Interesting to watch the food being prepared, but in saying that, ive had budgies for lots of years, and they don't like vegetables of any sorts. Ive tried most veg.and boiled eggs etc. And none of my birds have ever been interested in eating any of the product ive given them. I kniw for their diets, these veg.products are ideal for them, but if they don't want to eat them. There's not too much you can do about it. And as far as a budgie's life span goes, one of my birds just passed away, having lived for 10 years, and was never i'll and until he passed on, he looked great, and well groomed. Just a thought in case some other budgie lovers, worry that their bird wont eat veg.etc.🦜🦜
Absolutely wonderful , but by geez you make work for yourself - boiled eggs for starters, just peel put in a small freezer bag and squish them with your fingers from outside the bag ( no mess , no cutter to wash LOL ) buy a frozen bag of the veg u want , defrost required amount the night before , squish it if you want , throw the egg in - your done LOL 40 years of keeping larger parrots I've never made that much work for myself and they all get fresh fruit & veg 365 days a year , not having a go , just a few suggestions ( thentake the Mrs out to dinner with all the time you save ) LOL have a nice day.
Thank you Malik Spinach, Sweet Potato, Carrots, Broccoli, (All raw and chopped) boiled Egg, Crushed egg shell, CeDe Eggfood, and I was adding some soy which was high in protein. I mix all of this with my regular seed mix which is Canary, White and Red Millet, Japanese Millet. I occasionally feed hulled oats and hulled sunflower seed as well as spray millet. I consider my seed mix a maintenance diet and the soft food mix is meant to supplement the vitamin. There is iron, calcium, vitamin A among other things in this mix. Thanks for your comments
Sweet potato, broccoli, carrots, spinach, boiled eggs and dried egg food, ground egg shell, germinated wheat, and mung beans, then I add my seed mix which consists of Japanese millet, White Millet, Red Millet, Canary seed. I may have added soy, but don't do that any more. sometimes I add dried mealworms.
Thats a good question Mkhasan12, as I breed they are fed the softfood as chicks. If you find something they like and add it to the mix of softfood, some will go for it and possibly attract the others to try it. I always mix my regular seed in with the softfood so while they go for that they might try something they ordinarily would not eat.
+all about bird ! I'm not familiar with breeding the Indian Ringneck, but eggs should be safe to feed. The most important thing to remember is that you don't want the egg to go bad. Just feed enough soft food that your birds will eat in an hour or two. Otherwise there is a chance it may go bad...
hi yes u can i do that also ! but not every day onlytwo or once in a week cuz it's not like light food but also good for them :) u can feed them many things like carrots mango apples cucumber leaves strawberries brown rice asta watermelon , melon , kiwi etc no garlic no onins no avocado no sweets no salt
a bit of egg is good for all birds or just about most pets but not every day in my opinion 2 to 3x per week with shell and raw eggs is good as long as it doesnt over moisten the food. when adding the othe ringredients it sjould be at just the right consistantsy, moist but not wet
+Pramod g Feeding a healthy died is as important as a clean bird room. It prevents disease, improves fertility and aids in breeding better stock. The goal of breeding for me, is to improve the quality of my birds, and to encourage others to do the same. This includes being observant, before you have problems.
do you give them this every day or for so many days a week I'm confused I have a canary and i give her 1 piece of veg every day variety and fruit 3 times a week and egg 1 a week and oats and pastas 1 a week too nuts I give her every day but I don't know much about lovebirds I need help
Hi Danielle I used to feed them this every day but backed off to 3 or 4 times a week and mostly during the breeding season. I'm not sure about the canary diet but I imagine its similar. I think your doing the right thing too...This video is pretty old and I'm still using these techniques but not every day. Best of luck in your breeding...soft food is so important.

I feed this diet 3 to 4 times a week, or every other day. When not in breeding I will slow it down, but may feed kale, or sweet potato from time to time. I feed baby carrots every morning through the wire on a clothes peg. This seems to work for me, but sometimes it is hard to get your birds to eat these things. Start by feeding the young and that will entice your other birds to eat.
OnePixelful Sweet potato like you see in the video. Washed and chopped. I also will feed it in my flights. I take a board, pound a nail through it and poke the sweet potato through the nail. Sweet potato raw is a good source of vitamin A
+BanBeautieness The advantage of the sweet potato is that it has vitamin A in it. I haven't researched the benefits of a normal potato but I'm sure its beneficial.
skin is very very bad for little birds. they get choked at times. my birdies eat the flesh of fruits like apples, chickoos n plums n leave d skin. they r very sensible.....

The sweet potatoes are fresh, but they are washed as the video shows and the peels are removed before chopping.
I'm also want to know about white powder
Ground egg shells to a powder...1st I microwave the shells to kill any bacteria, then crush the shells before grinding it in a food processor.
Can I feed this to my canaries?
you have not posted a discription of that video.

Its the egg shell ground up to powder...

Do you still want to know?
Yes, that is what I do...usually 2 weeks.

Sweet potatoes are high in vitamin A better served raw.
I need a list of all foods that were used to make this and how long can it last in the fridge? Please someone help answer. Thanks 🙏🏼
Usually, 2 weeks is the length of time I freeze it.
