I laughed so hard at the end. Perfect poetry! Thank you for this delightfully tender Darcy and imaginative Elizabeth. This is a great story, Jennifer. Thanks for sharing.
Another delightful pride and Prejudice reimagining. Thank you so much for sharing - and for learning about and creating the poetry at the end! The verses were well done and a lovely end for the story. (Poetry IS difficult to write!) This one really made sense to me, too. Darcy as a poet, reclusive, guarded, and socially awkward? Perfect. I appreciate having a go-to author to listen to and be assured of very good, clean storytelling. Thanks again!
Jennifer, you did a beautiful job on the poetry. I have a hate/love relationship with poetry. I've read plenty that I like very much, saving clipping from the newspaper or saving quotes to my computer somewhere. But lots of poetry I just 'don't get,' or I find it depressing. When I first read this story I wasn't sure I'd like it (embarrassing confession, I actually couldn't finish it.) But listening to the story was different somehow, and I truly enjoyed the story in this format. I think it's true that sometimes you have to be 'ready' for a book for you to connect to it favorably. What a unique Wickham angle. What a unique premise. Good work here, Jennifer!
Thank you so much, Michelle! I’m so glad you were able to enjoy the story this time around in audio. Like you, I have seasons in reading where my taste and ability to “get” different things varies. I like how you put it about being ready to connect with a book. Thank you for giving “Poet” another chance☺️
Yes yes, really I enjoyed this book so much. I believe it’s the most romantic one yet.!It was the poem at the end that did it for me. Thank you so very much for giving me so much joy. WCL
Oh I loved this so much that as a budding lyricist I just had to pen it. May this bring you joy dear Jennifer. FILLY FOLLY Shall I compare you to my favourite horse, Galloping o’er the flowery fields, She would do damage to delicate blooms, Whilst you would posies tenderly yield. Shall I compare her windblown mane To chestnut curls tumbling down your nape, When yours can take my breath away Whilst all she offers is escape. Shall I her flaring nostrils note And remember the ire that sparks your eyes When liking the man that ire provoked To bravely deal with my blind disguise. No equine equal ever could replace The vulnerable safety of your warm embrace.
I love this so much! You have a talent for verse that I simply don't possess (I toiled for MONTHS over the poems I needed for this story😄), and I love the imagery and emotion you put into your poem. Thank you! This does, indeed, give me so much joy!
WOW! You did it again! THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH! Your talent knows no boundaries. It was good to meet Mr Wickham wearing a somewhat different hat. You have a true gift in taking the characters from P&P and tossing them around until a truly fresh and unique story line takes bloom. You have an amazing talent and I thank you yet again, for sharing it with your readers! ❤
Thank you, Mitzi! They’re such wonderful characters to work with ❤️ And thank you for your comment on the poetry! It’s amazing how a little praise makes me forget how great of a challenge they were to pen 😄
I have to agree! I heard my first book just a few days ago n have already listened to 8 of her books so far. I look forward to listening to them all in succession now! 😅😅
I absolutely LOVED this story. I put off listening to this one bc , well, cheesy poetry, it won’t be interesting. It floored me how wonderful it is as well as the whole story! I’m always surprised !❤️
Thank you! I like to think that Mrs. Pugmire will be happy with the life she chose. Something tells me that she stands a better chance than any to keep Wickham in line😄
I loved this variation it was very loving & deep, just like Darcy. I truly hope Mrs Pugsmire will be ok but money & a sword hanging over a certain someones head will most likely do the trick. Thank-you for all the joy you have brought into my life, now onto Mr Darcy Traitor it certainly sounds ominous. Hope you have a great writing day, week, month, year, Bye xxxx
I must say I was so absolutely impressed. I cannot wait for the next book, it was so much more than what I was expecting. I am truly impressed. You have taken it to so many different levels. You have given us so many different intrigues you have made them into characters that I would never expect to enjoy a life of their own.

Please, ....please have all of your books read by this narrator, Stevie Zimmerman . It makes such a fantastic difference!

Yay! Stevie has narrated most of my titles, so I’m always happy to hear this! Thank you, Peggy ☺️
What a lovely story Jennifer! Interesting twist on the evil Wickham and I loved the ending. So romantic and the kiss 😘 Yay! More of that please 🥰
Thank you, Patricia!

I did like this Wickham variation . Still a rake but much more clever . Thank you so much for sharing your work !
I’m so glad you enjoyed it, Carla! It was fun to write a not-so-bad Wickham.
Again a really lovely novel!! And the best narrator ever🤩

The two poems you include are absolutely precise. No lines are wasted. I can easily see that they have been perfected over time. 🌸
I have it. The title is Filly Folly. I will edit it now.

I had a guy break my fall once. Mortifying! JS
It’s never as charming and injury-free as the romantic comedies present it to be, is it? (At least, not in my experience😆)
The best one ever "Love it" !

Mr Bingley is so sweet, but I think I still favor Mr Darcy
It’s always Darcy 😍
I ejoyed this so much more than I thought I was going to. I let the title put me off, I should have known better 😁. Thankyou
Thank you for giving Poet a chance, Deb! I'm so happy you enjoyed it.
😂😂 at 2:24:14.....oh my this is the first time i liked Wickham, sad it won't last... But Caroline asked for that 😅
Yay! It was refreshing to write a more likable Wickham, and I’m glad you enjoyed the change, Jo!
That was fun.
"They could choke on their white soup for all Elizabeth cared!" 🤣🤣🤣

If the Bennets keep coming to the Bingleys they will run out of beds! Lol first Jane, then Lizzie....😅😂😊 ❤
Haha! Wouldn't Bingley's sisters love that😂
@@jenniferjoyaudiobooksyes, but especially Mrs Bennet
