1985 Yamaha FJ 1100 FOR SALE (SOLD)

For Sale is a nice condition 1985 Factory Red White Yamaha FJ 1100. This bike has just turned 20k miles and was in pretty nice shape to begine with but this is waht I felt it needed.
It didn't need much but this is what I had done to it, Both sprockets and chain were replaced, the chain is an RK O-ring chain and was $175 alone. The front tire is a Michelin pilot and has less than 20 miles on it, the rear is also a Michelin at 90%. I had all the valves adjusted and re-shimmed in May 2013. The carburetors were cleaned an re-synced at the same time, I also had the fork seals replaced and new oil installed. Also new Hi-temp front brake fluid. The fork seals are a common problem on earlier Yamaha FJ's and this one was no exception, Keep that in mind if you're looking at other FJ's besides this one,they all seem to go out around 10-12k and the replacement cost is over $300 bucks,The oil and filter were also changed less than 100 miles ago. Along with a new battery. The left rear muffler had a small dent in it,and it drove me crazy so I located a NOS OEM Yamaha one at a dealer in TX at the tune $275 and replaced it.
I had really set the bike up to do a long-distance trip with my father. I wanted it it to be 100% reliable. But then our plans changed and the trip was canceled. All mechanical things mentioned along with all updates are within the last hundred miles on the bike. I would not hesitate to ride this bike coast-to-coast besides being recently maintained,these are very comfortable bikes to ride long distance, and are also very passenger friendly. And cheap to insure at this pont.
There are only a few things about the bike I know that are not as they should be. The left mirror has some cloudiness in the lens, There is a very small crack in the lower chin spoiler see pic, there is a very small scuff in the right front corner of the seat,see pic,and the fuel gauge for some reason has recently quit working, however the low fuel warning light works fine.
I think you would have a hard time finding a nicer condition FJ1100 in excellent riding condition for half of what my reserve is. As I mentioned I think most of the fun for me was bringing it back to great condition. This will make someone a great bike.
