which JK sings is very similar to the coastal stage on the movie. The meaning of the song's lyrics also means an eternal love that will be with you no matter what. Yes their are obvious comparisions to MJ, JK's voice, his dance moves are reflective of Michael. I’m a baby boomer and yes, I’m six feet under! I have loved Jungkook for some time now, but this MV was actually an emotional experience! It has taken my breath away. The production was fabulous. JK looked amazing, his voice was unbelievable, and his dancing was breathtaking. The music and lyrics were incredible. This is definitely one of the best MV performances I have ever seen.Jungkook has defended the content of his other singles by saying he is a “grown man”. Honestly, even though I liked the other songs, I found the lyrics to be adolescent “in your face” unsophisticated sexuality. These lyrics, however, are sensual, passionate and meaningful. This is how a MAN expresses himself! Oh Jungkook has grown up!

I had so much to say about it, but didn't want to spoil it for you guys. Right off the back, I felt the retro-80s vibe, along with MJ's style, moves and essence. You was absolutely spot on when you said, "JK is MJ reincarnated!" May he continue to "Rest in Paradise", but I would've love to see MJ & JK collaborate on a song or two. That would've been EPIC! A definite song of the Century!!! Standing Next to You is definitely one of my favorite songs on the album, right along with 'Hate You'. 'Hate You' is sad, but his vocals are so melodic. It puts you in a trance filled with emotions. JK knew exactly what he was doing and feeling when he named his solo album, GOLDEN! The confidence level this man has portayed on these tracks is astonishing.....not to mention his whole album is in English! SOOOOOOOOO proud of Jung Kook!
