- Ludwig van Beethoven (1770-1827) - Sonata for Violin and Piano No. 9 in A major, Op. 47 "Kreutzer" (1803)
00:25 I. Adagio sostenuto - Presto
14:48 II. Andante con variazioni
30:29 III. Presto
Leonidas Kavakos, violin
Enrico Pace, piano
I was wiped after listening to these two masters of their instruments. This composition proves Beethoven is the GOAT! Not enough superlatives for the sonata. Plus my very favorite violin/piano duo. Thank you. I love you both.
La cara de traste del pianista al finalizar el primer movimiento y ver a la gente aplaudir no tiene precio
Я под таким сильным впечатлением, что сегодня уже ничего больше слушать не буду! Словами не выразить, как хорошо сыграли!
For Beethoven a violin sonata was as important as an opera.
This is pure demonstration of how much pleasure and happiness it is to be a confirmed musician, able to play what you love. This passion and satisfaction in their eyes is just breath taking.
Соната - совершенство, инструменты звучат божественно, слышно, что выложились по полной программе, наслаждение невыразимое!
Bravo à tous les deux belle interpretation je ce suis fan de Leonidas et Pace très bon pianiste
I like the raw energy.
Grande interpretazione. Tecnica impeccabile....sturmisch❤
Maybe this should have been called "Sonata for violin and piano" since the piano shares equal weight with the violin. What a coherent synergy between the two instrument parts. Beethoven was a genius and these two are incredible masters of the highest variety.
MAGNIFIC INTERPRETATION !!!
Simply magnificent, it transcendents the virtuosity and get's down to the core of the genius of Beethoven's music.
Kavakos the best!!!❤❤❤
Amazing ❤ Thank You 💕

The face of the pianist at 3:11 hahah a bit hilarious what a speed!
바이올린 선율, 참으로 아름답고 감사합니다.
많이 힘드시겠지만, 조금만 더 버티세요.
다들 힘내십시오.
미스터 카바코스의 명연과 당신의 댓글에 감사합니다.
❤
Year of recording?
He is so good !
Very nice
Captivato !!
As captivating as monsieur cavakos
Bravo bravo excellent
I heard Vengerov play this last night and people also clapped after the first movement. I think this piece should be the exception to the rule, since there has never been written a piece that so arouses the audience, and gives so much joy when there is such complete synchrony as we see here.
Fyi historically speaking first movements were meant to be clapped after finishing.
Indeed. Back “in the day”
They might have even repeated a movement after such a fine performance. Conventions only go so far…

Did they play all of the sonatas in one show on this concert?
❤❤❤
Magnífica interpretación, con el brío que requiere esta obra maestra. Espero que Anne-Sophie y Lambert lo hayan visto y tomen nota...

Calidad
The camerawork sucks, but this performance was awesome.
Terrible camera work…too much close ups…😮
Were all here for the beautiful music so camera doesn’t matter
Yeah, you are right. The music though is great.
The camera DOES matter.
If camera's good, better. If not, who cares. In music sound is what does matter.
Well, after an expressionless and wonky beginning, It actually becomes palpable. What the heck does he think he's doing in not vibrating?
Non vibrato is a special effect in itself.
