Thank you Bharath and team. Few points I like to point out. 1. Increasing lot size wouldn't matter much because once retailers are addicted they will beg, borrow or steal for it. 2. Increasing tax to 30% will highly affect those who understand f&o but not retailers who are just betting, on the flip side it will increase their losses. We have to see how big institution are going to be restricted from manipulating the f&O

Sir I have a doubt 2 years ago I bought 200 shares of Tata motors @ 417. Now it is near 1030 rs. If I book profit now, I have to pay LTCG tax. I have also booked long term profit of some other stocks as well. Now if I transfer this tata motors share to my wife's demat account and she sells those will she have to pay LTCG or STCG tax?

If contract size increases , suppose today nifty lot size is 25 with the contract size around 7 lakh then if sebi increases contract size in multiples of 2 or 3 x compares to today's size then new value should be around 21 lakh but lot size remains unchanged then new lot is 21lakh ÷24500 = around 85lots in 1 contract .. thats I am saying if contract value increases then margin increased but also As well as lot size increased, so how it possible this lot size remains unchanged
Bharat, u can keep your justification to u. How will a retail investor hedge if lots are very large. Further, very low volumes in f &o will promote market manipulation. Ultra rich and fii will continue with their party.

From retail point this proposal is just to stop retail from making money rather than caring about retail. If SEBI really cares about retailers they should check the technical glitches that's happening frequently. They can raise the tax for any HTF trader who is having any link to a foreign country OR they can remove daily expiry OR implement rule that if any trader is trading above certain lots would be considered for a different level of taxation OR block HTF traders for the whole day and next 2-3 days from executing if they are executing either buy or sell above certain lot size OR a rule like if identified as HFT trader then they have to execute nearly same value of trades in both cash and Options. But these all require new process to be implemented which is hectic so simply to avoid new process as checkpoint they are putting the burden on retailers.

Correct 95% of the retail traders are in loss specially in f&o.

Mostly option buyers are loosing. So I think buying cost of option should increase almost 50 pecent cost is selling...

Koi baat nehi, share market crush ho jaayega aur saare traders crypto, forex, cfd mein chala jaayega.
If all the weekly expiry will close then maximum chance of speculation will also reduce automatically.

Put buying is not a perfect hedging sir, it may made you loss most probably, call sell is hedging.

Smaller interests can always be sacrificed for the sake of larger interests. Banning the fno is in larger interest.
From retail point this proposal is just to stop retail from making money rather than caring about retail. If SEBI really cares about retailers they should check the technical glitches that's happening frequently. They can raise the tax for any HTF trader who is having any link to a foreign country OR they can remove daily expiry OR implement rule that if any trader is trading above certain lots would be considered for a different level of taxation OR block HTF traders for the whole day and next 2-3 days from executing if they are executing either buy or sell above certain lot size OR a rule like if identified as HFT trader then they have to execute nearly same value of trades in both cash and Options.
But these all require new process to be implemented which is hectic so simply to avoid new process as checkpoint they are putting the burden on retailers.
