I think Ahmpy should have tried to fix the issues, after the first disconnect he went straight back in. He wasn't in too much of a hurry, as he was 5 levels ahead of the next highest level.
What I've heard is that he wasn't as concerned with being the server first as much as he wanted to beat the all time record for a speed run. Maybe he didn't think his time was good?

Battlenet/blizzard was not to blame for Ahmps death, his computer had issue and DC`d just before his death... he should have turned off the comp and gone back 15-30 mins later..

I have had the kind of crash Ahmpy had a number of times. It usually occurs when I have had my PC online for weeks without shutting it down or restarting it. I'm not really technically versed, but it feels like certain system resources are getting eaten up that only refresh or restock on an actual restart. Everything becomes slower and laggy, not to mention unstable after several weeks of no actual system shutdown.

The first disconnect was terrifying but he lived at that point you should wait a couple of minutes to see if it happens again rather than going all in on another pull. I remember I was playing the other day and I kept getting massive lag and I had to survive a wave of harpies just spawning on top of each other nonstop. If I was not over leveled in that area I would have been dead. Immediately after I chilled at the nearest inn and waited for the server to stop lagging before going out again.

These server deaths and such will kill hardcore. No one wants to waste time when they die from something out of their control. Blizzard should really have a system to resurrect such meaningless deaths.
this will be impossible to do because once you implement a system where you can restore chars, it will almost certainly be abused, and not in a small scale.

In my experience, WoW is the only modern game that still disconnects people with perfectly fine internet. I've played plenty of other MMOs and online games and haven't once seen a disconnect screen. It's just an issue they never felt like fixing. They even go the extra mile and throw DCs at people when there is no connection issue. You stepped on this rock in a weird way? Get booted to the login menu, champ.

Great Deadmines clip at the end… actually a pretty stacked group experience-wise for OF which is why they lived. Some nice coms and timely calls (totem drop) by the priest as well 😊

While i understand it would be abused by everyone, I really think a dc/crash/etc should immediately take your character out of the game. I know the alt-f4 enjoyers would just use it whenever there is danger, but I just don't think it's enjoyable to see all these dc or crash deaths. It's the primary reason I won't play hardcore because there are dc and crash things out of my control that can wipe out dozens or hundreds of hours of progress.
Steelmage and Ziz may be "used to the pain" of losing a character, but not due to crap servers / support. I understand WoW was never designed to played as a hardcore game, the devs have said as much, but at least in POE if you're character goes offline, it's protected from death. This allows players to use a logout script to protect themselves from things they can't do after the fact, but that's an easy price to pay to protect players from things completely beyond their control.
5:01 The chance to die to DC in PoE is like 50 times less than in WoW. Over half the racers died to DC on fresh classic already, meanwhile in PoE races like 2% of ppl die to DC. Almost all deaths in PoE HC are legit misplays.
@PBurn88 im playing nightelf on a private vanilla server and there are so many good 2h weapons from quests in ashenvale and dark coast. I recommend it for people who like 2h. Especially lvl30 in ashenvale there is a 2h sword that goes crazy, with like 12 strength or something from a relatively easy quest. I solod at lvl 32
So i was big into Hardcore until i had dc death at 60. It's just baffeling that they dont introduce some kind of recovery agent for dc deaths (will have its flaws ofc in beginning but better than just ppl dc dyin at 60)

DC boss is hardest boss. about 99% of my deaths were DC. If you aren't grinding, you can take steps, but if you are 24 hour record grinding, you'd never "win" the race playing it safe. You just have to hope for good internet or move to a location where you can get the best connection, hopefully with redundancies also. Lol, I remember one time me and a friend got DCed in Feralas, but we stuck to mostly green mobs so we lived as our autoattacks finished off what we were fighting.

Ahmpy death was all his fault. The client was crashing and he just logged back in and aoe pulls. No bug checking for an addon spam erroring. No checking his install or OS integrity. Running multiple clients at once.

I dont know about you guys, but I am enjoying wow classic fresh normal server. I also started a class which I usually not play, a lock, and it is very much fun. I am glad I am not trying hardcore, I would be starting my 4th char.

In BFD there's also a way to cause the mobs to evade/reset by jumping on that Super Mario-like maze over the water.

ALL THESE "ELITE" PLAYERS IN ONLY FANGS....YET THEY ALL RUN AND TURN THEIR BACK TO MOBS LIKE NOOBS....LOL.
I dont know about you guys, but I am enjoying wow classic fresh normal server. I also started a class which I usually not play, a lock, and it is very much fun. I am glad I am not trying hardcore, I would be starting my 4th char.
I mean when you have that many instances of wow open and Bnet clients what do you expect? You're going to get DCd...
