@@JQ3B94 Was gonna say because they all come from the piano originally. Can only guess, but from everything I've seen and heard from him in interviews and live streams, the piano is where his ideas come alive
Okay, I know it’s been a while since this cover came out but I wanted to share a real story that happened quite a bit ago relating to this song because I feel this comment section might enjoy this. During this quarantine, my mother felt quite miserable as she felt like she was stuck in a loop of chores and worrying for meals, not being able to hang out with friends and generally just really sad. When I first heard Mother, I felt very awkward because I felt like I could never relate to this song and I didn’t have the most connected relationship with my mother during that time. It was only until the fanmade music video for Mother was made that I got the message and realized just how important the song was. I was legitimately in tears when I watched that video. By that time, I had already made her a sappy video for mother’s day using a Cavetown song. But after watching that video, I had decided it was time to show her Porter’s song. I’ve actively always skipped the song when she’s around until that day. She said she liked Blossom when we listened to the album during a trip to my piano lessons so I came up with a plan for a video. On June 19th, her birthday, she said multiple times before that she didn’t want to do anything. My father had called her family to bring her food and surprise her at our house. In addition, I brought in the TV to the room they were all in and played a video of the fanmade Mother MV, a special thank you message afterwards, and finally Blossom to show my true love for her. It was a heartfelt moment where everyone in the room actually cried, and me and my mother had a loving embrace after the video was done. It’s a cherished memory relating to Mother that I will always keep. The song now brings tears to my eyes and this piano cover of it always brings me back to that moment in time. Thank you for covering this, Jenny 💙
Yes crying time again, the chorus hits like a truck full of emotion. Cant wait to hear your cover Edit: ehehe the shelter sneak, and 1:56-2:00 sounded so good but it hurts my fingers just by looking. Loved the cover (as always) and the sweet time tease at the end ^^
I swear it's sorcery how you get the notes to feel fuller than a piano should sound. I feel it's such a cliché thing to say "You never cease to amaze me". I feel the phrase doesn't do justice, because somehow it's like rediscovering something that can only be discovered once - like your fav pastry shop. You can always go back and it'll be as good as it was the first time you tried it, but the joy of discovering it only happened once. Maybe it's because, I'm so in love with Nurture and equally amazed at how genuine/accurate your covers/renditions are (on a 'feel'-wise). Each cover has been a joyride! Also, (I think) I my found my fav insertion of Shelter. How you melded the lead notes with the melody of Mother... *chef's kiss*. Also-also, I can already see the above statement coming true, because the next cover is one of my fav.
As far as Nurture covers go, nobody can top this. No idea how you managed to capture the emotion behind the song so well, and the fullness of the sound too...
I really like your Porter Robinson covers Keudae! I feel like you get really well the spirit of each track while adding some chords and your color! I througly enjoy!
beautiful! quite probably my favorite song on the album! absolutely love the bridge, so much emotion, and i’m sad you didn’t include that part in your cover but i understand that it probably wouldn’t really have the same effect when played on a piano
The main reason I didn't include it was because it was so not-catchy to my ear I couldn't memorize it for some reason, it was so frustrating! And "shelter" fit well enough, because mothers give shelter too and I hope it didn't make you too sad 😭💛
Hey my dear Keudae, again you blast me with your unique percussive style of playing, never saw this before. So much groove, can't stop stumping my feet to the rhythm. Love it🎶🎵🎶
Sorry I missed the premiere. I loved this song! I always wondered about the regular beep in the background of the original track, it sounds like a heartbeat monitor to me.
Mini mashup timestamps 💙
2:26-2:45 Shelter
3:01-3:04 Get Your Wish
3:05-3:07 Look at the Sky
3:48-3:50 Something Comforting
I LOVE THESE LEITMOTIFS.
If this doesn't play at my wedding, I'm not coming🕊💙
hahaha
I felt your frustration over Porter not explaining dullscythe during his VR stream.
huh? I haven’t watched that yet lol
All I have to say is that YOU'RE the reason why I'm learning how to play the piano!
REALLY ;_;
Porter's songs all translate to piano so unbelievably well, all come across so beautiful to the ear, and you capture that so well each time Jenny ❤❤❤
It's because he writes them on his piano apparently
@@JQ3B94 Was gonna say because they all come from the piano originally. Can only guess, but from everything I've seen and heard from him in interviews and live streams, the piano is where his ideas come alive
Thats because he puts effort into composing instead of just throwing samples together and calling himself a producer
@niccster1061 porter has said in the past that he does use samples heavily, like how he used the shaker loop in the Get Your Wish drum loop
It's getting to the point where I actually enjoy your covers more than the actual songs
Agreed
I like this series a lot, im very curious how you are going to cover dullscythe haha
Hahaha me too waiting eagerly
I am so hopeful that she will!!
Hoped you checked out the newest video
Yeah there's something special for you now
I like how the left hand goes like Happy, Sad, Optomistic, Depression
Its so fun trying to find the references in her covers
You know you've found a gem when there's not a single dislike.
Just give it a few days, someone will LOVE to be the first dislike *sigh*
But thank you 🥺 ♥️
@@keudae two weeks in, so far so good 😊
still no dislikes

I lost my mother this year, this song is very important to me. Beautifully done on the piano.
Your creatitivity with chord progressions, arpeggios, transitions, change of styles and athmospheres is absolutely out of this world!
this is the best one yet!
aw really!!? 🌸💛
@@keudae well its certainly my favorite XD
Coworkers won't leave me alone long enough to enjoy this fully, but I loved it. Shelter and Look at the Sky fit perfectly. You're amazing, Jenny. ❤️

Together with Shelter, pure delight 💕
Bravo, for that reference to Shelter
shelter is the most perfect song to reference in this cover, considering both make me want to cry and the story of the MV, lovely!

Thank you for the cover Keudae! It's amazing. Ok u added shelter towards the end i see u
so much shelter in this one omg
I just love you sm rn 😭
I actually like this more than the original song - the original sounds too pointy to me, whereas on piano it sounds so fluid. Well done.
yesss
beautiful 🥺
Thank youuuu ❤️
Absolutely beautiful work; you capture the soulful joy of Porter's music so effortlessly.
❤️❤️❤️
♥️♥️♥️
wow that's so great, the mashup of the end got me a big smile, it's so gooooooood.
Oh this is amazing... I just can't not comment, this is so beautiful, and references all around and woahhh I love it !!
beautiful arrangement! definitely not one of the easiest songs to translate to piano, but i think this was great
