Great video, I am trying to setup a filter with a query that searches the Parent project and the child projects as well, which it appears ToDoist does not do. I used the (today | overdue) & #Work example calling the Parent folder Work. For some reason in the filter it showed everything in ToDoist vs just the tasks that are in the child projects under the work project. Any recommendations?
Carl - love your videos. On filters. Is there a way to eatablish an date in a task and then show things like - items due in the 30 days, 60 days, 90 days etc. For example, I would want to set up a task that is due on January 1 another in April, May etc. Then I’d like to filter and see the tasks that are due in 30 days, 60 days etc.
Do you know of any way to create a TODAY view for tommorows tasks? I’m on apple reminders and my current way to do this is to redate all the tasks due for tommorow to today and then organise them, when I’m making my to do list for the next day
Hi Karina, a "filter query" is the code you use to create the filter. For example: "today and p1" would show you all your tasks for today that are flagged P1 (red flag). You can try that by typing "Today and P1" into your "find" area at the top left of your window. Type it in and hit return. You can create filters out of almost anything. The best way to learn these is to use Todoist's filters help guide here. todoist.com/help/articles/introduction-to-filters Hope that helps.
@@Carl_Pullein Makes sense, thank you! :) I was confused because Todoist doesn't have a built-in feature that shows you what to type for the query, it's just a blank space so I thought I could type anything at all. It was only because I watched your video that I saw there seems to be a specific format for queries. I'd like to add a suggestion for your videos for newbies like me, please add a short explanation for things that aren't obvious and require us to look up more info, (such as the query) like mention a link below for those unfamiliar with it since not everyone watching has the same level of experience on todoist. Thank you Carl!
Can you filter based on the title of the task? Say I want to see all my tasks that start with the word "Buy" so I can see what I need to purchase. is that possible?
For that, you would be better entering the word “buy” in the search field. That would do the trick for you. I don’t know if a way to save a filter for that.
This is also my favorite filter "today" today.. thanks
Good filter is that one :-)

Hi Brandon, if you use the filter: ##Work, that will show all tasks in the "Work" project and its sub-projects.
@@Carl_Pullein thank you. What is your best ToDoist setup/workflow video with pro tips for busy Executives?
@@BrandonKrieger I'd refer you to my latest set up. That should help.
