Just found out God picked me to be a mommy , 5 weeks as of today. I'm beyond thankful for Jesus and for this little one. Can't wait to meet the one God created! A very close friend (my best friend, actually) is currently fighting brain cancer, and is scheduled to go into surgery early next week to remove a second tumor found not too long ago. The surgery however has a high risk of impairing her once it's finished, so I'm trying to pray and trust God that His will, whatever it is, will be done in her situation. I'm just tired or praying that she'd be healed physically. More than anything I'm longing for her to be healed spiritually and finally come to know Christ as her savior, father, friend, everything that He is. In the end that's really all that matters to me right now. More than anything I'd love it if she's be healed and able to live a long and fruitful life, but if she lives and never knows Jesus, then what's even the point? I just want her to be saved so bad. I can't stand the thought of maybe loosing her forever. Edit: Hey. So I came across my comment again a while ago, but I wasn't sure if I should leave an update or not. Finally I figured I would, in case anyone who read this felt it their hearts to say a prayer (in which case I thank you so much from the bottom of my heart), and maybe wanted some closure. On April 3, 2020, at around 8:01pm, my friend passed away at home amongst family. It wasn't anything dramatic, but was unexpectedly sudden. Her parents, who were taking care of her at home all this time, noticed she wasn't responding much, and some of the monitors that they had were showing some minor decline (I honestly don't know any details, I'm trying to remember this since I'm updating a whole year later, and plus I wasn't there when it happened), but they weren't very concerned, until she suddenly stopped breathing. Nothing dramatic, no doctors running around or anything like I was expecting to happen during the last days. God just gently called her home, and then my family got the call from her parents not long after. Her family was heartbroken, naturally (especially her father, they were very, very close), and everyone else around them, but I'm still a bit confused personally, because I felt almost nothing when I heard the news, and even when we went to her house to say goodbye and be with the family. Sure, I cried when I was with others who were crying (it's what I tend to do, lol), but I wasn't sad, or angry, or hurt. Maybe a little hollow, but I got back to normal life almost soon as we got home. I don't think I even had a mourning period of any kind in the days and months following. I didn't even cry at her funeral. I know everyone mourns differently, but she was my best friend. You'd think I'd have more of a reaction or something, right? I wasn't actively comforting myself either; no reminding myself that she was with God now and free of pain (and having a whole heck of an easier time than we are down here, that's for hecking sure, lol x'D She got out in the nick of time). I feel like I didn't need to move on or anything. There was no transition, no coping, no sifting through emotions...nothing like I was expecting. I'm still not sure what to make of that. I am happy to announce, however, that prayers were answered in terms of her relationship with the Lord. I realized I wasn't very clear in the first comment about where she stood with Him (I made her sound like a complete atheist there), so allow me to correct myself here: my friend was born and raised Christian, but something happened to her that made her doubt God and a lot of what she was taught (it was a bad experience at Christian youth camp, actually. I'm still working out how I feel about that part. There's a bit of anger I don't think I've quite worked through yet). So she drifted from the faith and sort of settled into this sort of agnostic period where she, to roughly quote her, "didn't really know if God existed, and didn't really care." There were other things that went on in between the years before the cancer, but I don't think it's my place to talk about them, so moving on. What *is* important is that probably in her last month, she confessed and returned to her relationship with Jesus. Her mind was sort of fading by then, so it's hard to say how close she drew near Him during that time, but we all know He drew near to her, 100% The atmosphere in that house changed significantly for the better after that, and knowing how absolute the blood of Jesus is on every soul's life, I know I'll see her again one day, healed, whole, and smiling. Wow, I did NOT mean for this to get so long and in depth, sorry ,XD The short of this is that my prayer for her to return to Christ before she passed over her full recovery was answered, and I'm so, so grateful to anyone who might have read my first comment and took the time to pray. Thank you so, so much, and I thank the Lord for His faithfulness to my friend and her family. He is truly beyond anything we could ever hope to deserve (if we even deserve anything to begin with). Please pray for all KLS’ers and their families as well!! Pray for those with depression, pray for release from unhealthy thoughts, pray for release for those fighting addictions... pray for your neighbours for the angry man down the street. Pray for your mother and father. Just pray.
